Intruder stabbed in second invasion of North Bend home
Seattle Times: An intruder who was stabbed to death early Monday morning at a North Bend home is apparently the same man who robbed a woman in the house Sunday, but King County sheriff’s investigators don’t know who is, why the house was targeted or why he came back.
“This is a weird deal, just a bizarre case,” said sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West.
West said a couple, their 7-month-old daughter and the woman’s mother were asleep shortly before 1:40 a.m. Monday when the family’s dogs barked and the man got up to let them out. The man was confronted by an intruder, and the two men got into a fight.
“At some point the wife jumped in to help. One of them, I’m not sure which, grabbed a knife and stabbed the suspect,” West said. Update: The Sheriff’s Office says a woman stabbed an intruder to death early Monday at a North Bend home. Sgt. Cindi West says the woman’s husband was struggling with the man about 1:40 a.m. when she got a knife and stabbed the stranger to help her husband.
Investigators found that a number of screens had been removed from the windows, but it wasn’t immediately clear how the intruder got into the house, West said.
The couple had no significant injuries from the fatal fight, but West said they were likely sore because it was “quite a struggle.”
Deputies had been called to the same house shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday, after an unidentified intruder entered through an unlocked back door, grabbed the woman by the hair and demanded money. The woman, who was alone with her mother and daughter, gave the man money, and he slapped or punched her before fleeing, West said.
Deputies searched the area with a tracking dog but were unable to find the suspect. Investigators don’t believe the residents know the intruder and there’s nothing to indicate why the house was attacked.
“We have not seen anything that would explain why this house was targeted,” she said.
Who cares why this woman and her family was targeted. She took care of the scumbag. Score one for home protection!
