Grace on the Day of Destruction

“In the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall, streams of water will flow on every high mountain and every lofty hill.”
– Isaiah 30:25

I was struck by this verse in Isaiah. Although it’s not directly connected to 9-11-2001, the parallel was remarkable. It speaks of God’s grace increasing as the darkness increases.

“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
–Psalm 46:4-7

“On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
–John 7:37

Jesus is Lord. Jesus sent from the Father, Jesus the Great Messaiah, Jesus friend to the friendless, Jesus home for the homeless, Jesus water for the thirsty, Jesus food for the hungry, Jesus the Great I Am HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD. Jesus is LOrd. The Name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and they are safe. NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US SHALL PROSPER. Glad we’re on the same page.

Where there is great evil, there is always great goodness!
