Romney to America: Vote for love of country

The dictionary defines demagogue as a political leader who obtains power by means of impassioned appeals to the emotions and prejudices of the populace.

In other words, a demagogue exploits THE WORST in human nature for his own gain. Think Hitler — who built a cult of personality by exploiting German bigotry against Jews and, at the same time, stoking the German people’s narcissism by declaring them to be Übermensch, the Super Race.

In contrast, a good leader is one who appeals to THE BEST in us and who helps us to be our best and to do our best.

Therein lies the essential difference between Barry Soetoro Obama and Governor Mitt Romney.

Yesterday, at a rally in Springfield, Ohio, where Obamabots booed Romney, Obama told the crowd:

“Voting is the best revenge.”

In stark contrast, speaking at a rally of 30,000 in Ohio last evening, Romney asked the huge crowd of supporters: “Did you see what President Obama said today? He asked his supporters to vote ‘for revenge’–‘for revenge.’ Instead, I ask the American people to vote for love of country.”

In an email to his supporters, Romney writes:

“If you believe we can do better, if you believe America should be on a better course, if you are tired of being tired, then I ask you to vote for real change. Paul Ryan and I will bring real change to America, from Day One.”

There you have it:

The Good Leader vs. The Demagogue

Love vs. Hate

Good vs. Evil

The choice cannot be starker or clearer.

  1. You don’t have to convince me who to vote for. My mind was made up many moons ago.

  2. Viva Romney!… Viva Ryan!… Viva la Revolucion Americana del Partido del Te!.. Y Viva America!… que haya mejores tiempos para E.U.!

  3. Vote for revenge? What a leader….not.

Man, I pray this man is voted out!

  4. Yep. Both their sentiments are highly defensible to me. You could vote against Romney as revenge for the Tea Party wing of Congress forcing an abdication of its duty to pass laws in favor of an obstructionist agenda. They’ve earned our anger and disgust, and they deserve to be punished for putting the defeat of Obama over and above helping the country.

Or you could vote for Romney if you believe the fault for the slowness of improvement lies with Obama, and a new source of leadership is a better expression of your love of country.

The two opposing responses seem to me to cancel each other out. It’s a wash.

    • Invisible Mikey, your rhetoric is tired, weak and shallow. However, I will give you one credit for being strong enough to block the your itching desire to use the word, “racist.”

      • don’t worry, chris matthews already has accused romney of ‘racism’ for using Obama’s words against him. go figure, that’s all they got left in the tank… did i say ‘in the tank’? yup, i think i did

  5. This guy must be repudiated in a landslide on Tuesday.

  6. Never in my 60 years of life, have I seen a President so low class. I didn’t think anyone could bring the office down as low as Bill Clinton did, but this man has surpassed him on every level!

  7. My eight year old granddaughter is here and she asked me if I’d heard the president say a swear word. I said that I had. She said that she was very disappointed in him because he is supposed to be a role model for her and he didn’t set a good example! My daughter is unfortunately very liberal on a lot of issues but I was quite pleased that his inappropriate behavior was labeled offensive. I think even liberals are recognizing his failings.

  8. Reblogged this on Purposeful Pruning and commented:
As we used to say in Kansas growing up, “Nuff Said”

  9. Could you have ever imagined that America would have a President who would actually say “Vote for Revenge”? Inconceivable! This muslim marxist POS will be defeated on Tuesday and then maybe there will be many looking for revenge but not the way he anticipated.

  10. Well……………………………..perhaps Obama has changed his name to Revenge? Barack Hussein Soebamatoro Revenge? I guess his campaign manager was getting rather desperate when he came up with this idea? David Plouffter or David Axeman are pulling out all the stops. Thank goodness this portion of the current madness will have run it’s course by early next week, that is if there is electricity anywhere to be found to power voting machines and gas pumps so people can drive to the polls. Voting by candlelight?
    A fine romance……………………….NOT!!!!!!!!!

  11. Thank you Dr. Eowyn for this excellent post. The difference in the two men is simple: one is devoted to goodness, which is Gov. Romney; the other, Obama, is devoted to evil. People of America, please choose goodness over evil. Please choose God over the devil (over a Democratic party who declares in their platform to eliminate God from it!). I also pray that
God intervenes and eliminates through His methods, voter fraud and other evil actions that may affect the election. Vote for love of country, vote for Gov. Romney!

  12. Thanks Doc, for your unrelenting efforts. Keep praying, keep taking action, trust the Holy Spirit, and we will all see the hand of the Almighty.

  13. Thanks for posting this.. It’s been a pleasure to read 🙂
