On June 2, 2011, 53-year-old Isabel Chavelo Gutierrez rode two miles on his bicycle from his home to that of a 77-year-old little ol’ lady in the tiny coastal community of Tivoli, Texas.
Armed with a pocketknife, the 5′-7″, 230-to-250 pound Gutierrez sneaked into the woman’s house by lowering the glass pane on a screen door.
He then raped the elderly woman at knifepoint.
During the assault, he said he wasn’t feeling well, rolled over, and died.
The woman said she saw Gutierrez at a local post office one day before the June 2 attack.
After he lost consciousness during the attack, the woman drove from her house and called her daughter, who then alerted authorities.
Gutierrez was a registered sexual offender on parole from a sentence for aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child. He had been released from prison in 2008.
