Liberal Narrative: You don’t care about gun control until someone you know dies from gun violence

Oh you silly libs, you’d be very wrong and uninformed about my opinion of gun violence and gun control.

I care about gun control and write about it a lot on this blog. And I write about the victims who die from gun violence despite the strict gun control laws already in place. See the following examples:

This is Chiraq: 8 killed, 40 wounded during another weekend of violence
This is Chiraq: 43 shot (2 killed) during weekend violence
This is Chiraq: 45 shot – 4 fatally – during weekend violence
Gun control, Chiraq style: 44 shot – 8 fatally – since Friday night
The left’s narrative vs. facts about gun control laws and mass shootings
Gun control, Chiraq style: 6 shot at baby shower (including 2 kids); witnesses not cooperating with investigators
After Philadelphia Police shootout, demorats call for more gun control. How about stricter penalties for prohibited possessors and better enforcement?
Liberal utopia of California: Prohibited possessor & career criminal who killed Sacramento County deputy flaunted his guns on social media
Shocker, not: Washington state gun laws didn’t prevent ICE detention center Antifa goon from illegally obtaining firearm
#MarchForOurLives: Remember Kate Steinle and those responsible for her death

There is one simple fact that liberals will never comprehend: criminals do not obey gun control laws.

You can never make enough laws to guarantee good behavior from people who are willing to break the law.

But let’s face it, progressives only want one thing anyway: To take away your guns.

Until you can guarantee me that more gun control laws will prevent a perp from entering my home and trying to harm me, I’ll keep my firearms for my protection, TYVM.

I care about gun control, that is I control my gun -keep it clean, in a safe place, under lock and key when necessary, and I am sure I can control how I use it in case I am threatened with bodily harm, and You can be sure it is guaranteed.

Couldn’t make it more clear what their real goal is.

Kevin – in spite of how long they have been telling us that is their goal, far too many sheeple still believe in the “common sense/reasonable” mantra.
OTOH – to the folks that think think we should go to the dark side with their personal violence meme – 2 questions: 1) how many of your friends have to die in car crashes before you give up your cars; 2) how may of your friends have to be sexually assaulted before you cut off your private parts?

The analogy with automobiles is a good way to frame the discussion with gun-grabbers and point out the absurdity of “stricter gun control”. It’s like saying because a certain percentage of drivers drive recklessly or while intoxicated, resulting in injury and death to thousands of innocent people, we need to outlaw and confiscate cars. Cars are the problem. That wouldn’t go over well. Then again arguing rationally with snowflakes is a waste of time because they are not rational people, just useful idiots for TPTB who want to take away our right to defend ourselves against them

The idiots making it tough on legal gun owners come in a few different flavors… The punk ass kid with a .380 and half a box of shells who thinks he is a man by shooting some other stupid asshole “dissing” him….. The gangbanger out to avenge the 1st dickhead shot by dissed jerk…. The 3rd moron that has to get involved because his homeboy done got kilt…. The common thread with ALL of them is that they can not legally buy a gun and when the first shooting happens they NEVER SEE NUFFIN!! The police always run up against… Read more »

Shouldn’t it read, “Who in your life would have to die from gun violence for you to give up the virtue signaling and arm yourself?”

Who in your life would have to be subject to the whims of thugs, or at the mercy of law enforcement or government control, leading to death, incarceration, starvation, mass murder, loss of rights, property, children, future, freedom, before you believe that we have a great gift in the right to bear arms?

On October 5, 1978, I was a bank teller at work when two armed men entered the premises and announced a robbery. The one with a pistol threatened me and another teller. Fortunately, no one was hurt and no shots were fired. So let’s look at this. Neither man obeyed the law, but they did practice a form of gun control—they produced a pistol (and the lookout brandished a sawed-off shotgun). But neither man fired his weapon. So let’s get one thing clear: If I had a gun at that moment, I would have shot both of them. But I… Read more »

My cold dead hands.
Gun control laws causes crime.

In my nearly 35 years in the land surveying profession, I was shot at twice.

But I will never give in to the commie-lib gun grabbers, as I am well aware the armed criminals are not the people they are really after.

Commies are scared shitless of an armed opposition to their totalitarian tendencies.

That’s a good thing. 🙂

DCG . . . . Bravo! Excellent article. This is what I think about “gun control” and the possibility of a loved one losing their life to a killer . . . . 1) we all leave this life at some point in time 2) I would prefer that there be more and more people with permits to carry–so that hopefully they can take out any crazed killer with ease!
