“My job is to be so persuasive that if there’s anybody left out there who is still not sure whether they will vote, or is still not clear who they will vote for, that a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany … and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama” – Barack Obama, at the Lebanon Opera House, New Hampshire. January 7, 2008
Do you remember presidential candidate Obama saying that in 2008? Sure sounds like a post-hypnotic suggestion, doesn’t it? For that matter, there is an article on the website of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, dated October 25, 2008, on precisely this. (CLICK HERE)
We’ll probably never really know. What we do know is that countless Americans are now emerging into daylight, as if they’ve awaken from an induced stupor.
Since Obama became president, his approval ratings have gone down — steadily, systematically, inexorably. But that hasn’t stopped him or the Congressional Dems in their determination to ram socialist policies down our collective throat.
Now, an Allstate/National Journal Heartland Monitor poll shows that a majority of Americans have major buyer’s remorse. 50% say they would vote for someone else if the election were held today; 37% say they would definitely cast a ballot against Obama. Just 39% would vote to re-elect Obama to a second term, with only 23% saying they definitely would do so.
Only 34% say the country is moving in the right direction, down 13 points since April, while a whopping 55% say America is off on the wrong track, up 13 points over the same period.
The poll, conducted by Financial Dynamics, surveyed 1,200 adults between Jan. 3-7 for a margin of error of +/- 2.8%. Full poll results are available here [pdf].
