New York City businesses face fine up to $250,000 if they don't use gender correct pronouns

You WILL accept and comply.

Via Daily Mail: A law in New York City will fine businesses and employers if they violate a person’s human rights by not using their preferred ‘gender pronoun.’
Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Commission on Human Rights appears to have updated the law on ‘Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Expression’ to include businesses, employees and landlords who fail to refer to transgender people as terms such as ‘ze’ and ‘hir’.
They will be in violation of the New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL), that forces employers and ‘converted entities to use an individual’s preferred name, pronoun and title (e.g., Ms./Mrs.) regardless of the individual’s sex assigned at birth, anatomy, gender, medical history, appearance, or the sex indicated on the individual’s identification,’ according to the guidance information on the city’s website.
The Commission on Human Rights issued a ‘legal enforcement guidance’ for the law, and notes that some people would prefer non-gender-binary pronouns, including ‘they/them/theirs or ‘ze/hir.’
Several examples of violations that could result in businesses or employers paying fines are listed in the guidance that was released. ‘Intentional and repeated refusal to use an individual’s preferred name, pronoun or title,’ the guidance reads.  ‘For example, repeatedly calling a transgender woman ‘him’ or ‘Mr.’ after she has made clear which pronouns and title she uses.’
Interestingly enough, the new guidance for the NYCHRL also suggests how businesses and employers can avoid violations by implementing a policy of ‘asking everyone what their preferred gender pronoun is so that no individual is singled out for such questions.’ It also adds that businesses and employers should update their systems to ‘allow all individuals to self-identify their names and genders.’
Furthermore, the guideline states that if a business finds out that its employees or patrons ‘refuse to use a transgender employee’s preferred’ pronoun, they should be kicked out or fired immediately from the position since they aren’t complying with the NYCHRL.
If found in violation and depending on several factors of the situation, ‘the Commission can impose civil penalties up to $125,000 for violations,.’ For violations that are ‘the result of willful, wanton, or malicious conduct’ the fine could go up to $250,000.

I love watching American politics. It’s like watching Monty Python. Say goodnight America! You’re toast.

This is discriminatory in itself – it discriminates against those who OWN anything. If you don’t own anything they can chase you all they like for their fine, but if you have a home or a business (in other words you are more likely to be Republican?) they are going to take it away from you. This is a way of silencing the middle class, surely?

THIS is what Ted Cruz was talking about when he maligned New York City values. Ted made a tactical mistake, but not a moral one. The clowns who keep getting elected in that city are elected by its voters, on whom all the blame belongs. There a a multitude of great people in NYC, but not quite enough to keep the fools out of power. (I am from the Boston area. My area has earned the same rebuke.)

THIS is total insanity…in addition to being sick. Ze and Hir???????? What if someone is a man who is dressed like a woman and still looks like a man? What is they want to be referred to as a man? How do you really know anymore? So what about those that speak very poor English? What if someone calls me ma’am and I don’t like it? Do I take offense and file a complaint? Our government and it seems the mayor, are looking to start a Civil War.

If you’re speaking to one of these freaks, when would you ever use “ze” or those other third- person neologisms? Doesn’t it come down to a third party overhearing the “wrong” pronoun and reporting a situation in which there’s no victim present and so no harm, real or farcical? Who calls anyone Mr or Mrs these days anyway, so the solution and a good laugh is referring to Bruce as Caitlin, if that’s what ze/hir wants, until ze/hir changes ze/hir’s mind again. This leftist self-immolation is so absurd and buffoonish we may be in for some great laughs shortly as… Read more »

If corporations are people, don’t they have freedom of speech? If they are fined, why not assess fines for other people as individuals for offending fellow (?) human beings with unacceptable forms of address? Including words selected from the Carlin List, Including being called a female canine, illegitimate, or a fulfiller of incestuous oedipal desires? If an offending pronoun is worth $250,000, the national debt could be paid quickly through fine issued with such language. Start with word usage in the office of the Mayor of Chicago .

This is the sort of government tyranny the 2nd Amendment exists to deal with should the courts somehow fail to stop this lunacy in its tracks.
If they don’t knuckle under and pay the fine (or are unable to pay it) are they going to be thrown into the slammer? Have their property confiscated? Will they be packed off to a FEMA concentration camp?
