Senate Democrats introduce new gun-control bill: federal license, registration, red flag & gun confiscation

Six days ago on September 10, 2019, Demonrat senators Cory Booker (New Jersey) and Richard Blumenthal (Connecticut) introduced a new gun-control bill, S. 2449: Federal Firearm Licensing Act, which will:

(1) Require a federal license to acquire or receive firearms, “and for other purposes”: “In general…it shall be unlawful for any individual to purchase or receive a firearm unless the individual has a valid Federal firearm license.”

(2) A Federal firearm license is required for each firearm: “each license issued under this section shall be valid for the purchase of a single firearm”.

(3) Each license is valid for only 5 years.

(4) The federal license in turn means the federal and local governments will keep a registration of all gun owners in the U.S.: “a license issued under the system is available at a designated local office, which shall be located in both urban and rural areas.”

(5) To acquire the Federal firearm license will require:

  • Training in firearms safety, including (a) “a written test, to demonstrate knowledge of applicable firearms laws”; and (b) “hands-on testing, including firing testing, to demonstrate safe use and sufficient accuracy of a firearm”.
  • Proof of identity of the applicant.
  • Fingerprints of the applicant.
  • A thorough background check of the applicant.

(6) Red Flag: If it is determined that an individual “poses a significant danger of bodily injury to self or others by possessing, purchasing, or receiving a firearm,” s/he will be denied a gun license or if s/he already owns a gun(s), the license for which will be revoked and the firearm confiscated: “The Attorney General shall establish procedures to ensure that any firearm is removed from any individual when the individual’s license is revoked”.

I’m afraid you’re right, kjf. All that’ll be needed to deny a license will be the accusation that you’ve threatened physical violence—a mere record of such from your leftist neighbor being sufficient—or, incredibly, that you already own a gun or ammo. That’s just my reading of 932.(b)(3)(ii)(I)(bb) and (gg). I put the partial references in there as a joke, sorry. No free people live under such totalitarian proscriptions. Our vote will become even less than meaningless as early as 2020 inasmuch as the demographic trajectory which the Republicans do nothing meaningful to halt will legitimize our own dispossession in our… Read more »

They all know the shootings are staged. Any pol who doesn’t is brain dead. DJT also gave an interview the day after 9/11 saying that he understood structural engineering and that it was impossible for the towers to have been brought down by planes crashing into them

You’re so right-especially if it’s hit by a plane that size. Logically,it would have fallen away from the side the plane hit,and at that velocity,it would have scattered HEAVY materials for a dozen blocks or more, taking down other buildings. To this day,I don’t know how they made it all LOOK the way it did,but I know that, logically, something VERY hinky must have been done.

Theories abound, directed energy weapons, nanothermite, on and on. Probably all of the above along with conventional explosives. It isn’t necessary to deconstruct their narrative point by point, the details are almost superfluous. It’s only necessary to convince the masses, or at least a significant minority, that the narrative is a massive lie. B7 is a good place to start because it’s easy to understand – not hit by a plane, small localized fires, collapsed straight down at free fall velocity. Only possible in a controlled demo. Plus the 9-11 Commission report didn’t even mention it. Oh, that. Nothing worth… Read more »

They are determine to take our guns no matter what!!! Sarcastically speaking, aren’t we heading for the right direction, ehhhh? And there’s no where to go unless we fiercely opposed the evil threat looming, we have to defend our rights if we have to rewrite history with blood.

I don’t think THEY will be the ones to TRY to take our guns. I think THEY will be kissing up to the UN (rather than throwing their worthless asses out of our Country and all our holdings worldwide) and having them send THEIR Army of Mercenaries over to do the dirty work. How many Gun Owners Rights organizations are there in the US? Why can’t we get their Leaders to go to DC and as a group demand to speak to the President and educate him on the NECESSITY of not just preserving the Second Amendment but RESTORING it.… Read more »

Attempts at firearm confiscation will not go over well in certain parts of the country and could constitute a casus belli for active resistance. It should. 2A is all we have left between ourselves and enslavement by the Zio-Luciferian homo-globalists (H/T Dan). I think it was Jefferson who said that the beauty of the second amendment is that it won’t be needed until they try to take it away. All of the elements of this bill already exist here in MA. Local police departments still have considerable discretion for approving permits however. I have one friend with a pistol permit… Read more »

I am moving to MA next week, I already looked to see how easy it would be to get one. Here in TX it is easy.

Moving to MA..what part? I live in the Berkshires which is mostly small towns, country, and as I mentioned local police depts have some discretion. Over in the Boston area I imagine it’s a lot harder. If you have a clean record you shouldn’t have a problem but it takes a while, months sometimes, to get the CORI results. They also look for substance abuse history, psych history, whether or not you take medication, stuff like that. TX is a different world. MA is very “statist”

I was born and raised in RI. Moved to TX for work. One thing I realized about “texans” are they are all talk about being conservative. Its all about Guns and JES’us but in reality they keep voting for tax increases (debt) time and time again. Yes no income tax but bend over here comes property tax and sales taxes. At least in NE you know what you get, too many fakes here. I am moving outside of Boston.

I know what you mean. I lived in the South (Tenn., OK) for a time and it seemed that much of the Southern charm and Christian sentiment was affected. Being from Maine, NE to me is Maine, NH, VT. CT is a suburb of NYC, RI is just..there (sorry). MA is a maddening and frustrating place, but as much as I complain about it the quality of life here is good, especially in the Berks. A beautiful and cultured area. Since you’re going to be moving to the other end of the state I guess I won’t be popping over… Read more »

True, compared to the flyover states. One of the drawbacks to living here, there’s not nearly enough distance between Berkshire County and Boston

Keep pushing… It will get real ugly real fast… Amazing that the ones calling for this shit have 24 hour a day armed security… I can see it now… “You participate in Fellowship Of The Minds?? We can not trust YOU with a firearm… You are a danger to society and must be neutralized”….

” Amazing that the ones calling for this shit have 24 hour a day armed security…” Not so amazing, everything they say drips with hypocrisy. Schumer and Feinstein both have concealed carry permits. I guess they’re allowed to because, ya know, “the sufferink”. If only they were just hypocrites. Hypocrisy is the least of their sins

It’s just amazing how they’re just stomping right across our Constitutional RIGHTS like they don’t exist. Question-“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms,SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.” Or WHAT? I don’t see ANY mention of what happens to someone who DOES infringe on it. I’m told that there are other Amendments (4th,9th,14th?)that PROTECT the Second Amendment, but when I read them, they AFFIRM the second, but THEY don’t mention what punishment is appropriate for infringement EITHER. If there’s not a solid punishment for infringing on a Right, there’s effectively NO reason… Read more »
