  1. Joel Olsteen said in an interview with that British host on CNN (name?) that he would NOT perform a gay “wedding” ceremony because homosexuality is a sin, BUT he WOULD attend a gay “wedding” ceremony if he had gay friends getting “married” so as not to “disrespect” them!

  2. I checked, and must admit Joel made a very grand expansion on the meaning of verse 17. However, the theme of being made kings and priests to God is not at all foreign to the Christian view redemption,

  3. 2 Timothy 4:2-4
    King James Version (KJV)
    2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

  4. Today on Hannity a black pastor called in and said he was opposed to same sex marriage and abortions but he voted for Obama because of the fairness policies of his economic policies! I’m confused!?

    • Heard that too. I couldn’t understand his “logic” whatsoever. He supports the failed economic policies yet ignores the social issues (which are apparently more important to libs). Both are failures. Up is down, down is up these days.

    • No, Zan. It’s that black pastor and all Christians who voted for Obama because of “social justice”, in spite of him being pro-abortion and pro-infanticide (3 times voted against the Born Alive Infants Survival Act) who are confused.

  5. Having looked up more on the “prosperoty” churches, I must balance my defense of some of them with the disgusting examples of some who have gone very much too far. On that, I give this link to a very disturbing message by Creflo Dollar:
    One thing I can say about Dollar’s message is that it is NOT a Christian idea. Instead of defending the ‘prosperity’ churches, I will let them stand or fall by their own words.

    • Yes, traildust – the love of money is the root of ALL evil. 🙁
      1 Timothy 6:9-11
      King James Version (KJV)
      9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
      10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
      11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

  6. I must agree, Sage_Brush. I didn’t see it in Joel Osteen, but when I came across the link (above) to Creflo Dollar, I heard an evil that can come from only one source.
    Also, to compel the giving of tithes goes straight in the face of 2 Corinthians 9:7, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” God challenges us to give boldly, but not under compulsion.”
