National Hockey League stand for National Anthem

How refreshing.

The National Hockey League  (NHL) is a professional ice hockey league in North America, currently comprising 31 teams: 24 in the United States and 7 in Canada. The NHL is considered to be the premier professional ice hockey league in the world.

Yesterday afternoon, July 30, 2020, before the NHL exhibition game in Edmonton, Alberta, unlike the disgusting NFL (National Football League) and the NBA, but like other NHL teams, the NHL Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators all stood, instead of kneel, for the U.S. national anthem as well as Canada’s.

The two teams linked arms during the anthems as a show of unity supporting equality, thereby signaling both their support for racial equality — the supposed cause of Black Lives Matter — without disrespecting the U.S. flag or national anthem.

The NHL allows individual players to choose a cause for the league’s #ISkateFor campaign.

As examples, Stars forward Tyler Seguin posting a statement on social media in June supporting BLM, and attended a protest in Dallas following the killing of George Floyd. Stars interim coach Rick Bowness, however, wore a plaid ribbon on his lapel — Nova Scotia’s Tartan — in remembrance of several tragedies in his home province, including a missing three-year-old, and mass shooting that resulted in 22 casualties.

Didn’t I hear that they have had a near-zero infection rate despite a substantially less than 100% “compliance” rate?

Correct: “The NHL announced Monday that 800 players were tested for the virus last week and that zero had positive results.”

This Wuhan virus shutdown isn’t about science, IMO. It’s about fear-mongoring and control. “Sweden update 31 July. Zero deaths in past 3 days; 5 in the past week. No lockdowns, no masks, no panic.”

I’m kinda waiting to see if the Chicago Blackhawks will change their name – I’m guessing NO at this point, like the Washington “Football Team” did. Indians were consulted for the Blackhawks logo, and it has always been “distinctive”, not a caricature of an Indian.
