Washington State gun control laws designed to punish law-abiding citizens

Demorats’ gun control laws are conduits to achieving their utopia: Removing firearms from law-abiding citizens.

Washington State (run by demorats) has implemented numerous gun control laws that have had no effect on criminal behaviors.

Earlier this month the Seattle Police Department (SPD) released its annual report on gun violence, and statistics show the number of shootings in 2019 is up from 2018. One of the causes is an increase in gang-related violence.

Instead of addressing the root cause of gun violence, Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson believes part of the solution is to ban “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines.

Proof that demorats only want to control legal firearms is the fact that known criminals are routinely set free to terrorize tax-paying citizens. There is a severe lack of proper punishment for criminals due to – in my opinion – social justice warriors’ desire for “criminal justice reform.”

Look at what happened in Seattle this week: Three shootings where one person was killed. The majority injured happened at a shooting on Tuesday in downtown Seattle in broad daylight (7 injured, the 1 killed).

Guess who the perps were? “KNOWN GANG MEMBERS.”

MyNorthwest.com has more details about these KNOWN perps:

“KIRO 7’s Amy Clancy reports that police are searching for a pair of 24-year-old male suspects who are both “known to SPD,” according to a source in law enforcement.

Clancy went on to note that court documents reveal both suspects are “‘documented gang members’ with extensive criminal histories.” Those documents detail multiple arrests for robbery, theft, and false statements to a public servant among other charges, for one suspect, while the other had been “booked 11 times since 2014” for theft, domestic violence, a DUI, and violating a no contact order.”

MyNorthwest.com reports that 45 police units were dispatched to the scene at the time of the shooting.

Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best said to expect a strong police present in the area “until further notice.”

Until further notice you can expect that since the criminal justice system does not adequately punish criminals, they will not follow any gun control laws.

And until further notice, you can expect that demorats will continue in their efforts to strip law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment right.

Washington State governor and AG want to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines

This past Thursday, Washington State AG Bob Ferguson made an announcement, along with support from Governor Jay Inslee, that they will seek to ban assault weapons. They also want to propose limits to magazine capacity in order to combat mass shootings.

Excerpts from his announcement:

“In addition to renewing calls to ban the sale of these dangerous weapons and limits to magazine capacity, Ferguson is also proposing legislation to add background checks on ammunition sales after federal rules are changed, in addition to other safety measures to keep ammunition out of the hands of dangerous individuals.

“This is the time to take action on common sense measures that will save lives. We should be making it harder for those who want to inflict mass violence and destruction upon innocent people,” Inslee said. “By limiting magazine capacity and banning assault weapons, we can work toward a day where no one in Washington state loses a friend or family members to senseless gun violence.”

Ferguson and Inslee are proposing joint-request legislation to limit the capacity of magazines sold in Washington to 10-rounds.

The bill’s definition to assault weapons is similar to the definition used by the seven other states that have banned the sale of assault weapons — semi-automatic weapons that contain at least one military-style feature. Those laws have survived legal challenge.”

There’s also this stupid part of his proposal: “The bill makes it illegal for violent felons not legally allowed to buy guns to buy ammo, and prohibits firearms dealers from knowingly selling ammo to the or anyone else not legally allowed to buy a gun.”

Such a vague description of what a “military-style feature” is in this announcement. My guess is this feature:

Because we all know what the end goal is of gun-grabbers: Take away your guns.

#BelieveSurvivors: Washington state has nearly 6,500 untested rape kits

Justice moves very slowly for women in Washington state.

From MSN: More than 6,000 sexual assault kits that could potentially bring justice to thousands of rape victims in Washington state have not been tested, according to the state attorney general’s office.

In a Wednesday press release, the office of Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson said it determined there was a statewide backlog of 6,460 evidence kits after collecting inventory information from 208 law enforcement agencies in the state. Many of the kits have been in storage for years, with the oldest untested kit dating back to 1982.

The medical evidence kits contain biological samples collected from people who reported that they were assaulted. Authorities booked the kits into evidence but never submitted them to a crime lab for a DNA analysis.

Sexual assault survivors deserve justice,” Ferguson said. “Each sexual assault kit tells a story from a survivor that must be heard.”

(Well, they eventually might see justice.)

Washington state is among numerous other places where untested sexual assault kits have piled up. End The Backlog, a nonprofit organization that aims to address the issue, estimates there are hundreds of thousands of untested kits in storage facilities across the country.

Ferguson has been working to address the problem in his state. Late last year, his office received a $3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to deal with the backlog. Since then, the office has received roughly $750,000, or one-quarter of the grant money, to conduct an inventory of the untested kits. The state legislature has also dedicated funding to the backlog.

The attorney general reported two types of rape kit backlogs. The first is the “unsubmitted” sexual assault kit backlog, which consists of kits that sit in evidence storage facilities because DNA analysis was never requested.

The second type of backlog occurs in crime lab facilities and involves “backlogged” sexual assault kits that have been submitted and are awaiting testing.

The kits could contain DNA from suspects who could be identified through the FBI’S national DNA database system. The central repository of DNA information contains biological evidence not only from sex offenders, but also from individuals arrested or convicted of federal offenses or other qualifying crimes, which vary by state.

The Seattle Times reported that King County prosecutors demonstrated the value of testing old rape kits on Monday, when they charged 53-year-old Darin Lamont Bolar in the sexual assault of a teenager in Seattle more than a decade ago.

The victim’s rape kit, which contained evidence collected in 2007, was not tested until last December. Between 2007 and now, prosecutors said, Bolar was able to commit additional “violent and sexually aggressive crimes,” according to the Times.

With backlogged rape kits now inventoried, Ferguson said his office will request the remainder of the federal grant money to pay for testing. Once the kits are tested, authorities can use DNA evidence to reopen cases, he said.

Testing the kits could “identify serial rapists, link cases across the country, provide critical links that could solve homicide cases and provide answers to victims and their families,” the attorney general’s office said.

Washington state governor gives $1.2 million taxpayer dollars to assist illegal aliens

gov insleee
Don’t let the lack of the word “illegal” in this story fool you. Gov. Inslee has, in effect, turned Washington state into a sanctuary state.
From MyNorthwest.com: Just hours after President Trump signed an executive order to keep families together at the U.S.-Mexico border, Washington state Governor Jay Inslee called the policy child abuse and announced he will give $1.2 million to support Northwest Immigrant Rights Project’s civil legal aid services.
The money will be used to defend immigrant rights and to help families reunite.
“We know that this was an intentional infliction of abusive behavior to punish innocent children,” Inslee said. “It is a form of child abuse.”
The governor said that everyone is entitled to a fair and due process, and to be treated with dignity and respect.
As for Trump’s executive order, Inslee said it’s too late. The damage has been done. “We have more than 2,300 children separated from their parents today,” Inslee said.
The governor said Trump’s administration has lied about the separation of children from their parents, why they did what they did to the children, lied about who is responsible, and lied about what it will take to reunite families.
Inslee and state Attorney General Bob Ferguson sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Department of Homeland Security head Kirstjen Nielsen for answers about why the policy was enacted and about the location of the children and parents. He said they have not received answers.
Trump said on Wednesday, “We are keeping families together.” But he added the “zero tolerance” policy will continue.
Vice President Mike Pence added that they are calling upon Congress to change the laws. Trump added that the word “compassion” comes into it.
The president has been trying to win over congressional support on immigration amid a crisis along the border involving the separation of immigrant children from their families.
