My Candidate for Father of the Year

Nothing like a really good DRT* story to start the week off right.

Sheriff: Father kills man sexually abusing his daughter

(CNN) — A Texas father caught a man sexually assaulting his 4-year-old daughter and punched him in the head repeatedly, killing him, authorities said.
The father was casually acquainted with the alleged abuser, said Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon.
Neither has been publicly identified.
The girl was left inside the family’s house during the social gathering, while other members of her family were tending to horses, the sheriff said.
The alleged abuser was known for his horse-grooming abilities, Harmon said.
The father returned to the house, caught the man in the act, and stopped him by striking him in the head several times, Harmon said.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene, while the daughter was taken to a local hospital in Victoria, Texas, for examinations before being released.
The incident took place Saturday.
Harmon described the girl as “OK besides the obvious mental trauma.”
Asked whether they would press charges against the father, the sheriff responded, “You have a right to defend your daughter. He acted in defense of his third person. Once the investigation is completed we will submit it to the district attorney who then submits it to the grand jury, who will decide if they will indict him.”
Harmon described the dad as “very remorseful,” adding that he didn’t know the man was going to die.
Authorities were withholding the deceased man’s name while they notified next of kin. Officials did not know immediately if he has a prior criminal history.
Lavaca County Precinct Judge Alene Lyons, who is coordinating information in the case including autopsy results, said Monday
that a preliminary autopsy report indicated the victim “died from blunt-force head and neck injuries.”
“It will take six weeks to get the full report back because they also did a toxicology report,” Lyons said.

His only mistake was showing remorse, as that might very well be used against him by some lefty prosecuter.
Had it been my daughter, I would have done the exact same thing, but there is no way I would have been remorseful – not even a little bit.
This man permanently removed a low-life, POS monster from circulation.
God only knows how many future child victims his actions took out of harm’s way.

I’d be suspicious of any father who didn’t react the same way.

Unfortunately we have a guy in our prison here serving life for the same thing; only difference was, his daughter was 12 and he didn’t catch him in the act, but when she told her dad, he confronted the “friend”, who admitted it. Dad shot him to death and then turned himself in. In my mind that would qualify for temporary insanity. He still says he would do it again if he had to do it all over.

Yeah, either a crappy lawyer, a liberal jury, or both. I feel bad for both him and his daughter; she probably feels guilty for telling him (though she shouldn’t). Amazing how much damage one jackass can do.

This man has just saved other girls from future torment, And there are more than likely other girls who are now sighing in relief that a rapist is dead.

Back in the 1950s, a series of pedophile incidents took place in a very wooded park several miles from where I lived. Legend has it, an anonymous group of fathers “took care” of the problem. I have no idea who they were or what they did.

All fathers should be this protective of their daughters & sons.

Life sentence??? That figures in a world where the big “O” gets a Nobel Peace Prize. That case should be appealed, and I would be happy to contribute to the legal defense fund….if he gets a better lawyer!!

This father reacted in the only appropriate way I think a father would react when finding a pervert attacking his child. He should not so much as look back with one ounce of regret that he killed a monster, that would have gone on to attack more victims. It is a proven fact that child molesters are never cured-those that have gone to prison and released, go on to attack & even murder. God bless this father & dear little girl.
Thank God at least one monster won’t be hurting another child! Ever!
