Fox News: Lunch meat, a couple of crackers, a slice of cheese and two pieces of cauliflower qualified as lunch in Chickasha (Oklahoma) Public Schools Monday.
Chickasha lunch Student Kaytlin Shelton took a photo of the skimpy lunch and showed it to her parents.
“It makes me want to take that and take it to the Superintendent and tell him to eat it for lunch,” the girl tells Fox 25. “I can go pay a dollar for a Lunchable and get more food in it,” her father, Vince Holton, says.
Shelton is pregnant and eating for two, complicating the problem.
Chickasha superintendent David Cash agrees the skimpy lunches need to be addressed. “You’ve got in some cases little kids that they’re only two meals are breakfast and lunch at school and they’re getting you know a grand total of 1100 calories. That’s not enough,” Cash says.
The new lunch complies with lunch regulations championed by First Lady Michelle Obama and implemented by the USDA.

  1. “Shelton is pregnant and eating for two”
IMHO, Shelton and her parents have more serious problems on their hands than the skimpy school lunch. [sarc]

    • Hey, that sex ed in Kindergarten must be having an effect… thanks, liberals!

    • No fan of Michelle, but perhaps Shelton should learn to make and bring her own lunch. She will after all need this skill to feed a baby.

      • True Christy…but alas, many depend upon the government for too much.
I’m just thankful she didn’t abort her baby 🙂

      • Some schools, while implementing this foolishness, have also mandated the school lunches-no more home-made lunches allowed.

      • When I was in school I brought my own lunch to school. My brown paper sack contained the following: a sandwich, a bag of chips and some fruit (either an apple or an orange).

    • That was my first thought, too!
      What a dysfunctional society!

Do they need to start parenting classes in school now. Is it high school, jr. high, elementary,……it does not say?

  3. How did a FLOTUS (gag) get so empowered?

  4. Perhaps they need to go back to the day when they actually cooked lunch in the schools. We always had a great balanced meal filled with veggies and salad.

  5. A healthier and more appropriate lunch would be a slice of pizza and or a chicken sandwich or a veggie wrap. Why not give the teens what they like–it is also what they need. That is not enough carbohydrates to meet the daily requirements for a teen lunch. If they are counting the carbs in the cauliflower they need to get a swift reality kick in arse.

  6. When I was in school (before the days of indoor plumbing and the internet) in a school of 4500 students we had one senior hs girl who got pregnant. It was a big scandal and she was whisked off to a home for unwed mothers. We’ve come a long way since then baby….no?
Anything the gubmint decrees as doctrine, I hole deeply suspect. I’m sure Mooshell doesn’t feed what she recommends to her own adopted chillins, maybe some lobster smothered in shrimp, drizzled in truffle oil

  7. Welcome to the mainstream Ghetto Low-Culture of Amerika.

  8. Do you think baby looks like Webb Hubbell?

  9. That’s the unhealthiest lunch I’ve ever seen! It’s garbage!

  10. Thanks for posting this article, DCG. The country needs to wake up to the horror of who they elected to the presidency twice.

  11. Right, Mike. Nothing healthy about cold cuts and the like.
