Obama’s Blue Shirts: Homeland Security graduates 1st class of FEMA Youth Corps

The United States has the most powerful military in the world, comprised of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. If that formidable military is insufficient to defend America, then nothing is.

Despite that, Barack Obama uttered these astonishing words during the 2008 presidential campaign. On July 2, 2008, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the POS deviated from his pre-released speech script and said the following:

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

Obama never explained what he meant by “a civilian national security force.” But Rahm Emanuel, who was Obama’s first White House Chief of Staff, did say in a 2006 interview with the New York Daily News that all Americans aged 18-25 should be inducted into “universal civil defense training” — in effect, a civilian army. Emanuel’s idea is also contained in his co-authored book, The Plan. Here’s the audio of the interview:

All of which is not only evocative of the Hitler Jugend (Hitler Youth Movement) and the Soviet Union’s Leninist Young Pioneers, it is also against a federal law, the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878. Here’s what Wikipedia says:

“The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385) passed on June 18, 1878, after the end of Reconstruction, with the intention… of substantially limiting the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement. The Act prohibits most members of the federal uniformed services (today the Army, Air Force, and State National Guard forces when such are called into federal service) from exercising nominally state law enforcement, police, or peace officer powers that maintain ‘law and order’ on non-federal property (states and their counties and municipal divisions) within the United States. The statute generally prohibits federal military personnel and units of the National Guard under federal authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States, except where expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress. The Coast Guard is exempt from the Act during peacetime.”

Fast forward four years from Obama’s 2008 civilian-army speech.

On September 13, 2012, the Obama administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) graduated its first class of FEMA Corps. On that day, 240 young adults ages 18 to 24 were sworn into service at an induction ceremony in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Since FEMA Corps specifically recruits young people, we may just as well call them the FEMA Youth Corps. And since they all wear royal-blue t-shirts, I suggest we call them Obama’s Blue Shirts.

What is FEMA Corps? This is what DHS says (I’ve embedded links to Wikipedia entries on CNCS and NCCC):

“FEMA Corps is an innovative partnership between the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) to enhance disaster response and recovery capacity while expanding career opportunities for young people.

Established as a new unit within the existing AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), FEMA Corps engages young adults ages 18 to 24 to provide ten months of full-time service on disaster response and recovery projects. Members will be deployed to assignments ranging from working directly with disaster survivors to supporting disaster recovery centers to sharing disaster response and mitigation information with the public.”

At the September 13 induction ceremony, members of the inaugural FEMA Corps class took the AmeriCorps pledge to “get things done for America” and heard from agency leaders about the important work that lies ahead.  FEMA Deputy Administrator Richard Serino and CNCS CEO Wendy Spencer were on hand to welcome the members and thank them for their commitment to service (see pic below).

This is the AmeriCorps pledge taken by the FEMA Youth Corps:

“I will get things done for America – to make our people safer, smarter, and healthier.
I will bring Americans together to strengthen our communities.
Faced with apathy, I will take action.
Faced with conflict, I will seek common ground.
Faced with adversity, I will persevere.
I will carry this commitment with me this year and beyond.
I am an AmeriCorps member, and I will get things done.”

“I will get things done” — what “things”? Contrast the AmeriCorps/FEMA Youth Corps pledge to the oath taken by everyone who enlists in the U.S. military:

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

On May 24, 2002, Representatives Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) and Tim Roemer (D-IN) introduced the 2002 Citizen Service Act (HR 4854) to add to the AmeriCorp pledge references to God and the Constitution. AmeriCorps members would be called upon to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States…without any mental reservation…So help me God.” But  the proposal stirred an outcry among current and former AmeriCorp participants who argued that the proposed pledge was divisive, “militaristic and religious,” and might deter recruitment. Although the Citizen Service Act was approved by both the Subcommittee on Special Education and the Committee on Education and the Workforce in June 2002, the House of Representatives took no further action on the Measure, and the AmeriCorps pledge remains unchanged.

According to DHS, the first class of FEMA Youth Corps had taken one month of AmeriCorps NCCC training and FEMA position-specific training. The Blue Shirts will now be deployed to their first assignments, supplementing existent reservist workforce in assisting citizens and communities who have been impacted by disasters.

After completing 1,700 hour of service, FEMA Youth Corps members will receive a $5,550 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to pay for tuition or pay student loans.  Members will gain significant training and experience in disaster services that can serve as a pathway to employment in the emergency management profession.

FEMA Youth Corps members will be based out of five AmeriCorps NCCC campuses across the country: Sacramento, Calif.; Denver, Colo.; Vinton, Iowa; Perry Point, Md.; and, Vicksburg, Miss. The program will engage 1,600 members annually when fully operational next year.

The blog FromTheTrenches observes that:

“While the idea of having a volunteer force of tens of thousands of volunteers scattered across the country to aid in times of natural disasters sounds great, the details and timing of this new government army is somewhat curious, if not disturbing. […]

Unlike most local disaster response teams who are volunteers, training periodically and only showing up when there’s a disaster, the FEMA Corps will be a paid, full time, standing army of government youth. […]

Over the past two years, President Obama has signed a number of Executive Orders suspending all civil and Constitutional rights and turning over management of an America under Martial Law to FEMA. Also in that time, domestic federal agencies under DHS, including FEMA, have ordered billions of rounds of ammunition as well as the corresponding firearms. Admittedly, these new weapons and ammunition aren’t to be used in some far-off war or to fight forest fires in California, but right here on the streets of America.

Individuals around the US have begun reporting the site of strange, new, heavily-armed FEMA fighting vehicles. What would a disaster relief agency like FEMA need with 2,500 brand new GLS armored fighting vehicles? According to the agency’s own mandate, as well as President Obama’s recent Executive Order, the answer is ‘population control’ during a time of Martial Law. […]

What is the US federal government preparing for? And why does it feel it needs an army of brainwashed youth, millions of guns, thousands of armored fighting vehicles and literally billions of rounds of ammunition, just to provide relief to the American people during a natural disaster? Any historian will tell you it sounds more like the arming of the Hitler Youth than an army of first responders fighting forest fires and hurricanes.”

UPDATE (Nov. 12, 2012):

Where was the newly-graduated class of FEMA Youth Corps in all the cities and places devastated by Hurricane Sandy? There was not even a single reported sighting of an Obama Blue Shirt. Not one.

  1. And people claim we’re extreme or nuts when we say that Obama’s following in the footsteps of Hitler and Stalin. The proof is in this administration’s actions.

    • This is why we study history…its easy to see the truth

      • EXACTLY, and the first thing I learned about history when I took it in university was that people only rarely learn from it. What REALLY breaks one’s mentation apart is to learn that the second thing we learn from history [and this follows, of course, from the first], is that we do not have a SINGLE instance of any society anywhere that gave up sufficient privileges from its lifestyle to avoid either revolution or collapse.

Now THAT’s sobering in the extreme, and is why I cannot believe we are the supremely intelligent species, one that deserves to rule above all the Creation. When I was able to study the Hebraic texts of Genesis, what it does say is that we are in a ‘bondage relationship,’ NOT one of a steward-ruler.

Hebrew is subtle: what’s meant is that we’re to care for the Creation appropriately, and then it will care for us. Our track record leaves a LOT to be desired, IMO, in the ‘appropriate’ department….

  2. Gee, those similarities…

  3. Okay, Dr. Eowyn,

You are officially scaring me right now. This is too plausible!
Rule one: Teach your kids to shoot.

  4. With a landslide Romney victory impending, this looks like part of a terrifying “Plan-B” for the shadowy figures who control Obama.

If you understand the power of prayer, then take this subject to higher authority. If the Lord were to open our eyes, we would see there is a heavenly army all around us that makes Obama’s forces look like nothing.

We will win this one, and there will be remarkable things to follow.

  5. Many, many thanks Eo for the VERY splendid compilation and extrapolation you magickly performed on my single news article! As soon as my 69 yr old eyes saw this I also saw ‘Hitler Youth Corps’ and ‘Stalin’s ‘Young Pioneers’ as well. This is SO bad that any & all who read it should be converted on the spot, it’s that bad.

We have here deliberate subversion of youth at their most vulnerable, when they seek a mentor [who, IMO, should be Christ], but instead get a supra-worldly wannabe dictator, our very own Obamamama, creator of the first fascist nanny state! I’m getting sick now….

  6. No, seriously, the Pig does make me ill, so I had to leave this site and my computer to make dinner for my house mates. Get thee behind me, Satan!!

  7. Satan. Yes, or course. The Black Muslim Socialist Facist Satan again.

How do YOU propose we help disaster victims? Train 20,000 people in emergency procedures in six hours? Is it CRAZY to keep trained people available to assist when there’s another Katrina? Or is it CRAZY to make up evil intentions for valid functions of government.

    • Gosh, Dave D, I just re-read my post and the 9 comments preceding yours, but I find not even ONE mention of Satan!

      Who’s the crazy one now?

      • I quote the posting directly above mine….why couldn’t you see it? Perhaps you have a little crazy in you?

No, seriously, the Pig does make me ill, so I had to leave this site
and my computer to make dinner for my house mates. Get thee
        behind me, Satan!!

        • “Get thee behind me, Satan” is an expression originating in a quote made by Jesus. Joseph was expressing his feelings of disgust and his desperate need to escape. You took his reference to Satan literally.

          • Dave D said “House Mates” is he even from the USA? Just curious!

            • Hi, Miranda!

I was born in 1943 in Chicago; my parents were legal immigrants who left the Old World and its problems behind them. They did take lessons away from it, and one was eternal vigilance for the root causes of fascism, which Mussolini said/wrote should more correctly be termed ‘corporatism’, as it was the marriage of the State and corporate capitalism, just as Eisenhower warned in his departing Address to the nation.

I immigrated to Canada in 1969, age 26, leaving behind me a very good business in the Berkeley area of California. I was seeking a peaceful, quiet place to have a family, and I found it in the rural part of S-E BC, 40 acres for C$ 3500.00. Those were the days, for sure!

It’s common here in BC to use ‘house mates’ to refer to non-related people who pay equal shares in the house rent, but we’re not married to the structure! I hope this helps.

          • I didn’t take it literally, any more than I thought Joseph meant that Obama was literally a “Pig” or others mean that he is literally a “POS”. I apologize for misquoting the correct spelling of “fascist” used by Joseph. However, if one gets used to referring to people that way, it will surely color your perceptions of objective events of the day. Young people trained to be helpful, truthful, brave, trustworthy, cheerful…. oh wait, that’s that other paramilitary organization, the Boy Scouts. FEAR FOR YOUR LIVES!! The young ones even wear BLUE!!!!

            • Now you’re comparing Obama’s FEMA Youth Corps to the Boy Scouts? Good grief, how absurd. The Boy Scouts are NOT a government program, but a private organization. But if FEMA Youth Corps were to change their pledge to the Boy Scouts’ oath, I would be better disposed toward them. Here’s the Boy Scouts’ Oath:

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
              and to obey the Scout Law;
              To help other people at all times;
              To keep myself physically strong,
              mentally awake, and morally straight.

As for your lecturing us on using words such as “Pig” and “POS” — that’s precious. You should look in the mirror. You came onto this blog and the first comment you write is to condemn us and call us “crazy.”

Now, if you really want to be taken seriously, ANSWER KATHY’S QUESTIONS!

        • Dave –whoever you are– do you know that people who casually sling out at others as ‘crazy’ are all-too-often themselves in need of medical therapy or pastoral counselling? As they experience the void within themselves and look into their personal abyss, fear overcomes them and they lash out in extremis.

Saint Paul understood this well in himself, and he became strong enough because of his beliefs and values that he could ADMIT his deficits, and his need to deal w/them, lest he be known as a hypocrite. You might want to look at the Greek origin of ‘hypocrite’, by the bye. As Paul admits [Romans 7; 14 and on] “…what I do is not what I want to do, but what I detest.” I’m certain that when you charge others as being ‘crazy’ you are not at your highest and best self. Instead, anger and condemnation rule your heart and head, and in that time you suffer the judgement you heap upon others.

We are not here to hurt you; you took it that way wrongly, and so became roused to dispute in anger. “Be still, and know that I, your Lord God, am with you always.” However you conceive the logos of our universe and the Creation, and I’m certain you do have a belief system w/values, know that you are NOT the target.

    • Yo, GF! You give him considerable credit for reading w/comprehension, but I do NOT. As you pointed out, were this fool after useful info he could have obtained it. No, just another mindless troll.

    • Excellent questions, Kathy! 😀

    • We’ve got people trained at city, county, and state levels to respond to emergencies. We’ve also got the Red Cross. And many people are self sufficient, with emergency responses in place (myself included after a major earthquake and rain storm & electric outage, emergency kits/supplies in my home/car).

This is another racket by this admin to expand fed govt employees and God knows what else…

  8. Dr. Eowyn; I believe the first graduating class of 240 young audlts should be sent to Detroit….
What better place to enact the AmeriCorps complete pledge, (in a Hopeless Liberal Disaster), to assist citizens and communities; impacted by this endless man-made disaster?

  9. Thank you Dr. Eowyn for this most informative post. Clearly, the king is using youth simnilar to what Hitler did because they indeed are, easily influenced and impressionable, idealistic and ready to follow. If the king really did have the safety and welfare of our nation in mind, he would invite all people of whatever age to join such a force, inasmuch as many people would have invaluable experience as a result of their professionals or experiences in their lives.

    • Thank you and excellent point, Joan!

There’s also this: Obama DHS’s conjuring of a FEMA Youth Corps implies that America’s existing national (FEMA), state (National Guards), and private (e.g., Red Cross) rescue personnel are woefully inadequate — of which there is ZERO evidence.

      • Excellent point! I also think the king has conjured up this youth organization because he sees himself as a messiah, someone that the youth can follow, which feeds his narcissism. During the last debate, his narcissism was evident by his strutting, his contemptuous and all-knowing smiles and his “how dare you question me” demeanor. I find that everything the king does has some attachment to how much glory he can obtain.

  10. JOBS…we have traded equality for prosperousness (Dennis Prager 11/17/12), forget about it!!!! The “rich” get taxed (who can give jobs), people are getting laid off because employers cannot afford Obamacare so they cut down employees across the USA, social security & medical benefits are looking grim, a broke gov printing money (40 Billion per mo. as of 1 mo. before election) a sign of ruin & later HYPERINFLATION, many gov jobs will have to be cut back, military will be coming home & need jobs, many pensions are unaffordable, & the gov still don’t want cut their own elaborate benefits = The Greatest Depression. I’d say they need a decent mathematician BAD! They had best hurry up on a GOOD decision, we are on a sinking ship that’s on fire!!!!

Our currency is being devalued as YOU read this. This is time to only keep minimal money in the bank too – I do not trust them, do so at your own peril. Silver appreciates & if bought in small increments can be traded as real currency easily, not true with the bigger increments. Gold is too expensive presently, but if you have it to invest – do so, but it is not good for small items on the street when the dollar goes bust. FDIC is broke just like the government.

Call ahead of time to make sure the dealers have enough or they may be sold out. A place I know sold out last week & this week – a sign of things to come…

There was not enough jobs before all this, wait till Obamacare kicks in next year…Right now the mathematical strategists are just anticipating…We had mass layoffs across the USA within 2 days after election!

Storing food, etc. is an extra good idea now too!

After the FISCAL CLIFF (nice wording for depression), I we should later be looking for the point at which to invest in the stock market that will crash with everything including the present attempt at a 1 World government, bank & currency change & try to ride the stocks back up, with anything left of the market….That will be the rainbow after the storm! Many became millionaires doing that after the Great Depression.

    May GOD bless us!!!!!!!!!!

You may share this, but please delete my personal info. Thank you!!!!! I already know that many will not listen, & we are running out of time. I have anticipated this for 5 years, & that is my inspiration behind watching the market like a hawk (or American Eagle) for the RATS! Don’t be shocked that there are naysayers, sometimes you can only save yourself!!!

  11. This is some scary stuff to contemplate. “Population Control ” under martial law?! WTF?
I am buying all the ammo and new weapons I can carry and my vehicle to get me out into the middle of nowhere is ready to go. F Obama and F his executive orders!

  12. If we had a ready standing army of volunteers, waiting to offer relief in times of disaster, then why is FEMA of absolutely no use to the victims of Hurricane Sandy and similar opportunities to prove a benign intent to their existence?

  13. And don’t we have the National Guard for such things? Gov.’s can call out their own troops, as they consider themselves “Citizen Soldiers”, as per that song my son loved so much when he was in the WVANG. They’re not all evil and willing to shoot us on the spot. They take all ages, they swear to uphold the Constitution, they know their neighbors family and friends, so it would be hard to treat them ill, (shooting them, herding them in camps, whatever) and there are SOOO many skills and abilities available due to the wide selection of folks involved. I know I trust too much, but that’s why *I* believe FEMA is keeping so much ammunition even from the cops, cuz they’re even less likely to shoot their friends, family and neighbors, except the corrupt folks of ANY organization, except for the Red Cross, which in my eyes is 100% corrupt. Sure, give them money to help, a great big whopping of all of TWO CENTS of every dollar will make it to the folks that need it! Check it out, unless they’ve reformed their ways since Andrew.

  14. Reblogged this on AMERICAN BLOGGER: GUNNY.G ~ WEBLOG.EMAIL and commented:

  15. Obama needs his own personal army because he knows the military won’t support him. In fact, I’m surprised the military hasn’t demanded his resignation already.
It would be interesting to see how these civilian national defense corp go up against the real army. I don’t think they will prove to be much of a challenge.

  16. So help us all, God!! A trillion thanks for this, Dr. Eowyn, a reminder that we had better watch our backs, fronts and sides….

  17. We all know Obama is gathering his own army, who swear to do whatever the dictator tells them to do..Hopefully they won’t have to fight the American people …..The poor kids really don’t know what they are joining…

  18. Dr Eowyn, thank you for this information. Do you have any updated material? I will look at the site further once I hit post.

They are building up for a war.. but the war will be against us. They will probably hit us with a type of plague to kill off some numbers and cause chaos. Can be watching the “Dollar Drop” which will cause the same amount of chaos. They can start using HAARP on us even more than messing with our weather. Natural disasters like earth quakes and much more. They have the ability and have had it. Reagan’s Star Wars program from the 80’s works just like Nikola Tesla said it would.

And people still can’t see the truth. It’s really too much information when you have little base of knowledge. This is not a simple subject and so much misinformation is out that it clouds what’s really going on. The FED’s, CFR, and Bilderberg’s are the link to the Puppet Masters. They are the enemy. Obama, Hillary know the CFR very well.

I do sound crazy. I’m crazy…… crazy as a Fox.

I know we are screwed… the mystery is when and how.

  19. What a bunch of fuckin’ dumbasses. You people have not one clue what NCCC or FEMA Corps are. Go ahead and start your little piss ant revolution. There are plenty of liberals who know how to shoot, too, and we won’t roll over and play nice for you ass hats.

    • “There are plenty of liberals who know how to shoot, too, and we won’t roll over and play nice for you ass hats.”
