Remember how the western media hailed the wave of popular uprisings across the Muslim world as “Arab Spring”? Remember how the POS in the White House lauded Arab Spring as a welcome sign of democracy in the Middle East?
Some Arab Spring!
First, news came that the newly elected president of Egypt, Mohammad Morsi, is a member of the extremist pan-Islamic Muslim Brotherhood. Now, a mob of some 2,000 extremist Muslims have stormed the U.S. embassy in Cairo.
Reuters reports that some 2,000 Egyptian Muslims stormed the American embassy in Cairo today, to protest a film they say is insulting to Mohammad. About 20 scaled the walls.
The mob raised a black flag carrying the slogan: “There is no god but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger.”
The AP says the protesters are largely “ultra-conservative Islamists,” which is a misnomer because there is nothing “conservative” or “ultra-conservative” about violent extremists.
CNN reports that U.S. security guards fired a volley of warning shots as the crowd gathered outside the embassy walls. The embassy had been expecting a demonstration and cleared all diplomatic personnel earlier from the facility.
Iran’s FARS news agency says the film is the work of a group of “extremist” members of the Egyptian Coptic Church in the United States. Al Ahram online says the film is reportedly being produced by U.S.-based Coptic-Christian Egyptians, including Esmat Zaklama and Morees Sadek, with the support of the Terry Jones Church in the United States. Jones is the evangelical pastor who stirred controversy last year by threatening to burn a Quran in public.
However, CNN says the film in question is a Dutch production.
The Grand Mufti of Egypt Sheikh Ali Gomaa strongly condemned the movie, AllAfrica.com reports. “Freedom of speech does not warrant desecrating sanctities,” Gomaa said in a statement Sunday.
The AP says clips of the film available on YouTube show the prophet having sex and questioning his role as the messenger of God’s words.

Frankly, I don’t understand how this film “desecrates” Muslim “sanctities.”
Islam’s founder, the alleged prophet Muhammad (if he actually existed) had 13 wives or concubines. Not only did he have sex, he did it with an underage girl, Aisha, with whom Muhammad consummated the marriage when the girl was only 9 years old.
And anyone who’s knowledgeable about Muhammad also knows that when the angel Jibreel (Gabriel) allegedly first appeared in a cave to reveal God’s words to Muhammad, Muhammad did question whether the apparition was real or of the devil. Upon receiving his first revelations, he was deeply distressed and resolved to commit suicide. He also feared that others would dismiss his claims as being possessed.
