Senator Says Legislative Process Is "All Rigged"

The word “rigged” means “pre-arranged and fixed so that the winner is decided before the competition.” [source]

This startling admission by a senator that the entire lawmaking process is “rigged, it’s all rigged,” was captured on the floor of the Senate by an open mic yesterday at 10:05 am, EST, during the vote on S. 510, the Food Safety Nazi bill (which was passed by the corrupt Senate).

The admission originally was misattributed to Sen. Joe Lieberman, but it was made by Sen. Michael Bennett (D-Colo). Here’s what the senator said:

“Because — because, it’s all rigged. I mean, the whole conversation is rigged. The fact that we don’t get to discussion before the break about what we’re going to do in the lame duck is just rigged. This stuff’s rigged….”
