Meanwhile Down On The Farm.

Howard I guess. LOL

Howard I guess. LOL

When you’re from the farm, your perception is a little bit different.
A farmer drove to a neighbor’s farmhouse and knocked at the door. A boy, about 9, opened the door. “Is your dad or mom home?” said the farmer.
“No, they went to town.”
“How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?”
“No, he went with Mom and Dad.”
The farmer stood there for a few minutes, shifting from one foot to the other, mumbling to himself, when the young boy says, “I know where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one, or I can give Dad a message.”
“Well,” said the farmer uncomfortably. “No, I really want to talk to your Dad, about your brother Howard getting my daughter Suzy pregnant”.
The boy thought for a moment…then says, “You’ll have to talk to my Dad about that. I know he charges $500 for the bulls and $150 for the pigs,

but I have no idea how much he charges for Howard.”

“Boo” to you. The other day, you objected to a photoshopped pic.

There’s no pleasing you, which leads me to wonder why you come onto FOTM.

Actually, I have a sense of decency. The photo was a real connect for me and it’s like taking the flag and wrapping it up into a wad and setting it on fire. If we don’t say what is offensive, who will? And, I do farm and we do have animals which sire. People are not supposed to sire and leave, I don’t want them in the same class as animals. Enjoy the humor if you want. Whatever floats your boat.

“Actually, I have a sense of decency.”

Which is your way of saying we don’t have a sense of decency. How precious.

OK, I laughed! But after seeing ncmissouri’s comments, I had to stop & analyze WHY I laughed, which was quick & easy to do: What makes that joke funny is the INNOCENCE of the FICTIONAL little brother since it is clear that he had no idea what he was saying but was merely repeating “farm facts” as he’d heard them probably many times (ie, he has no idea of the implications of the Howard/Suzy pregnancy). Besides that, who says Howard WILL “leave” Suzy? (which was ncmissouri’s complaint re the joke). Even so, I respect ncm’s option to be offended. If… Read more »

I am a farmer and I thought this was hilarious. The innocence of the child makes it funny. A little farm humor, that’s all. The cows may come and the cows may go, but the bull just goes on forever. Thanks for the humor Dr. E. Leeann

Dear TPR and nc-missou…..thank you for your contributions & perspectives. I’m hoping everyone re-reads the first line of this “joke,” which says….”When you’re from a farm, your perception is a little bit DIFFERENT …” I agree—& it’s “OK” that your perception is different! . I’m from a farm & I was able to laugh b/c I understood the innocence of the 9-yr-old brother…& his understanding of nature that was so pure. Once, when I was about 8, I had to stay home with the flu from school & my mother hired a neighbor high school girl. She was a school… Read more »
