Professor argues that illegal aliens can hurt US economy, prompting calls for his firing

Truth shall not be told.

From Fox News: A college professor in Georgia is drawing criticism for his online comments about illegal immigrants, including his contention that people in the U.S. illegally can be a drain on the nation’s economy.

“If you are going to reward illegal immigrants, there will be more illegal immigrants,” Fang Zhou, an associate professor of history at Georgia Gwinnett College near Atlanta, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Zhou says he welcomes the criticism, including from those who say he should lose his job, according to the report. “I am against political correctness,” Zhou, a legal immigrant from China, told the newspaper. “I speak truth to power in class and my students learn about the financial drain of illegal immigration on the economy and the high crime rates of illegal immigrants. My students are ‘woke’ and are overwhelmingly against illegal immigration after taking my class,” he added.

But Zhou told the paper he does not force students to share his opinions.

His critics, however, argue that many of Zhou’s assertions have been debunked and they object to some of the terms he uses in his comments, such as “libtards,” and “ghetto thugs.”

One such critic, according to the report, is Georgia state Rep. Bee Nguyen (demorat), the first Vietnamese-American elected to the state’s House of Representatives.Nguyen posted some of Zhou’s comments on Twitter this week and asked her followers: “Are these the values supported by Georgia Gwinnett College?”

“I have concerns about him teaching those things in a classroom,” Nguyen, a Democrat, told the Journal-Constitution. She noted that nearly 70 percent of the college’s students are either African-American, Asian or Hispanic, and planned to write to college officials to formally complain about Zhou.

College officials did not respond directly to the newspaper’s request for comment but shared the school’s “academic freedom policy,” which stipulates that faculty members are allowed to express their views “without fear of censure.”

The same policy, however, told faculty members that they “should remember that the public may judge” their profession and the college by what they say and write.

There is certainly nothing in this article that professor zhou claims, that can be “debunked”. The only term he used I object to is “woke” as it illustrates nothing but a lack of literacy.

Real shame that the reality of the folly of immigration must come from an immigrant. True National strength and security can only be maintained through very strict immigration policies. Open borders are an intentional invitation to infiltration and invasion.

How is it “debunked” that illegal invaders are a drain on the economy? So this is “PCU” now? Truth is whatever the Maoists say it is?

I don’t know how they do these things with a straight face. One gets the impression that they actually believe their own B.S.. If that is true they are not qualified to teach anyone anything.

For once we can find a man of the classroom, Professor Zhou, to tell the truth and not indoctrinate the students with the wrong philosophy.

The fact that Zhou has to almost apologize for telling the truth indicates that political correctness is a hammer the central banks use to beat people over the head with via universities. Let us not believe FOR ONE SECOND that we have academic freedom in America, for if we did, Zhou’s words would actually inspire confidence in the students and the illegal aliens and their sponsors would just have to grin and bear it. Well, we got to this point by a series of steps. Yes, a certain mental alchemy has been performed, over the past 60 to 70 years,… Read more »

Universities, they steal our tax money and then use it to churn out non thinking socialist drones. People need to boycott these money sucking garbage disposals of “higher learning”. They are the biggest money making SCAM out there.
I hope this professor sues them and wins. He dares to say the TRUTH, and gets fired for it? Oh yeah, sue them buddy! They deserve it.

This is what I wrote to this bastion of intolerance, Dr. Walker (feel free to copy if needed anybody): Dear Dr. Walker, I just read about the planned firing of Professor Zhou over his simple first amendment rights to free speech. I find it disappointing and reprehensible that a university like yours, funded partly by US tax dollars is allowed to terminate Professor Zhou just because some don’t like what he says. That smacks of autocratic intolerance! The hypocrisy is glaring. If you fire him, you are showing the true colors of your university, which are the colors of IN-tolerance,… Read more »
