Rubio opposes independent investigation of Benghazi

Are they all corrupt and rotten?
The GOP’s shining prince, Marco Rubio of Florida, who was elected to the U.S. Senate only two years ago, says he opposes an independent investigation into the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, which took the lives of four Americans, including that of Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

Javier Manjarres reports for Florida’s The Shark Tank, Nov. 26, 2012, that Rubio was the headliner at a rally for Israel held at a South Florida Jewish Community School last weekend, where he reiterated his support for America’s closest ally in the Middle East and took a few questions from the media as he exited the event.

Rubio expressed his deep concerns about the lack of security measures that the U.S. government was responsible for at its consulate in Benghazi, Libya which led to the murder of four Americans. He said:

“My number one concern about the Benghazi situation is that knowing it was a very dangerous place that was growing even more dangerous, the United States did not supply sufficient security for that consulate in Benghazi, and as a result, four brave Americans lost their lives.  We need to make sure how that happened, so that it never happens again.”

When asked whether an independent investigation was warranted to get to the bottom of what really happened both in the run up to the attack on the consulate and its aftermath, Rubio maintained that an independent investigation was not necessary.
Rubio, who sits on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and is privy to intelligence briefings, insisted that Congress was more than capable of conducting an investigation into the matter:

“I don’t think it has to be independent (investigation) the bottom line is that, the Congress is fully capable, I am on the intelligence committee, I am on the Foreign Relations committee in the Senate, I think that those committees are fully capable of investigating why there was not sufficient security provided to the personnel in Benghazi, and how that could’ve been prevented.”

One thing you’ve got to admit is that Rubio sure is a fast learner. In two years, he has already learned to become a consummate member of the politics-as-usual old boys’ network.

  1. He is looking towards 2016 is all he is doing. he is no better than Boehner (boner) and he is now part of the problem in more ways than one.
He is a TRAITOR in my opinion and why the GOP is on a fast track to becoming the new left.

  2. Well we are seeing the true GOP colors, and it is not red, white and blue…

  3. I am through with the repubelicans.

  4. I’m through with Rubio!

  5. Dear Mr. Rubio,
Who gave the order to stand down? Until we know the answer, we will ask questions. Has Congress asked General Ham his version of the story yet? Was the CIA running guns to the Muslim Brotherhood? That seems like a traitorous act to me, don’t you want answers?

  6. Was Rubio’s rise in Florida politics during Jeb Bush’s tenure as Governor? Just asking.

  7. Doc, in a word… YES! All one needs to do to realize this is to look at the decline and fall of this Great Nation since the inception of “The Great Society/Socialist” legislation of 1964 and all subsequebt socialist legislation. (Actually, one can trace the decline to the whack job the communist and the liberal left did on Joseph McCarthey after his Senate hearings. For further evidence, see M. Stanton Evans’ book, “Blacklisted by History.” In short, the Senator named 400 communist infiltrators in the U.S. Gov’t and was crucifird for it. Fastforward to 1991 and the fall of the Soviet Bloc anf the release of the Verona files naming all KGB agents INSIDE the U.S. Gov’t… 392 of the 400 names were in the Verona files!!!!!!)
Question: How does the MOST prosperous, powewrful, generous nation in the history of civilization now find itself in debt to the tune of $16 TRILLION and counting? And in debt to some of its mortal enemies? Answer: utter and complete corruption of all branches and all cabinet departments. How else could one explain the colossal failure and fraud of this nation to secure the most basic form of freedom, the secure election of its President and its representatives! Major FAIL on both and all fronts. Rubio is just the latest boy wonder of the private gentleman’s club. Same story, different verse. Unfortunately, there is no Justice, there’s “just us.” We, alone, the bearers of truth, as you do on a daily basis here Doc, must be the ones that bear the truth and the light to others… no matter what the cost, no matter the burden because at the end of it… the truth will set you and all of us free. Corny? Maybe. But at this point, is there really any other course? I didn’t think so. Fight is about all I have left, except maybe a goodly dose of piss and vinegar. May St. Michael the Archangel protect us in this and all coming battles.

    • Thank you, Locke. The first commitment of FOTM is and always will be to the truth, as best we know it, because God is Truth and Truth is God.

    • Correction: The VENONA Files, NOT the VERONA Files were the declassified KGB/NKVD files on Soviet/Communist infiltrators in the U.S. Gov’t as accused by Senator McCarthey

  8. Maybe,Rubio might believe there is enough evidence for Benghazi-Gate – that placing it in the hands of an independent investigation – might get corrupted
    just sayin’

  9. I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. He is RIGHT in saying that congress has the ways and means to do the investigation, it’s a matter of WILL they. Let’s all take a breath and see what happens. For now, let him try to do his job instead of jumping to conclusions. BUT, if it turns out he IS as corrupt as the rest, then I’m looking for a new party. Maybe the TEA Party will get it’s own candidate the will truly represent the people that elected them, instead of the users, losers, and entitlement assholes.

  10. Thank you Dr. Eowyn and Tina for this informative post. An independent investigation would either verify or not verify the facts found from the investigation that is being done by members of Congress. Rubio should welcome an independent “audit” so to speak of how the real facts have been exposed, or whether or not there are any more pertinent facts that need to be found.

  11. I’m pretty much fed up with politics after the last election. They all get corrupted sooner rather than later!

  12. I am through with all of them. Follow the money. Locke Enload-you are right, the rot and infiltration runs deep and has for many years. We took a major hit from GHW bush, he is a major player. All evidence gathered so far has hillary and obama running weapons to al-quieda,this is what they are trying to hide, along with money laundering. Remember the grand plan to create a one world government with a universal religion? Just read another mind blowing piece about S.Rice on she is one of the richest cabinet members investing in****** Iran. This whole charade has went far enough, these communists have waited a very long time for this, they have been asked nicely to resign, but are ignoring it. Sooooo.????
