Obama's Dead Cat Bounce

A bkeyser design

Obama enjoyed an uptick in his approval numbers right after his State of the Union Not True speech on January 27, seemingly reversing a steady downward trend.
Sadly, that uptick was as ephemeral as dew drops in the morning sun, or less poetically, it was merely a dead cat bounce.
Today’s Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows that only 26% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President, whereas a whopping 43% Strongly Disapprove. This gives Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -17
Overall, 56% of voters disapprove of Obama’s performance, with only 44% of voters saying they at least somewhat approve. That matches the lowest level of overall approval yet measured for this president.
