Mick Jagger blasts President Trump and attacks the US for “tearing apart” environmental standards

From Daily Mail: Rock and Roll icon Mick Jagger has lamented Donald Trump as a polarizing and rude figure who is ‘tearing apart’ America’s environmental safeguards – but the US president wasn’t the only world leader to be admonished in the singer’s extraordinary diatribe Saturday.

The Rolling Stones frontman said America should be setting the environmental standard for the world to follow, but, under the leadership of Trump, Jagger believes environment controls are being decimated.

Jagger, 76, says he is ‘absolutely behind’ young climate change activists who had earlier occupied the red carpet at the Venice film festival, where the new psychological thriller he’s starring in, ‘The Burnt Orange Heresy’, was debuting.

He then deplored how politics has descended into a circus of name-calling, ‘including in my own country this week’ – a reference to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson comparing opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn to a ‘big girl’s blouse’ and a ‘chlorinated chicken’.

Jagger also bewailed ‘the polarization and incivility in public life’, although the one-time bad boy of 1960s rock admitted he was ‘not always for civility’ himself.

‘But when you see it now… in so many countries, including my own this last week, but particularly the US, it’s a sea change.

‘It is not about manners,’ Jagger insisted, saying he was fearful about ‘where all this polarization and rudeness and lying is going to lead us.’

More worrying still, said the singer, was that what little environmental safeguards there were were being swept away across the globe.

Jagger blasted Trump’s decision to withdraw the US from the Paris Agreement. ‘We are in a very difficult situation at the moment, especially in the US, where all the environmental controls that were put in place – that were just about adequate – have been rolled back by the current administration so much that they are being wiped out,’ he added.

As you can see, Jagger is extremely concerned about the environment…

Oh well, he must have been drunk. Jagger is like Bob Hope. You see him and you say, Oh, I guess he’s not dead yet. Is he EVER going to hang it up? Please?

All of the world has engaged in sucking the United States dry . . . . yet they still hate us. Let the European countries suck it up a bit and do their part–quit always looking to the West to bail them out.

Sorry, Mick. But I remember when Christ was the only One taught about. This was at a time just before your band pumped seeds of fornication into the minds of our young people.
Smoking pot.
Rebellion.
Free sex.

Yep. Trump sure is trashing the world.

They certainly did, I remember it well. They were “antiheroes”, considered cool back then. Re: my first comment – Jagger can’t retire, he has a dark Master to serve. And a new generation to corrupt

Well I tell Mik “you can’t always get what you want”, stick to your hoping on the stage, be drunk, GET OFF THE PLANE, and worry about your next tour. Leave the other matters to those that know about it cause when it comes to music that’s all you know.

The arrogance of Jagger bemoaning the loss of the civility his band did more than most to destroy is breathtaking. At least he’s suffering remorse at the end of his life, and like a good leftie to the end, he’s blaming it on someone else like a spoiled child.

I think it is pretty darn funny that that old fart is bewailing the fact that the USA is not leading the anti-climate change crusade . . . you can interpret that as “the USA is not handing over Billions upon Billions of their citizen’s monies to other nations in order to a achieve ‘social’ justice.” Shut up, and just go away Jagger.

I suppose it’s not surprising that he doesn’t criticize China, the world’s number one emitter of “greenhouse gases”; the MSM says China is ‘leading the way” on renewable energy. Since when? They are building thousands of new coal-fired power plants. They’re not so stupid as to think they can run their economy on “renewables”. And the Paris Accord allows them to continue increasing CO2 emission for thirty more years, then they will think about reducing emissions. Maybe. So Trump pulled us out of this stupid agreement that would have decimated what’s left of our economy. Jagger is an over-the-hill old… Read more »

The english didn’t like our first President,…..either. But if any one has reason to complain, it should’a been during the obama fraud travesty.
