The shocking news came this morning that Steve Bannon, President Trump’s White House Chief Strategist and former CEO of Breitbart credited with helping Trump win the 2016 election, had resigned two weeks ago, on August 7.

But the news is awash in ambiguity.

The New York Times reports:

President Trump has told senior aides that he has decided to remove Stephen K. Bannon, the embattled White House chief strategist who helped Mr. Trump win the 2016 election, according to two administration officials briefed on the discussion.

The president and senior White House officials were debating when and how to dismiss Mr. Bannon. The two administration officials cautioned that Mr. Trump is known to be averse to confrontation within his inner circle, and could decide to keep on Mr. Bannon for some time.

Meanwhile, this is how Huffington Post reacts to Bannon’s resignation:

Goy (plural “goyim”) is the Hebrew pejorative word for a non-Jew.

Why HuffPost would make an issue about Bannon’s ethnicity is baffling because under CEO Bannon, Breitbart News has always been pro Israel.

HuffPost‘s racist “Goy, Bye!” headline was met with outrage from even anti-Trumpers:

  • Keith Olbermann tweeted, “WTF?”
  • New York Post‘s Jewish contributor Seth Mandel tweeted: “Someone at HuffPo thought this headline was a good idea.”

So HuffPost quickly changed the headline. Alas, the Left being what they are, the new headline “White Flight” is no less racist and race-baiting as the previous “Goy, Bye!”. (Breitbart)

UPDATE:

As of this afternoon (Friday, Aug. 18), Bannon has returned to Breitbart News as its Executive Chairman.

Bannon told author Joshua Green:

“If there’s any confusion out there, let me clear it up: I’m leaving the White House and going to war for Trump against his opponents — on Capitol Hill, in the media, and in corporate America.”

According to the Gateway Pundit:

Breitbart News is plotting to go ‘thermonuclear’ against ‘globalists’ inside the Trump administration. Bannon may also be personally gearing up to take on the Drudge Report’s Matt Drudge.

According to former Trump aide Sam Nunberg, Bannon believes Drudge ‘accelerated’ his White House exit driven by continuous negative coverage.

Speaking of Drudge Report, I’ve been perturbed by Matt Drudge’s negative links on Trump and, frankly, no longer read Drudge Report or use it as a news source. I suggest that conservatives do the same.

H/t FOTM‘s DCG.
