Monday Funnies: People who wanted nothing to do with cats

Ailurophobia is the persistent, irrational fear of cats.

For most people it is less about fear than about loathing. Some possible situations that can trigger the loathing of cats are hearing purring, seeing a cat in real life, imagining the possibility of a cat touching or rubbing against one, the thought of meeting a cat in the dark, seeing the staring eyes of a cat, cats in pictures and on television, and cat-like toys and cat-like fur.

Below are 19 ailurophobes:

These are great! But, what is it about some men who don’t like or pretend to not like cats?

I laugh at this story because I have experience with it myself. I never hated cats, but I was allergic to them when I was little and I also happened to love birds. So to me cats ate my favorite creatures and I wanted nothing to do with that. At 21 and newly married a stray orange tomcat come to the back door of our apartment asking for help and food. He’d been badly beaten in a cat fight, with puncture wounds and abseces everywhere. I nursed him back to health and he was mine. Five cats later, all of… Read more »

My day has been made. Julian and Walter are our 2 cats. They run the house and we are just the faithful servants. Cats have a unique ability to take charge and show you your place in their realm. I accept my position and would not have it any other way

What can be added to this? The case for the love of cats has been well-stated by this Dr. E. post. Thank You! My dear departed dad used to act indifferent—even bare tolerence — towards my pet cats (I was the only family member who wanted or had cats, & at that, I begged until I was a mid-teen before parents relented & allowed me to have a housecat—-taken from the goodly supply of yearly kittens from my grandparents’ farm. Both my parents grew up farm kids and cats, to them, belonged in the barn, not in the house). Of… Read more »

I am one of those who used to claim… ‘I am a dog person”
It would never work today coming from the guy with cat hair on his shirt… Cats won me over!

I’m a dog person, but there have been some cats I have known and loved. Supposedly there is a parasite that cats carry that gets into your brain and starts to “control” you, it makes you start to pre-furr cats and makes you want to get more of them! LOL!

Dr. E,

All those pics were good, but my favorite was the one where the GF said she was ‘demoted to Princess #2’-good one!

That was wonderful. Nice to see there are so many non-cat lovers out there.
