Hillary Clinton used the same legal method as Trump to avoid paying income taxes

hillarys-media-bitches

On October 1, 2016, the New York Times (NYT) triumphantly declared that it had “obtained records from 1995 showing that Donald J. Trump declared a $916 million loss. The figure is “so substantial that it could have allowed him to legally avoid paying federal income tax for 18 years.”

This is the same New York Times whose “mediator,” Jim Rutenberg, urged that journalists abandon any pretenses at objectivity in their reporting on Trump, and whose tech columnist, Farhad Manjoo, urged Google to “fix” its search engine results to hide evidence of Hillary Clinton’s failing health, which Google then obligingly proceeded to do.

The discovery that Trump probably paid no federal income tax for the past 18 years was the leading news on TV all weekend.
The Clinton campaign pounced on the Times report. Campaign spokesman Brian Fallon tweeted: “Trump’s returns show just how lousy a businessman he is AND how long he may have avoided paying any taxes.” Hillary Clinton crowed about it in several tweets:

But there’s just one thing wrong with Hillary’s and the MSM’s crowing: Trump did nothing unlawful in paying no federal income tax. He did it “by the book” — by using a perfectly legal method provided by the IRS, called “carryover” or “long-term capital loss”.
The NYT admitted as much:

“The tax experts consulted by The Times said nothing in the 1995 documents suggested any wrongdoing by Mr. Trump, even if the extraordinary size of the loss he declared would have probably attracted extra scrutiny from I.R.S. examiners.”

There’s another thing wrong with Hillary’s and the MSM’s crowing: Hillary Clinton used the same “capital loss” method that Trump had used to reduce the amount the Clintons paid in income tax last year.
Line 18, page 17 of Hillary Clinton’s 2015 tax returns shows that the Clintons claimed $699,540 in capital loss (h/t Gateway Pundit):

The NYT said three pages of Trump’s 2015 tax returns were mailed to reporter Susanne Craig last month. The Trump campaign said in a statement the tax document had been “illegally obtained, a further demonstration that the New York Times, like establishment media in general, is an extension of the Clinton Campaign, the Democratic Party and their global special interests.” (NBC News)
Meanwhile, in 2014, the New York Times not only paid $0 in income tax, although it made $30 million, the newspaper managed the even more remarkable feat of obtaining from the IRS a $3.5 million refund. (Forbes)
New York Times and Hillary Clinton really should look up the meaning of “hypocrisy” in the dictionary.

Once again the MSM is willing to go to any depth, including breaking the law, in order to push their agenda, what ever that is. I’m thinking that the only reason people are mad at Trump is because they didn’t get “Their Fair Share” Most I know are looking to see if they can use the same rule. They who write the laws attempt to word them so that they and they only can understand them. But along comes Trump and he breaks the code. He does what was meant for only the political elite to do. Like Mr. Hartoonion… Read more »

Isn’t that Times reporter Susanne Craig as guilty of a felony for wilfull unauthorized release of private tax information as the sender? It’s not just a hard left IRS going after Trump and conservative groups. A book I read years ago by a retired IRS attorney exposed its auditors gloating over and getting paid bonuses for ruining the lives of even the most low-income Americans who’d committed no crime and simply messed up their returns, as if those everyday Americans were no more than ducks in a shooting gallery to be knocked over for laughs and a little cash prize.… Read more »

In October 1995, the NYT covered a luncheon of New York “business & government leaders” who praised Trump as the “Comeback Kid” for resurrecting himself from his money troubles. They gave him a “boomerang award” for being the “comeback of the decade.” https://twitter.com/SteveSGoddard/status/782744668287098880 NYT direct link (remove space): nytimes. com/1995/10/25/nyregion/crowning-the-comeback-king.html The tax news in yours & other articles says NYT obtained copies of his taxes “FROM 1995,” so I assume that was his 1994 taxes which would have been filed in early 1995, right? So the October 1995 NYT article covering the luncheon would have been AFTER his reporting &… Read more »

PS: Actually, now that I’m thinking about it, “FROM 1995” probably refers to his Year-1995 taxes which would not have been filed until the Spring of 1996. So in that case, I guess the award-luncheon took place before him using the loopholes.

Snopes is run by hacks. No more trustworthy than that “politifact” drivel.

It is unbelievable the amount of free advertising the Clintonista is getting from the MSM. This would have caused a loss of licensing only a few years ago. How is this not a violation of the election laws? When they are getting free, 24/7 constant negative advertising against Trump.
It isn’t that no one is asking. It’s just that they are not going to report negative stories on themselves. It’s disgusting.

Aces, this “election” seems to be more about “who do you hate?”. One “side” says, vote for the Clinton Crime Family because they’re NOT Trump. The other says “vote for me because I’m not Hillary”.
Personally, I haven’t even considered Trump. I’ve been fixated on getting rid of Hildebeast. I’m not excited over either of them. I think Trumps a setup but I hope I’m wrong.

Funny how she left out the fact GE parks its five billion offshore, as does several companies. That she has done th same thing. They are grasping going back 21 years for find a non story. She is great at tossing out red herrings and pure lies. I guess she is replacing Harry Reid, because she sounds more like him every day. When is a panic, just toss out lies. Any smart businessman will file taxes just like he did. We did it several years ago on a loss. Perfectly legal. She carefully leaves out all the philanthropic deeds he… Read more »
