Politicians slam North Carolina voters

NY Post: New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has told University of North Carolina graduates that last week’s gay marriage vote shows there is still a lot of work to be done for civil rights in this country. Bloomberg spoke Sunday to thousands of graduates at Kennan Stadium.
Bloomberg told them Americans have slowly understood since this country was founded that if the government can deny freedom to one person, it can deny freedom to everyone. The mayor says every generation has brought more freedom to this country, and he expects the latest generation to continue to the work, especially in light of last Tuesday’s vote approving a constitutional amendment banning gay homsexual marriage.
Bloomberg also says the university’s motto, “Light and Liberty,” should be the defining spirit of this century.
Weasel Zippers: North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue was in Greenville, N.C., on Friday when she responded to questions from WITN-TV in Washington. She said she was disappointed voters in her state on Tuesday approved a constitutional amendment defining marriage as only between a man and a woman.
“People around the country are watching us and they’re really confused, to have been such a progressive, forward-thinking, economically driven state that invested in education and that stood up for the civil rights of people, including the civil rights marches back in the ’50′s and ’60′s and ’70′s,” Perdue said. “Folks are saying what in the world is going on in North Carolina. We look like Mississippi.”
To Mayor Bloomberg: You know what liberty is? Your right to vote. Why don’t you mind your own New York City business.
To Governor Perdue: You were the idiot that in 2011 recommended suspending congressional elections for the next couple of years. Shame on you for insulting the people who elected you and the State of Mississippi.
How typical of liberals. All for democracy until it doesn’t go their way.

We Don't Need No Stinkin' Constitution!

Let’s face it.
The Left don’t like America and would like nothing better than to transform this country beyond recognition. And if they can’t get their way via lawful democratic institutions and processes, they’ll just do away with elections, Congress, and the Constitution altogether.
2½ weeks ago, on September 27, North Carolina’s Demonrat governor, Beverly Perdue, proposed suspending Congressional elections for two years so that members of Congress can “focus on jobs.”
The latest Demonrat to make similar noises is Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. (Illinois).
In an interview with Nicholas Ballasy of the Daily Caller on October 12, 2011, Jackson compared Obama’s opponents to the Confederate racists, said the federal government should immediately hire all of America’s unemployed at $40,000 per year, and called for Obama to ignore the U.S. Constitution.

Obama himself just told his “jobs council” to find ways to act without congressional authorization and shove as much of his failed “jobs bill” down America’s throat as it can.  ABC News provides the details:
“We’re not going to wait for Congress.  So my instruction to… all the advisers who are sitting around the table is, scour this report, identify all those areas in which we can act administratively without additional congressional authorization, and just get it done,” the president said at a meeting of his Jobs and Competitiveness Council in Pittsburgh.
Obama also said: “These days, things don’t move as quickly through Congress as we would like.  But there are certain ideas that are contained in this jobs council report that historically have received bipartisan support.  And the election is 14 months away, or 13 months away.  We can’t wait until another election before we start acting on some of those ideas.”
By the way, Obama’s “jobs council” is packed with – surprise! – top Obama campaign contributors.  U.C. Berkeley’s student newspaper, Daily Californian, reports that at least 10 of the 27 members on the council donated $4,600, the maximum legal amount for individuals, to Obama’s 2008 campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. One of them is Laura Tyson, professor of global management in the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Tyson has held influential government positions since the early 1990s, serving as former President Bill Clinton ’s national economic adviser from 1995 to 1996 and as a member of the National Security Council and Domestic Policy Council during his administration.

NC Governor Proposes Suspending Elections

See UPDATE below!

NC governor Beverly Perdue. This is one scary crazy b*tch.

Friends, what we have been fearing and anticipating would happen just happened.
North Carolina’s Democrat governor, Beverly Perdue, just proposed suspending Congressional elections for the next two years so that members of Congress can “focus on jobs.”
Matthew Boyle of The Daily Caller reports today, Sept. 27, 2011, that Perdue said this at a Rotary Club event in Cary, NC, according to the Raleigh News & Observer:
“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that.”
North Carolina Republicans immediately scoffed at Perdue’s proposal, pointing out to her that elections hold politicians accountable for their actions. North Carolina GOP spokesman Rob Lockwood said in an email to The Daily Caller:
“Now is a time when politicians need to be held accountable more than ever. To suspend an election would be removing the surest mechanism that citizens have to hold politicians accountable: the right to vote.”
Perdue press secretary Chris Mackey claims the governor was joking when she made the comment. Mackey said in an email to TheDC:
“Come on … Gov. Perdue was obviously using hyperbole to highlight what we can all agree is a serious problem: Washington politicians who focus on their own election instead of what’s best for the people they serve.”

Yeah, sure, the crazy bitch was just joking….
Let’s put the fear of God in Perdue. Here’s her contact info:

Office of the Governor
Constituent Services Office
116 West Jones Street
Raleigh, North Carolina 27603
Phone: (800) 662-7952 or (919) 733-2391
Fax: (919) 733-2120

To send a message, go here to fill in the “Contact” form.

All that’s needed now is to have some group light a match by provoking a race or class war and riots. Then Obama will just declare Martial Law, thereby suspending the Constitution itself.
A big h/t to beloved fellow Will.

UPDATE: I found this audio of her speech and if she was joking, it was not obvious, there was no hesitation after the statement and not so much as snicker from the audience. This was NO joke.

N. Carolina Abortion Law Passes Over Female Gov's Veto

Samuel Alexander, 21 weeks, clutches the finger of surgeon Joseph Bruner.

Kelli Easterling of the Richmond County Daily Journal reports, July 30, 2011, that despite the efforts of North Carolina’s Democrat Gov. Beverly Perdue, a new abortion law passed on Thursday.
From the cries of outrage from the pro-abortion camp, such as abortion mill Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina spokesperson Paige Johnson, you’d think that the new law will make elective abortions illegal.
But the new law merely states that pregnant women seeking abortion must wait 24 hours and be presented with an ultrasound image of their baby in the womb. The woman is free to look away and ignore the explanation of what is being shown on the screen.
Gov. Perdue vetoed the measure on June 27, but NC state Senate members voted Thursday to override her veto. They defend the legislation, claiming it provides crucial information to women who are making an irrevocable decision. The law will take effect in October.
Perdue, who claims Episcopalian as her religion and has two grown sons from her first marriage, called the law a “dangerous intrusion into the confidential relationship that exists between women and their doctors.”
Oh, puleeze. Seeing an ultrasound of the unborn is not just an “intrusion” but a “dangerous intrusion” into the marvelous relationship between women and their doctors?
No. Seeing an ultrasound of the unborn is an inconvenient truth to people like Beverly Perdue because the woman now can see her baby is a living, breathing, albeit tiny person — with tiny fingers and tiny toes and a beating heart — instead of a disposable piece of bodily tissue.
Truth is always dangerous to those who seek to conceal and deceive. As my erstwhile ultra-left friend Stephanie once exclaimed in a moment of sheer frustration because I out-argued her:

“Don’t confuse me with facts! I’ve made up my mind!”
