Riots erupt in French showings of Hollywood demon doll movie

A fictional spectral figure named Slenderman led three teenage girls to attempted murder and mayhem. (See “The Devil is alive and well as Slenderman“)
The audience vomited during a satanic black-metal band’s performance, complete with a blood sacrifice. (See “Satanic black-metal band throws pig’s blood; audience vomit”)
Now, a Hollywood horror movie about a demonic doll, Annabelle, which was released worldwide on October 3, 2014, has been pulled from cinemas in France after movie-goers rioted.
Annabelle
Allanah Faherty reports for MoviePilot, Oct. 17, 2014, that cinemas in the cities of Marseille, Strasbourg and Montpellier in France have cancelled future screenings of Annabelle due to a security concern after huge crowds of youths packed theaters well over capacity (up to 1,000 people in a 450-seat theater) and began fighting, throwing popcorn, and ripping up seats.
The movie is based on the real story of a husband and wife who sought the help of paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Warrens eventually took the doll, Annabelle, and placed “her” in a secure case inside their Occult Museum. To prevent the demonic doll from harming anyone again, it is blessed by a priest twice a month.

Proper exorcism of the item in question and, if necessary, destruction of the item by fire should be the protocol for anything as such and with capacity to be that active. A priest going and blessing the thing so often doesn’t do anything to solve the actual problem, and further serves to steal time from the priest that he could be using to be of use to God… the priest and the couple have been relegated to being babysitters for a devil, it would seem, and that seems to be the point of the operation… stealing their time and spreading… Read more »

Since the movie is made from a “real story”, I would have to read the real story to find out why they didn’t burn the item instead of locking it away. I can only assume they DID burn it, but it “came back alive” afterward, but Only the real story will know. As far as the French reaction to a kids horror movie…. well…. I thought we (in the USA) were screwed up. I guess other countries have their own issues to deal with.

God help us, do we really need more of this in the world? All these foul movies do is draw young innocent people into the occult and away from gods grace. There’s enough evil in the world there is no need for horror movies in today’s world.
After a little investigation the story seems to be based of Robert the Doll. If true there is something truly wicked about that doll.

From the Wikipedia page: Supposedly, Eugene was given the doll in 1906 by a Bahamian servant who was skilled in black magic and voodoo and was displeased with the family. Soon afterward, the family supposed that there was something eerie about the doll. Neighbors claimed to have seen the doll moving from window to window when the family was out. Sometimes the doll would emit a terrifying giggle, and the Otto family caught glimpses of it running from room to room. In the night Eugene would scream, and when his parents ran to the room, they would find furniture knocked… Read more »

you can see part of the story in the movie ‘The Conjuring’…. based on the story of the ghost buster couple… the doll could be given a funeral with blessings and cremation rite or it could be treated like the evil undead vampires dismembered, buried with a stake driven through it… if you have a really good exorcist they can lead the suffering angry spirit to the Light and transform from evil to good, it is hard to find these kind of healers these days…. so the couple left it locked up in a case…

Thank you Dr. Eowyn for this fascinating post. The doll looks frightening and her eyes are dangerous. Look at them.
“St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray. And do thou Oh Prince of the Heavenly Host, by he power of God, thrust into hell, Satan, who prowls about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”
