The Kaepernick meme is spot on. “The Colon” would have taken a knee rather than fight. He should do a workshop on how to turn mediocrity into martyrdom. Jussie would attend for sure
Thank you for the Kaepernick juxtaposition. I lost a long-time friendship/professional relationship w/a(Black)teacher whom I allowed to train into her internship in my classroom b/c I refused to allow my 6th-7th graders (no 8th-graders tried) to kneel during the Pledge of Allegiance in my classroom—mimicking Kaepernick—-and she supported her students doing so. My reasoning with her was similar/summed up in this meme. First of all…I asked my few kneeling kids (after asking them to stand) WHY they where kneeling, and NOT ONE could tell me why. I meant also to share along the lines of the second one on this post: one time I was in a rush to catch a flight and pulled into a long-term parking lot into space number “666.” When the shuttle came to pick me up….I fussed over the parking space number…..(this was in the first few years following 9-11), which the shuttle driver had noticed on his own at the get-go anyway.
