Families of Navy SEALs killed in downed Chinook blame Obama and military brass

It was the elites-of-elites Navy SEAL Team 6 who, on May 2, 2011, broke into Osama bin Laden’s secret compound in Abbotabad, Pakistan, and assassinated the Al Qaeda leader. Team 6’s exploits greatly boosted Obama’s then-sagging ratings. The shameless POS also took personal credit for the achievement of Team 6.
Three months later, on August 6, 2011, 22 members of Navy SEAL Team 6 were among the 30 American servicemen and 8 Afghans who were killed when their Chinook helicopter (call sign Extortion 17) reportedly was shot down by Taliban rebels in Afghanistan. According to the New York Times, military officials said none of the crash victims had been on the Bin Laden mission.
This morning (May 9, 2013), the families of three SEALs (Aaron Vaughn, Michael Strange, John Faas) and a National Guardsman (Patrick Hamburger) who were killed in the Chinook crash, gave a press conference in the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Also present were retired U.S. military officers and politicians (Michele Bachmann and Allen West).
Here’s the video of the press conference, which is nearly 3 hours long.

In this post, I will report on the first part of the press conference.
The press conference began with Larry Klayman, president of Freedom Watch and founder of the citizen watchdog group, Judicial Watch, delivering the introductory remarks. Klayman summarized the families’ grievances as follows:

  • Obama and Joe Biden improperly revealed the identities of the Navy SEALs who were on the mission to assassinate Osama bin Laden, thereby putting “a target” on the backs of the SEALs.
  • The Chinook helicopter was “inadequate,” as was its pilot.
  • When the Chinook was attacked by the Taliban, our side “couldn’t return fire” and was “handcuffed.”
  • At the funeral in Bagram Airfield in Kabul, Afghanistan, for our servicemen, Jesus’ name couldn’t be mentioned but instead an imam prayed.

Next, a video of the funeral was shown (beginning at 0:14:50):
funeral1At the 0:17:37 mark, a military chaplain wearing a black stole said: “We will begin this … [inaudible] military …[inaudible] commend the souls of the departed into your loving care. Amen.”
funeral2
The chaplain immediately is followed by an imam reciting a Muslim prayer in Arabic. His face is partially obscured in this screen shot, but you can see he’s a Middle-Easterner:
funeral4Here’s the imam’s “prayer,” which the video translated into English. Words between brackets are the video-maker’s explanatory comments on the prayer:
“Amen. I shelter in Allah from the devil who has been cast with stones. In the name of Allah the merciful forgiver. The companions of the “fire” (the sinners and infidels who are fodder for hell fire) are not equal with the companions of heaven. The companions of heaven (Muslims) are the winners. Had we sent this Koran to a mountain, you would have seen the mountain prostrated in fear of Allah (mocking the God of Moses). Such examples are what we present to the people, so that they would think (repent and convert to Islam). Blessings are to your God (Allah), the God of glory of what they describe. And peace be upon the messengers (prophets) and thanks be to Allah the lord of both universes (mankind and Jinn).”
The video ends with a photo mosaic of the servicemen who were killed in the crash, followed by still shots of the downed Chinook:
funeral6funeral7The next speaker is Billy Vaughn, the impassioned father of Navy SEAL Aaron Vaughn.
funeral8
Vaughn began by saying his son was not on the “right chopper” that fateful day, August 6, 2011, because Obama had increased the number of special op missions from a monthly average of 56 in 2009, to 186/month in 2010, to as many as 334 a month between August 2010 and July 2011, a month before his son died in the Chinook crash. A direct result of the radical increase in the number of special op missions was the scarcity of available MH-47 copters. Vaughn maintains that if his son had gone on a MH-47 that night, he would have had a better chance of surviving the fire fight.
Vaughn continues:
“But according to a 3-star [Vice] Admiral [Robert] Harward‘s statement to the grieving families that day, ‘We want to win the hearts and minds of the enemy.’ Aaron Vaughn did not become a Navy SEAL Team Six to win the hearts and minds of jihadists. He became a Navy SEAL to fight for this [American] Republic and defeat the enemy.
Any American flag officer who does not want to defeat the enemy needs to find another job. Any man who sits in that White House who does not want to defeat … ….
I have two questions: Why did they [Aaron and the other servicemen] not ride in the right chopper? Why did they not shoot down the enemy? …
The record will show that the Islamists are responsible for the deaths of the Americans. But I submit to you today that the U.S. government and many high-ranking military people own more credit for the shoot down than the Taliban. Political correctness, building the esteem of the Afghans, leveling of the playing field, and failure by the Obama Administration to name the enemy and to accurately identify the savage ideology our warriors are up against have made possible … [inaudible]. This administration apparently went to extreme efforts to make sure that the enemy Osama bin Laden had a proper burial. Our president was outraged when the Koran was burnt. But then those who die for the Republic (pointing his finger at the video screen behind him, referring to the funeral at Bagram), this is allowed to go on. To steal their First Amendment rights, to steal their religious rights, to be violated by Islam.
General [Joseph] Votel, it is sad that our troops are under your command. It is sad, General, after the imam damned our warriors, you stood and talked about how we’re one, about how we’re brothers.
Mr. Obama, President Obama, you need to step up or step down. You must step up and defend our warriors.  You must step up and show the outrage that you have shown when the religion of Islam is disrespected….
I tell you today, we have sheep and wolves in high places, and they are getting our sheepdogs killed unnecessarily. But I will also tell you today, that no plan of Hell or scheme of man can separate Aaron Vaughn from the love of God that is Jesus Christ, our Lord. Not the imam or Washington, DC.  Aaron’s God is the God of the Bible.”

Aaron_VaughnAaron C. Vaughn, Navy Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL), 30, left behind a wife, 2-year-old son, and a 2-month-old daughter.

If you don’t tear up at the anguished cries of Aaron Vaughn’s dad, then your heart must be as black and stony as President Lucifer’s — assuming he actually has one.

  1. I watched this live and I cried… We have been infiltrated by the bastards and only 40% of Americans are even minimally aware of it. Keep doing what you are doing. I’m sure soon we’ll be called to stand shoulder to shoulder to hang on to our country.

  2. obama and his ilk are evil and worse than evil. If we don’t elect a majority of conservative American patriots we are lost. I honestly don’t have words for how this press conference makes me feel. I pray that God is exposing the evil among us so clearly that even the idiots can’t miss the signs.

  3. Thank you Dr. Eowyn for this post.
Thank God there are some people whose moral compass points True North. And thanks to these brave parents, this story will become inescapable to the SRM (State Controlled Media). MSNBC and all their demonic brood will choke trying to spin this one.

  4. Staggering. And I’m a strong 268 lbs, still working, yet still shaken.
I pray that all these treasonous bastards be brought to justice before the Summer’s out. This is the message I attached to my email of this to my long list. Tears.

  5. This sucks– kissin’ butts of folk who disrespect our dead. 🙁

  6. FoxNews has begun to pick up the story of the SEALs and their parents. It was a bit wishy washy at first on Fox and Friends, but now they’re doing it in earnest.

  7. Remember Obama changed his story about how the Bin Laden raid went down — even though he and Hillary were seen on nationwide news watching the live video unfold. They would surely have an interest in silencing anyone who might contradict their story.

  8. Thank you Dr. Eowyn for this incredible post. It is a horrific outrage what was said at their funerals, and to eradicate the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ is unconscienable! There is no question in my mind that this king and his regime are evil to the core. It is my prayer that these fallen heroes see Our Lord Jesus Christ, the beautific vision, and that they have no more pain, no more suffering and are experiencing absolute joy.

  9. diversity a buzz word that means nothing glancing at the photo above of those killed no minorities present. it seems obama and his administration are exceedingly adept at killing white men. the chinook debacle and the benghazi incident plus during the first year of his whatever more us soldiers where killed in afghanistan then during the entire 8 years under bush

  10. Republicans in the House of Rep. has launched an investigation of the helicopter crash that killed 30 Americans in Afghanistan, including members of the Navy’s elite SEAL Team 6 unit. The investigation is undertaken by the House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee on National Security, chaired by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), one of the good guys.

  11. there is a new book coming called “Betrayed” this is written by Billy Vaughn Aaron’s father, and the very well respected (ret) Major General Paul E. Vallely. You can order this right now at standupamericaus.org. Thankyou to Jason Chaffetz.

  12. Allright assholes now take your fucking blind patriotisms and shove it up your fucking asses. This guy chose to become a navy seal and he know or ought to know all the risks of the job. He was on an active mission and he got killed, that’s how it goes in combat, soldiers get killed!!! Stop looking for pathethic excuses like he was on the wrong chopper, it’s a god damn war what right and wrong choppers are you talking about, like every soldier has a permanent chopper with his name on it as a means of aerial transport. The war is bigger than the lives of those 30 soldiers. Without winning the heart and minds of the locals you are not going to win the war, unless you bomb the living shit out of the country, and I believe according to Aaron father, that’s exactly why he became a Seal, not to mention that Americans are experts in indiscriminately bombing the population of a country you invade illegally, like Iraq, Afganistan, Pakistan, Serbia. I’m not defending those muslims, im not one and I could not give less fuck about them, but let me remind you that if it wasn’t for your strong airforce providing non-stop support to your troops in combat, your so called super soldiers would not even be able to take a fucking inch from those mountain desert monkeys. You are no warriors, you have no hearts to fight, that’s why all your military hardware is doing all the work, don’t forget that.

    • To the idiot who fancies himself another “George Carlin”:
F this. F that. Do you have words other than the F-word in your woefully limited vocabulary?
Your IP address says you’re in Nootdorp, Netherlands. I suggest you mind your own business and spend your apparently abundant spare F-time&energy on your own country’s problems.

    • Netherlands, huh? I believe it was our Air Force and our military, which you take such issue with, that bailed you, France, and a whole lot of other countries out of World War II.
BTW, George Carlin was a man of great wit and shrewd insight. I find neither in your post.

    • Hey Georgie Boy, you kinda walked into this one. See there just happens to be an update to this story. It seems the “Washington Times” has done a little investigative story on it dated 10-20-13. I’ll give you just the second paragraph to stick up your arse.
“The investigative file made available to The Washington Times shows that the helicopter’s landing zone was not properly vetted for threats nor protected by gunships, while commanders criticized the mission as too rushed and the conventional Chinook chopper as ill-suited for a dangerous troop infiltration.”

      Choke on this you PUKE!!!.
Just checked and it says the population of the Netherlands is 16.7 Mil.
Better be careful or we’ll send over a couple hundred Spec Ops guys and kick your whole country’s arse.
In closing may I say from the bottom of My heart, and I mean this sincerely.
