Chaz Bono back on the market...

Chaz Bono and Jennifer Elia End Engagement

People Magazine reports that Chaz Bono and “his” fiancée, Jennifer Elia, have called off their engagement and ended their relationship. “They leave this relationship with great love, respect and affection towards one another,” the couple’s publicist, Howard Bragman, tells PEOPLE. “No further amplification will be forthcoming and they ask that you respect their privacy at this time.”
“Thanks for your concern about our separation,” Bono, 42, Tweeted. “I’m doing fine, and we remain on good terms with nothing but respect and affection 4 each other.” They got engaged earlier this year when Bono proposed to Elia in Seattle.  Though the couple started dating before Bono transitioned from female to male, Elia said in 2009 that she fully supported “his” decision.
I use the term “his” in quotes because Chaz Bono is not physically a man.  The DNA is that of a woman, one with amputated breasts, and all the relevant female body parts below the waist.
In a New York Times interview back in May of this year, Chaz stated, ” I’ve learned that the differences between men and women are so biological. I think if people realized that, it would be easier. I would be a great relationship counselor. I know the difference that hormones really make.
Also in May, “his” then girlfriend said Chaz was better in bed as “man”.
Speaking out about their romance on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the two admitted there were post sex-change challenges, but neither considered leaving the other – and Elia revealed the sex is better. Asked if sex is different with Chaz the man, Elia said, “Yes, absolutely. It’s better, I have to say… Mentally and emotionally, he is more alive.”
So much for never leaving each other.  I guess I can’t blame Elia.  She is a lesbian that hooked up with a woman who wanted to become a man.  Apparently not everyone was ready to accept Chaz’s decision to transgender.  And Chaz isn’t ready to be a great relationship counselor either.

    • Brilliant choice of video, Dan. I’ve got the VHS of Man of LaMancha. Your clip makes me want to watch it again.
