Stupidest Man in Congress Was Reëlected

Remember this?

During a House Armed Services Committee hearing on April 1, 2010, on the advisability of the U.S. building up its naval base on the Pacific island of Guam, a U.S. territory, Congressman Hank Johnson (D-Georgia) opened his mouth and removed all doubt that his IQ is the same as his shoe size.
Concerned that adding 8,000 U.S. Marines and their families to Guam’s 175,000 population would lead to over-population, Johnson said he feared the island would tip over and capsize like a boat!

Well, you’d be thrilled to know that not only did Hank Johnson win reëlection in Georgia’s 4th Congressional district in 2008 with 99.9% of the vote, despite his demonstration of stupidity he was again reëlected in 2010!
More than that, last week (December 6), he was elected Progressive Caucus whip, which proves that it is not just Democrat voters who are stupid, so too are Johnson’s fellow Demonrat Congressmen/women.
Johnson has a 100% lifetime rating from the ACLU.
H/t beloved fellow May.

  1. My aunt’s in his district… we have no frickin’ clue how he’s doing it unless everyone suddenly decides to vote for the devil they know at the voting booth because it doesn’t seem to be the common sensically-challenged voter area otherwise.

  2. Unbelievable…

  3. Cynthia McKinney used to represent that district.
