Giant Food is supermarket chain based in Maryland that has 169 stores and 159 full service pharmacies located in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Their woke leaders have decided to add labels to products so you know if they are made by a minority-owned business.
From the WDVM story:
“The labels represent businesses that are Women, Black, Asian-Indian, Hispanic, LGBT, Asian-Pacific, or Veteran owned. The program is part of the store’s efforts to promote diversity.
“We have identified any U.S.- based vendor that is 51% or more owned by one of our minority suppliers,” said Kate Kowalzik, Director of Brand Strategy and Media at Giant Food. “Businesses with certifications have also been included and the list continues to grow.”

Considering that #notmypresident Biden plans to prioritize small, minority-owned business (whites excluded), is this really such a good idea?
Then again, it might be. Because of a label such as this one could look up to see if the company supports the Marxist BLM group.
You know what label I’d rather see?

Better than Drudge Report. Check out Whatfinger News, the Internet’s conservative frontpage founded by ex-military!
This concept might work both ways, though (depending on the clientele) by highlighting which products not to buy…
Guess who is paying for those labels and them being added??
YOU–enjoy your manipulation.
Sounds like a good way easily to identify products to never purchase for people who think wokeness is evil.
I guess they think they’re helping Minorities by doing this, but in reality, aren’t THEY being RAAAAAAAACIST?
I think this could backfire… like a “Hecho en China” label.
Time for some Shenanigans I guess. I wonder if we Put White owned what would be the outcome.
The store would be burnt down, but we know that all ready.
These labels mean squat if the products are poor or overpriced.
The Giant Food Chain is owned, I believe, by a Dutch Company. They also own the Martin’s Food Store chain in Virginia.
Not sure there are still Martains around. All Central VA M.’s run off by Publix. Pryor to M.’s they were Ukrop’s, a Christian, family owned business. Closed on Sunday and sold no alcohol. Successful biz for 3 generations. U.’s still doing g biz and charity here.
What if I want to shop in the Western European Caucasian section?
BTW Why not put a little USA flag on U.S. made stuff.
