Rising disapproval of RNC Chairman Michael Steele isn’t confined to the GOP and conservatives. They don’t like him either in his home state where he had been voted Maryland’s first black lieutenant governor.
Using Steele’s default excuse, we must all be racists! LOL
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Maryland finds that 56% view Steele unfavorably. Only 7% have a very favorable opinion of Steele and 34% who view him very unfavorably.
Maryland is a state that trends strongly Democratic and is one of the few states in the country where Obamacare has more supporters than opponents. While 56% nationwide favor a repeal of Obamacare, only 46% feel that way in Maryland, while 49% oppose repeal. 65% of Maryland voters who strongly favor repeal have a favorable view of Steele, whereas 87% of those who strongly oppose repeal have an unfavorable opinion of the RNC chair.
Men have a more favorable view of Steele than women. 74% of black voters have a negative view of Steele, compared to 51% of whites.
63% of GOP voters in the state view their party chairman favorably, while 70% of Democrats and 54% of voters not affiliated with either party have an unfavorable view of him.
