I’m leaving liberal lalaland…Oklahoma here I come!

Rate this post

This weekend I’m leaving the liberal State of Washington and moving to Oklahoma to be with my military guy! He’s been re-located there for the next three years and purchased a home so that’s our new base. I’m excited to move to a red state that is pro-Second Amendment!

I’m driving down there with my two cats in the car, that should be fun! I estimate it will be about a four-day drive.

Here’s a few pics of what’s in store for us:

Global Warming arrived in Oklahoma last week. Hopefully it will be gone by the time I get there!

Our big back yard!

Look at what you can buy at the local Wal-Mart!

I’ll be posting sporadically, if at all, during my drive. Will report as soon as I can when I arrive at my final destination!

  1. Congrats!!!  I wish you the best.

    Sent from Molto for iPad

  2. Wow. Guns at Walmart. They stopped doing that here almost twenty years ago.

  3. I’m so happy for you and the lieutenant colonel, DCG! 😀

    Godspeed! ♥

  4. Welcome to Oklahoma DCG! Glad to have you and hubby here!

  5. Oklahoma, the only state where not a single county’s vote went to BO.

  6. Safe travels and a wonderful future for you and your much admired soldier! It’s not quite the South, but close enough to share our values.

  7. I can hear the joy in your post. The Lord is sending you on a new adventure. So wonderful!

  8. Sounds great, DCG! Just keep an eye to the sky in springtime. They don’t call it tornado ally for nothing.

  9. So happy for you DCG!!! you will fit right in with the very fine citizens of Oklahoma. Be safe, can’t wait to hear from you.

  10. Happy Trails! We moved to North Carolina from Fort Worth, TX several years ago. We miss Texans and Oklahomans! But, love N. Carolinians too…(the one’s who are decidedly NOT LIBERAL. Good Luck, and be safe!

  11. I am so happy for you and your wonderful military colonel! I will pray for you today that you have a safe journey; I will do so before the Blessed Sacrament before we sing the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

  12. I’m JEALOUS! ‘Been stuck here in the “Hotel California” for 27 years (you know…..you can “check out, but you can never leave, ” according to the song. Sigh……). So happy for you and your guy!

  13. Welcome to OK DCG. Lot’s of great people here. In OK, always be aware of the weather. If the local stations seem to be freaking out talking about an upcoming sever weather outbreak, take cover! It’s most likely our wonderful government spraying chemtrails all over the place to enhance the storms. You’ll see when you get here. I personally saw the trails in western OK that became the horrific Moore tornado. Be safe and have a safe trip.

  14. Thanks all! I’m finishing up last minute packing stuff today, then heading out!

  15. 🙂

  16. Congratulations!

  17. DCG, well wishes for your move, and hope things turn out well, but as a fellow Christian I feel I should mention something of note: oklahoma is a place with a *lot* of satanists tucked out in the pockets out there, or so I have read, so be wary of that, and be sure to keep your pets indoors at night, or when you’re not at home. (you may want to study up on this subject, better to be appraised of the adversaries camps and all, check local crime reports for the bizarre stuff, satanist wannabes etc.)

Secondly, if your new house does not have a sizable, and tornado-hardened, basement… I would really recommend building one, I’m sure you already know about having CBs, power generators, and water purification etc. so I won’t bother with that. May Yeshua Christ protect and guide you as you make a home in a different (and considerably mountain-scarce) land.
    Best regards.

    • Seumas, my pets are always inside when it’s dark or when I’m not home, too many critters outside and I like to know where they are. Haven’t heard of the satanist stuff there, will check it out.

And yes, we’ll be prepared for bad weather (my military guy is always thinking ahead).

Thanks for your blessings and thanks everyone!

      • Are you going to be in the Northeastern corner or more in the flat area of the state? My family is from the Northeastern part of the state. It’s a bit hilly and known as “Green Country.” Tulsa and Muskogee are in that area. You should definitely check out Tulsa. It has lots of neat Mid-Century ranch houses and some interesting architecture in the downtown area.

Regarding what DCG stated, it wouldn’t surprise me about that. Fort Worth, TX had/has a problem with those kinds of nut balls.

      • I hope your house has a tornado basement as well as that big back yard!

        • Basements are rare in OK, to high of a water table although there are numerous tornado shelters available and safe room can be added indoors.

  18. Congrats to you both, DCG! I’ve often thought Oklahoma would be a great place to live, for a number of reasons.

  19. HI DCG. I’ve lived here all of my life. Most of it in the NW central part of the state. I have never heard of the Satanist stuff. Recently, there has been the controversy about a proposed Satanic statue from a group out of NY. There was some sort of Satanist gathering at the Civic center in downtown OKC a few years back that drew much protest. We are definitely a CHRISTIAN state. I’ve heard that there is a couple of large KKK groups near the Hinton and Shawnee areas, so be careful and stay away from those types. The SW part of the state where you are moving is going to be very HOT and DRY. Major drought going on there now. Never heard of people being afraid to leave their dogs out at night either. Most of OK is rural and yes, people do have big dogs that stay outside. Most of OK is a great place to raise a family. We have our problems just like everyone else, but it’s a great state. Right now in central OK we are being hammered with earthquakes. 28 quakes near OKC today. It’s one thing to worry about tornadoes, but earthquakes too. Some think that it’s the fracking disposals, and I’m sure that’s part of it, but I think there is something else going on. We hear loud booms and you can feel a concussion when it hits your house. There have been strange engine sounds in SW OKC, that was dismissed as some kind of engine test on a new plane near Will Rogers Airport. It was between Tinker and Will Rogers. Major chem trails in OK and now were going to be one of Obummers climate change sites. There is a whistle blower out of Tinker that said they were running the Chem Trails out of there. Lots of strange stuff. I think we are being hit with HAARP or something. The other day during a snow storm, the development stopped flat right in the middle of south OKC. The weather men said that it had developed a heated area in the upper levels of the atmosphere. They said it happens. I’ve never seen it before. I think it was HAARP. OSU is big into the drones. You may see some freaky looking stuff going down the highways. There is a drone test site near Lawton where you are going. It’s disguised as just a small ranch house out in the middle of nowhere.

Again, DCG, welcome to OK. I think you will really like it here. Maybe you can help us figure out some of this weird stuff that is going on.

  20. Welcome to God’s Country!!

  21. DCG, Good Luck. Oh yea I love my Walmart. Just like yours. hehehehe
    Ammo is always out though.

  22. Well, my trip was delayed a day. 12″ of snow in the pass overnight and one of my cats didn’t respond well to Xanax – kept me up all night. Found another product I’m hoping works on him, we’ll see. Heading out tomorrow, hopefully!

    • I’m glad you didn’t leave today. Please be very very careful driving that long distance to Oklahoma. Make sure you stop & rest when you’re tired or sleepy. How I wish you had family or a friend to accompany you.

      You’re in my prayers….

  23. I left both NYC and Cali the illegal friendly dumps.
True, the restaurants are not here in N. Ariz and it is the high deset with no green and no ocean, but, halleluyah, hardly ANY LIBERALS!!

  24. California is Satan’s Playground!

  25. Welcome to Oklahoma!!! Looks like there are several Okies here so if ya have any questions just ask. Okies are friendly folk. I’m in the central part of the state, just South of OKC, that stands for Oklahoma City. We have our issues but still a great place to live.
