Never let a crisis go to waste: VA Democrat governor signs 2 gun control bills

America and the world are in a pandemic and economic meltdown.

But, like Satan, the Left don’t sleep. Ever.

They are tireless and relentless in advancing their agenda, especially gun control and abortion (Democrats tried to insert funding for abortion in the coronavirus “stimulus” bills).

Elections have consequences.

Virginia was considered a β€œswing” state in presidential elections. On Tuesday, November 6, 2019, the state became a solid β€œblue”.Β With Democrats already holding the state’s three highest offices (governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general),Β after two years of Republican control in the state House and Senate by single-seat majorities,Β the voters of Virginia saw fit to give Democrats full control of the state governmentΒ for the first time since 1994.

Virginia’s pro-abort Gov.Β Ralph Northam (D) and the Democrat-controlled state legislature wasted no time in pushing their gun control agenda, in spite of Virginians’ protests against the agenda via the formation of Second Amendment sanctuaries, militias, and a massive gun-rights rally. See:

AWR Hawkins reports for Breitbart that last Friday, April 10, 2020, Gov. Northam signed two gun-control bills creating universal background checks and limiting law-abiding Virginians to one handgun purchase per month.

The two bills, now laws, are:

  1. SB 70/HB 2 that, by creating the universal background checks, thereby outlaws private gun sales.
  2. SB 69/HB 812 limits Virginians to one handgun purchase a month, and in so doing, presumably helps to curtail stockpiling of firearms and trafficking.

Northam used a tweet to refer to these gun controls as β€œcommonsense gun safety measures,” but he did not mention that they would not have prevented the May 31, 2019 Virginia Beach shooting that he used as an impetus for gun control.

He also signed other controls into law, including requirements that gun owners report stolen firearms within 48 hours of the theft or face β€œcivil penalty.” This puts the onus for a gun theft on the gun owner, rather than the criminal who stole the firearm.

I thought I read awhile ago that SB 70 exempted background checks for transfers between family members. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the final bill removed that text.

Seems to me like the fact that Virginia going full Demonrat indicates one of 2 things. Either they’re facing the same battle as Nevada, where 2 or 3 Cities are full of idiots but have enough population to carry a majority vote,or they’re ALL too stupid to be allowed to vote. I know we have several residents from Virginia among us,and,of course, they aren’t with the rest. They’re the EXCEPTIONS to the “too stupid to be allowed to vote” rule, but, like me,they belong to the REST of their State-the BEST of the State, the part with common sense.

Remember Peter Strozk and his girl toy, fellow FBI employee, Lisa Page? Weren’t they famously dis-enthralled with all the “supposedly great unwashed VA public, the WalMart shoppers they could SMELL” once you get 100 miles outside the VA beltway around D.C.? Well, there’s your answer. Almost all of VA is still rural and full of small, historic villages…(and avid hunters—my bro-in-law and nephew have been turkey hunting all week on their OWN farm property) EXCEPT for Richmond and the government/military/industrial complex that hug the Eastern shore in one big megapolis from D. C. To Norfolk. It’s first example you gave.… Read more »

They may eventually come to realize, it is the true and patriotic U.S. Citizens, that have all the “common sense”, and all their anti-firearms nonsense will be ignored.

Folks, The situation in VA isn’t that simple. One, the GOPe (GOP establishment, or RINOs) is in charge of the VA GOP. They’ve nominated PISS POOR candidates in at least the last two gubernatorial campaigns (2013 & 2017). They totally undermined Ken Cuccinelli in ’13; they wouldn’t even give him any campaign money! In ’17, they ran quintessential RINO Ed Gillespie. Gillespie worked for GW Bush; he was RNC chair; and he was a senior official in the Mittens Romney campaign. They ran Gillespie rather than Cuccinelli. I reckon a lot of GOPers stayed home. Why vote when there’s no… Read more »

Are the voters that stupid? Or did he become governor through fraud?
