Hillary Clinton Addresses Recycling Industries Trade Conference In Las VegasHillary ducks shoe at Las Vegas convention

Moments after Hillary “what does it matter” Clinton took the stage to deliver the keynote speech at an Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries meeting at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas today, a woman threw a shoe at the former Secretary of State/former NY senator/former First Lady.

Hillary ducked and did not appear to be hit by the object. She then joked about it: “Is that somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque de Soleil? My goodness, I didn’t know that solid waste management was so controversial. Thank goodness she didn’t play softball like I did.”

Many in the audience of more than 1,000 people in a large ballroom laughed and applauded as Clinton resumed her speech.

The shoe-thrower promptly was taken into federal custody. Brian Spellacy, U.S. Secret Service supervisory special agent in Las Vegas, said the woman was being questioned and would face criminal charges. Spellacy declined to identify the woman, and he said it wasn’t immediately clear what the charges would be.

A black and orange shoe was recovered from the stage.

In the hotel hallway, the middle-aged blonde woman sat calmly on a sofa, wearing a blue dress and thong sandals. She said she threw a shoe and dropped some papers, but didn’t identify herself to reporters or explain the action. Security officials then ushered reporters and photographers away.

Spellacy and Mark Carpenter, spokesman for the recycling institute, said the woman wasn’t a credentialed convention member and wasn’t supposed to have been in the ballroom.

An attendee later handed a reporter a piece of paper that was apparently thrown by the woman. It appeared to be a copy of a Department of Defense document labeled confidential and dated August 1967; it referred to an operation “Cynthia” in Bolivia.

Hillary has been traveling the country giving paid speeches to industry organizations and appearing before key Democratic Party constituents. During a speech in San Francisco on Tuesday, she said she was seriously considering a presidential bid.

  1. It wasn’t that far-how did she MISS hitting Killary?

  2. “Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries?” Pardon my raw opinion…but seems like a logical place for HIllary top start a bid for POTUS (she said, tongue in cheek.) Is this poetic, or what?

  3. Seems they are trying to give her the BOOT.

  4. A fitting gesture for the nation’s leading harridan:
“…a scolding, vicious woman; hag; shrew. Origin: 1690–1700; perhaps alteration of French haridelle thin, worn-out horse, large, gaunt woman.”

  5. For the life of me, I am having the hardest time figuring out how anyone could support this pos. I wonder how much she will steal for OUR White House this time around.

  6. “Brian Spellacy, U.S. Secret Service supervisory special agent in Las Vegas… .” What has the a U,S. Secret Service agent doing being involved with private citizens? I thought the Secret Service had only two duties: to protect the present and track down counterfeiters of currency and securities.

  7. I wonder what the DOD document was about.

  8. The whole audience should have thrown shoes simultaneously. Would the ‘agents’ have to shoot the crowd to protect Clinton? She is not deserving of protection. If she would move to Saudi, the Muslims would know haw to deal with her.

  9. Thank you, I got a good laugh from this one! IMHO, I think Billary’s been planning a presidential run since the ’70’s.
I can’t believe they are filing criminal charges, the shoe didn’t even hit her….too bad her aim wasn’t better. So, what was ‘Operation Cynthia’ from Bolivia?

    • PJ Media (http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2014/04/11/operation-cynthia-was-the-woman-who-threw-a-shoe-at-hillary-clinton-a-hardcore-leftist/) says there was a Bolivian army operation of that name in 1967 to capture Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara. The Samaipata raid on July 6 by Che’s men shocked the army into launching two offensives against the guerrillas. The first, “Operation Cynthia”, directed the Fourth Army Division from Camiri to conduct operations south of the Rio Grande River (see map #3, page 108). In early August the second offensive, “Operation Parabano”, was initiated by the Eighth Army Division in the area north of the river. The Fourth Division soldiers pursued Joaquin’s group northward throughout the months of July and August, periodically clashing with the guerrillas. The “Cynthia” soldiers, however, were denied the final victory when Joaquin’s band crossed the imposed boundary at the Rio Grande. Their counterparts of the Eighth Division, waiting at the river, destroyed their prey at the El Vado del Yeso ford.

PJ Media concludes that the shoe-thrower may be a hardcore leftist: “Operation Cynthia doesn’t appear to have anything at all to do with Hillary Clinton. The shoe throwing must have been, well, crazy, but also an attempt to use Clinton to draw attention to Che Guevara.”

  10. I just listened to hillary’s response to the shoe being thrown at her. I’m 100% convinced those responses were prewritten and the whole thing was staged. For what purpose? We don’t know… YET!

  11. middle-aged blonde woman sat calmly on a sofa, wearing a blue dress and thong sandals.

Praise God it did not say flip-flops!

  12. Thank you Dr. Eowyn for this great post. I’m with Mike. I think the whole incident was contrived, as was her prepared response. She doesn’t have good presence of mind. Anybody who can say, “what difference does it make” in the context of people that died at Benghazi, has little presence of mind.

  13. Watch the video closely , that passed her stupid ass before she even moved . Which tells me the witch knew it was coming and she had to at least make an effort to dodge it ,,,,,,,,,,Much like Benghazi , Whitewater , Cattle – gate , Rose law firm q ‘s ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,don’t forget Mena

  14. The boot throwing was clearly staged, Hillary’s immediate reply with ready joke lines are so obvious. Wonder how much that woman was paid .
She was arrested and quetly released without chrges filed!!!
Guess in addition to lying on regular basis they are turning to theatrics now with women fainting at the proper moments during Obama speeches….
