#MeToo activist Rose McGowan on her abortion: “I could not bring a child into my world and simultaneously change the world”

It’s amazing that women who had babies actually had the capacity to make a positive change in the world. For example: Margaret Thatcher, Marie Curie, Christa McAuliffe, Wilma Rudolph, etc.

Who knew women could fantastically succeed without the burden of a baby…

From Yahoo: Rose McGowan opened up about her choice to have an abortion in an effort to get an “honest” conversation going around the topic.

The 45-year-old actress and activist made the revelation Friday when responding to a tweet from the women’s advocacy group UltraViolet that said, “1 in 4 women has an abortion by age 45. 60% are already mothers.”

From their tweet: “1 in 4 women has an abortion by age 45. 60% are already mothers. Abortion is common, normal, and safe, but anti-choice politicians want you to believe otherwise in hopes of ending safe, legal abortion access. #HowDareYou — UltraViolet (@UltraViolet) March 1, 2019”

“I have had an abortion and I support this message,” McGowan replied, adding, “I was on birth control and it failed. I realized I could not bring a child into my world and simultaneously change the world. I do not regret my decision and it was not made lightly.”

“If you do not want an abortion, don’t get one. My body, my choice, my life. Have you had to make a choice? Let’s talk and use hashtag #HonestAbortion” — rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) March 1, 2019

The Charmed actress encouraged women who have made the same decision to chime in using the hashtag #HonestAbortion. Many took the opportunity to share their story.

McGowan was one of the first women to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault. She has become one of the most outspoken voices of the #MeToo movement, advocating for victims of sexual violence. (The disgraced producer has denied all claims of nonconsensual sex.)

I realized I could not bring a child into my world and simultaneously change the world.

Really?? Well, I have never heard of Rose McGowan so there must not be much changing on her part!!
Oh, wait—operative word–MY world. Not, ‘our’ or ‘the’.

I kinda wonder how long ago she had the abortion. The #MeToo movement is only the age of a toddler. Was she trying to change the world before then? I highly doubt it. I’m guessing she had the abortion because she ultimately did not want to see the father over the next couple of decades in raising a child and being part of its life – she was probably ashamed at who the father would be.

50M+ Dead babies. As long as she’s not affected that’s o.k. with her. Too bad. Many of those babies could grow up to be liberal.

She advocates abortion because she didn’t have the courage to face a mistake she made and bring a fatherless child into this world.

Seems like she is looking for an excuse to justify the reason for having an abortion. These so called women are self serving and selfish. They do not want the responsibility nor take the time to help a harmless little baby. They are not up to the great challenge it takes to produce a wonderful little being. It is all about them. These women should just shut up and take the pill and keep their twisted thoughts and excuses to themselves. I, for one, am tired of listening to their tripe. Every person out there that has been a wonderful… Read more »

Honestly, my greatest achievement has been the successful raising of my 5 children. I pity Rose McGowan and others like her.

Her reasoning is incredibly sad, and I see that reasoning from may women. “I don’t want to bring a child into this fucked up world.” The world is fucked up because the souls who want to come here to change it keep getting killed.

“All through the day, I me mine, I me mine, I me mine; All through the night, I me mine, I me mine, I me mine…”. Well, she wouldn’t be the first person (or woman) to have murdered someone to further her goals. Usually they put them in prison (hopefully) lest they do even more harm to the societies in which they live. You see, babies are only babies when you say they are. They have no rights unless the mother gives them. The one saving grace in this is that I am certain these creatures will get their just… Read more »

Liberals are ok with murdering innocent babies, but against the death penalty for serial murderers. Liberalism IS a mental disorder!!!

What a repulsive human being. Harvey Weinstein is probably the victim. I don’t know anything about her, but I see she used Marilyn Manson’s as a sort of billboard announcing who she is on the inside. Even so, her emotionally fractured parallelism about being unable to both have her baby and participate in some vague generality about the world at large says Rose isn’t handling the decision to kill her baby very well. What a loser in all that matters and winner in all that doesn’t. Maybe some day she’ll see the light.

Dear Rose McGowan: I’m glad you chose to NOT be a mother. Your choice was of someone unfit to become a mother of an infant, who is dependent upon your care and choices in life for some years, anyway. So, maybe without abortion, you would have dumped your newborn child in a dumpster? Maybe let it out in the open to die of exposure? Neither of these, nor more awful scenarios that I can gin up, are more awful than abortion. They are all equal in violence, rejection of the life you were embued with, the snuffing out of the… Read more »

From S.M.A.R.T Women’s Healthcare (Science Matters in Abortion Related Trauma): 1. The ultimate cost of subsequent children (after an earlier abortion) born early/preterm births was at least $26.2 billion in medical care 2005 or $51,600 per infant born preterm. Plus $5.7 billion for lost household labor market productivity associated with those disabilities & $1.9 Maternal delivery costs. 2. Funding mental health treatment centers for eating disorders, alcohol & drug abuse $30 billion: overall NIH funding for yr 2005. Evidence demands we look at: the adjusted risk of preterm birth – under 37 weeks increased by 27% after 1 abortion and… Read more »
