Catholics are leaving the Democratic Party

It seems that every day, we are inundated by bad news, including posts published on FOTM.
It gets depressing.
But never fear! I bring you a piece of good news for a refreshing change!
Though U.S. Catholics are not a monolithic voting bloc, their votes are very important because in election after election, Catholics consistently voted the way that the majority in the election voted. In other words, the Catholic vote is a swing vote.
But the term “Catholic Democrats” should be and is an oxymoron. Despite church teachings on the sanctity of (heterosexual) marriage and on abortion being an un-negotiable “intrinsic evil,” too many American Catholics are and vote Democrat. Even worse, they remained Democrats despite their party openly and publicly denying God three times at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
But that is beginning to change. Catholics, especially white Catholics, are leaving the Democratic Party.
Hallelujah!

Armor of God I can do all things through Christ
From California Catholic Daily, March 19, 2015:
It’s one of the central contradictions of American politics: that there’s no such thing as the “Catholic vote,” yet the Catholics vote still matters.
There’s no “Catholic vote” in terms of Catholics representing an electoral bloc that votes according to what their bishops tell them, or in lockstep with the tenets of their religion. Yet winning Catholic voters has been essential to almost every presidential victory in modern times. And the defection of Catholics voters has played a role in some of the most consequential congressional turnovers in recent history — from 1994 to 2014 — making Catholics the ultimate swing voters. And for Democrats, that could be bad news.
While Catholics have been swing voters since Richard Nixon’s second term, white Catholics are now identifying as Republican by historic margins. According to the most recent polling from the Pew Research Center, 53 percent of white Catholics now favor the GOP, versus 39 percent who favor the Democrats—the largest point spread in the history of the Pew poll. And for the first time, white Catholics are more Republican than the voting group usually considered the ultimate Republicans: white Protestants (a designation that includes both mainline and evangelical Protestants).
These are ominous signs for the Democrats, evincing a new and growing allegiance with the Republican Party that has long-term implications.
So why are white Catholics abandoning the Democratic Party? There are some long-term trends at play. Steve Krueger, head of the group Catholic Democrats, notes that conservative bishops have been beating the war drums since the George W. Bush administration, even going so far in some cases as to argue that “good” Catholics can’t vote for Democrats because of their support for abortion rights and, more recently, same-sex marriage — which has resulted in an increased politicization of the church.
Stephen Schneck of Catholic University’s Institute for Policy Research and Catholic Studies has noted that there’s been a certain “distillation” of the Catholic vote as a record number of presumably more liberal-leaning Catholics — some one-third of those raised Catholic — have left the faith altogether. “More and more of those who remain are those who actively choose to embrace the church and its teachings,” he wrote.
But neither of these trends explains why white Catholics have abandoned the Democratic Party so suddenly and so dramatically. After all, in 2008 Barack Obama managed to keep his margin of loss of white Catholic voters to John McCain to just 5 points. But four years later, he lost the white Catholic vote to Mitt Romney by a stunning 19 points.
Krueger points to the Catholic bishop’s demonization in 2011 of the “contraceptive mandate” in the Affordable Care Act, and their subsequent ginning up of the war on “religious liberty” — which was joined by elements of the religious right and fused with its war on Obamacare — as another factor helping to drive Catholics toward the GOP. And the numbers bear Krueger out. According to Pew, between 2009 and 2014, the number of white Catholics who said the Obama administration — and by inference the Democratic Party — was “unfriendly to religion” more than doubled from 17 percent to 36 percent.
“The shift in the Catholic vote should really be a wakeup call to the Democrats,” says Krueger. “White Catholics are 18 percent of the electorate and Catholics vote 1 to 2 percentage points above their representation in the overall population. This is a significant voting bloc that now perceives Republicans as being more welcoming to people of faith.”

Democrats can’t tell U.S. military from Soviet’s or Turkey’s

The Democratic Party today not only is hostile toward the U.S. military, they are also ignorant. They haven’t the foggiest idea what our warships and fighter planes look like, and so confuse those of other countries with ours. To Democrats, they all look alike.

Neil Munro reports for The Daily Caller, Sept. 17, 2012, that the mix-up happened during the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, on Sept. 6, shortly before the POS accepted his party’s nomination for a second term. The convention projected images of warships and fighter jets in a giant stage backdrop, intended to illustrate the Democratic Party’s support for military personnel and veterans.

The problem is neither the warships nor the fighter jets were those of the United States.

On Sept. 12, after the Navy Times reported that the convention had used a photo of four Soviet-era Russian warships with their distinct radars and blue-cross motif Russian naval flags, the Democrats issued an apology. (NAVAL EXPERT: Ships shown during Democratic convention tribute to veterans were Russian)

~click pic to enlarge~

Now we find that the F-5 fighter planes flying in a seven-plane formation depicted in the same huge image, which convention-goers assumed were American fighter planes, are actually part of the air force of Turkey, a country whose government is now jailing journalists and establishing Islam as a state religion.

This latest discovery was also reported by the Navy Times, from a tip.

Brad Woodhouse, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee, did not respond when the The Daily Caller asked why the convention planners displayed Turkish-flown aircraft alongside Russian warships while seeking support from the American military community.

This is not a serious political party.

It’s the party of Bozo the Clown.

Blaspheme like it’s 2008: Obama compared to Jesus Christ, again

For a political party that’s uniquely hostile to Christianity but not other religions, it is strange to say the least that the Democrats don’t hesitate to invoke the Lord’s name when it suits their purpose. The best case in point is the Democrats’ deification of Obama in 2008.

Writing for WND, Sept. 3, 2012, Drew Zahn reminds us of these grotesque examples:

  • Maggie Mertens, associate editor of the student newspaper Smithsophian at Massachusetts’ Smith College, wrote that “I will follow him” because “Obama is my Jesus”.
  • Even the Dutch were similarly stricken with the messianic zeal. Extolling Obamacare, an editorial in the Dutch newspaper Politiken in 2009 actually declared that “Obama is, of course, greater than Jesus.”
  • Obama himself encouraged the idolatry. In a speech on January 7, 2008,  at Dartmouth College just before the New Hampshire Primary, the POS told the gullible students: “A light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany, and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote” for Obama.

Flash forward to today. To quote Yogi Bera, it’s déjà vu all over again.

The streets surrounding the 2012 Democratic National Convention site are dotted with vendors selling Obama-themed merchandise. David Weigel of Slate.com came across a photo calendar made by James Hickman and being hawked by Hickman’s nephew.

Weigel writes that most of the calendar’s months are filled with photos of Obama and factoids about the history of black Americans, but for the August entry (the month of Obama’s birth), the page features Obama’s purported short-form birth certificate and the words, “Heaven Sent: For God so loved the world, that he have his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life – John 3:16.”

John 3:16 refers to Jesus Christ as the Son of God. But the calendar, with Obama’s purported birth certificate and a photo of the POS with sunlight streaming down on his profile, implies the “heaven sent” is not Jesus, but Obama.

In a separate video posted by James Hickman, he urges Americans “to get out and vote for” Obama and that “I give up love and everything to Obama.” Hickman’s speech is immediately followed by Obama adoring signs: “I love you President Obama! God bless you!” and “God has spoken … another 4 yrs!”

I have a better Bible quote for Hickman and all the Obama idolators:

“And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.” -2 Corinthians 11:14

Party like it’s 2008

When you watch the 2012 Democratic National Convention as it begins today, just remember the POS had said THE SAME THINGS four years ago as today.

Things aren’t better. They are WORSE.

Are you better now than you were 4 years ago?

I woke up to the overnight alphabet networks all on script, blabbering that today is the first day of the Democratic National Convention and that the Dems’ message is that the POS should get another 4 years because Americans really are better off than we were in 2008. Never mind the fact that as the DNC begins, the national debt of the United States of America just hit the $16 TRILLION mark.

Or if we don’t feel we’re better off,  brainiac Nancy Pelosi tells us we’re at least better off than we WOULD HAVE BEEN if the POS hadn’t been elected 4 years ago. Did you get her amazing feat of counter-factual might-have-been logic? Me, neither. But then I’m not a brainiac!

FOTM is taking our own poll.

The first poll asks if you are financially better off today than you were 4 years ago. Being “financially better off” means the following:

  • Are you making more money than 4 years ago?
  • Do you have more in financial assets (savings, stocks, 401k/IRA/pension retirement funds) than 4 years ago?
  • Is your house worth more than 4 years ago?
  • Are your expenses for basic necessities (food, gas, housing, clothing) less than they were 4 years ago?
  • Do you pay less taxes than 4 years ago?

The second poll asks if you believe America is a better country than it was 4 years ago. By “a better country” is meant the following:

  • Americans have a greater sense of unity and brotherhood with each other.
  • Americans are more optimistic about our country’s future.
  • America is a stronger country than 4 years ago.
  • The world thinks better of America.
  • You believe your children and grandchildren will have a better life than yours.

Thank you for taking this survey! 😀

Whites are now hyphenated Americans too!

Are you a “white” American?

Have you been feeling left out, neglected, and dissed because all the Americans-of-color have fancy hyphenated group-names like African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Latino-Americans, Jewish-Americans, Arab-Americans, Muslim-Americans, and of course THE BEST AND MOSTEST hyphenated group of all, the NATIVE-Americans?

Well, the Democratic Party of Hyphenated Americans care about your feeeeeelings. So now whities also get a hyphen!!!!

The official 2012 Democratic Convention website is calling on all “European and Mediterranean Americans” to “come together”! Here’s the article:

European and Mediterranean Americans met in the Ethnic Council meeting at Charlotte Convention Center on Monday, September 3 to discuss the engagement and empowerment of grassroots communities in the political process.

The Ethnic Council is a coalition of leaders representing Democrats who have organized among diverse backgrounds, faiths, ethnicities and demographic or geographic origins. At the convention, they are coming together to support President Barack Obama’s re-nomination and discuss strategies for increasing grassroots participation.

The personal stories of the delegates reflected American diversity and shared heritage.  Members offered ideas about connecting with specific communities as they work to keep our country moving in the right direction.

Maryland State Senator Jim Rosapepe, an Italian-American, is excited to re-nominate President Obama. Senator Rosapepe said, “I think he stands for the values we grew up with: family, education, and community. When Italian-Americans came, we had to stand together. Italian-Americans got ahead by the way others got ahead, by standing together.”

Don’t you feel more American now that you also have a hyphen?

Phew! I’m so relieved now that the Democrats have put every American into neat little boxes in accordance with our race, ethnicity, and continent of origin — no matter how many generations it was since your ancestors had left that continent!

But wait. Weren’t we told back in 2008 that the half African-American, half European-American POS would be America’s first post-racial president?

800 freaks in pre-DNC protest

A day before the Democratic National Convention begins in Charlotte, NC, an estimated 800 malcontents turned out for a protest march. The ostensible purpose was to decry corporate greed, but it drew other causes as well.

I spotted the following signs and slogans:

March on Wall Street South

It’s Time to Build People’s Power

Take $$$ Out of Politics

LGBTQ People

Chiquita Banana Funds Terrorism

and chants of “No War! Give Obama Prison Time!”

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qITFtV_jeVE]

Funny, but I’m pretty sure every one of those demonstrators wear and/or use something that was made by those eeeevil corporations.

Calif DNC delegate sent home, drunk

The Democratic National Convention is a day away but, already, the freak show is in full display.

Two California delegates got drunk last night. One was so drunk, he passed out and was taken to a local hospital. The other delegate got unruly and was kicked out of the convention.

Joe Garofoli reports from Charlotte, NC, for the San Francisco Chronicle, Sept. 2, 2012:

A member of the California delegation to the Democratic National Convention has been sent home after a drunken late night incident Sunday at one of the delegation’s hotels.

Sometime around 2 a.m. Sunday, two delegates returned to the Blake Hotel “intoxicated” according to state party officials and hotel staff noticed one appeared to be unconscious and called emergency service workers. The delegate was treated at a local hospital and released.

The other delegate became unruly with the hotel staff and emergency workers. Some reports say he allegedly claimed to be a member of Congress and a state party official. The hotel staff called police but the man was not arrested.

Later Sunday, California party officials met with the man and “asked him to leave the hotel and not partake in convention activities,” said state party spokesman Tenoch Flores. “The delegate has apologized to hotel staff and earlier today agreed to leave the hotel and forgo official delegation activities in Charlotte.”

Party officials did not identify the delegates involved.

Giant sculpture of the POS at the 2012 DNC

He’s not waiting for posterior to immortalize him by adding his visage to Mount Rushmore.

The POS is having a gigantic 16-foot sculpture of himself made for next week’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC.

Daniel Greenfield reports for FrontPageMag.com, Aug. 31, 2012:

Forget the marble pillars, this time there will be a giant 16-foot sculpture of Obama made out of 15.5 tons of sand at the Democratic National Convention. Building a giant sand sculpture of a living leader might be considered a bit tacky with its worshipful implications, but building one during a hurricane in South Carolina is in particularly bad taste.

But if nothing else, at least Obama has found one “Shovel Ready Project”. And this isn’t even the creepiest giant Obama sand sculpture ever made. The winner of that particular competition is still Sudarsan Pattnaik with this nightmare made out of sand.

Hey, you POS squatting in the White House! The United States of America is not North Korea. We don’t do Cult of Personality here — at least not if the American People have any say about it.

Unlike granite, sand is ephemeral. I hope dogs pee on your creepy sand-sculpture.
