Glenn Beck touts Ted Cruz as fulfillment of Mormon end-days prophecy

On the eve of the Utah caucuses, Ted Cruz has received the endorsement of two prominent Mormons: Glenn Beck and Mitt Romney.
On Tuesday, March 22, Utah Republicans will choose 40 delegates in caucuses. Under Utah’s rules, a candidate who wins more than 50% of the vote captures all of the state’s GOP delegates. If nobody wins more than half, the delegates are apportioned based on the percentage of the vote the candidate wins.

Lee Davidson reports for The Salt Lake Tribune that on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at a Cruz campaign rally of about 5,000 people in Provo High School, Provo, Utah, TV-radio talk host Glenn Beck said about Cruz and Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah), “I don’t have any friends in Washington except these two” because of how they attack the status quo there.
Then Beck said something at once cryptic and alarming. He said that he, like many Mormons, believes in a prophecy that the Constitution will hang by a thread in the last days. Beck said he believes that now is that time, and that people like Lee and Cruz will save it.
Beck also said the Book of Mormon was created as a guide on how to protect freedom in our day, to which the people at the rally responded yelling, “I believe!”
Cruz also received an endorsement from another prominent Mormon — 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
Romney — who had been campaigning for any GOP presidential candidate except Donald Trump — did not appear at Cruz’s rallies, but endorsed Cruz in a Facebook post on Friday. Romney wrote:

“The only path that remains to nominate a Republican rather than Mr. Trump is to have an open convention. At this stage, the only way we can reach an open convention is for Sen. Cruz to be successful in as many of the remaining nominating elections as possible. Today, there is a contest between Trumpism and Republicanism. Through the calculated statements of its leader, Trumpism has become associated with racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence. I am repulsed by each and every one of these.”

Trump responded by calling Romney “the man who ‘choked’ and let us all down,” so his endorsement of Cruz “is good for me.”

For his part, Cruz said that the biggest danger America faces is career politicians who no longer listen, and that he relishes battling them for the people: “The biggest divide we have today in politics is between career politicians in Washington — in both parties — and the American people. Our freedom is at stake. Our nation is dangling in the balance.” Cruz said he has been ridiculed and attacked by such politicians for fighting Obamacare and defending the Constitution, but that he and Sen. Mike Lee are “holding Washington accountable.” Cruz even hinted that he might consider Lee as a Supreme Court nominee if he is elected president.

Thus far, Trump has won 673 delegates, Cruz has won 410 delegates, Ohio Gov. John Kasich has won 143, while Florida Sen. Marco Rubio — who suspended his campaign this week — had won 169. A total of 1,237 delegates is needed to win the Republican Party’s nomination.

It is the height of irony for Glenn Beck to tout Ted Cruz as the savior of the tattered Constitution, for Beck certainly cares not a whit whether Cruz — a Canadian citizen by birth who renounced his Canadian citizenship only last year when a Texas newspaper outed him — is constitutionally eligible to be President of the United States. In that, Beck is simply acting true to character. He had used the MSM’s derisive label “birthers” to refer to Americans who question Obama’s constitutional eligibility to be president. Beck even stooped to calling “birthers” “dumb”. (See “Who’s the stupid one, Glenn Beck?“)

Save the Constitution by electing a second fraud that is in direct violation of our U.S. Constitution???
Only the ignorant, traitorous liars, or cowards, refer to obama as president. Only the ignorant, traitorous liars, or cowards, claim cruz or rubio are “Natural Born” U.S. citizens.

Beck, Cruz, Barton, and Cruz’s father are Dominionists. Yes, I know that Beck is a Mormon, but he’s bought into the Dominionist garbage as well. These people are all into heretical doctrine. It really gives me the willies that Cruz knows he isn’t even eligible, and has his records sealed just like Obama…what we have here is another Obama in Republican drag. He has flip-flopped so many times, it should be his middle name, and he and Rubio voting to give fast-track to this filthy Marxist Muslim in our White House for the TPP trade rot is unconscionable. Then think… Read more »

I liked the man, Cruz, when he did that 15 hr (or was it 13 hrs) filibuster against Obama’s HCB.
Then he showed us a different side of him. The man is not who people think he is!
He is owned by all of those who contributed to his campaign.
Look at this damn list!

Ted’s Wife works at Goldman Sachs. I am so upset, I can barely find the words to even type correctly:

Cruz has to be cringing, standing there listening this stuff fall out of Beck’s mouth and Beck has lost it, he used to be full of good info, but now, he is out there on the fishing dock without any bait.
And Cruz, well, we know he is not elgible, but yet, he stands there all proud of his lies.
And there are some that think Trump has the problem.

What in the world happened to Beck?
I used to watch his TV show religiously. He could take a complicated issue and make it simple.
I had no idea he could turn round and be this type of toxic man!

Take two minutes to view Sinister Sites’ survey of the demonstrably Luciferian and overtly Satanic occult symbolism blanketing Mormonism’s Temple Square in Salt Lake City, particularly the famous Christos statue, intentionally situated so as to depict Christ blocking the Luciferian sunlight and casting the earth in perpetual shadow. Beck is not only a Mormon, but a longterm adept of Bill Wilson’s initiatory, New Age, AA 12-step religion, that claims it isn’t one, in whose biographical chapter in the canonical Big Book Wilson claims he was visited by the Father of Light during a drug- and alcohol-induced psychedelic vision while drying… Read more »

Dan I appreciate your rant ! Joseph Smith was a Freemason and Mormonism is exactly what you stated ! The only thing I hadn’t heard before was about this Bill Wilson. But it all fits doesn’t it?
What stuns me is how many are willing to sell their soul to the devil like Cruz and Beck, and that people lap this refuse up without ever looking beneath the surface.

This whole election smells to high heaven. Trump “might” be the lesser of all evils, but he is financing his own campaign. Somehow that will be repaid. I will vote for whom ever gets the Republican nomination, but I will do it holding my nose.

Glenn Beck had my ear a few years ago, but these days he seems to have gone more than a little crazy.

Why am I NOT surprised…. Money is their god…. I’m sure Goldman Sachs paid their tithes for the first time to the Mormon Church in exchange for Cruz’s endorsement….so transparent.? Each new member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is given one million dollars to take care of any financial obligations they have. This money gift allows them to fully focus on the ministry. He said that the overriding consideration of who is chosen is whether they are “church broke,” meaning, will they do whatever they are told. He said the senior six apostles make the agenda and do… Read more »

Glenn Beck is an over-rated demagoue moron who has let his past popularity go to his head. His failure to challenge Obama’s legitimacy and his attack on those who did, and do, proved to me that he was not worthy of his listeners’ trust.

Mormons are a cult. Beck has lost his mind, and threatens the American election process. Cruz is illegal to run. The whole system in America is corrupt, and the Government officials act as though they are dictators instead of ELECTED people. Pray for the safety of Trump, and that those who are rioting wake up to the fact that they are being used by the puppet masters.

Glenn Beck is having his meltdown, and it’s to be expected. The man is deranged. And it’s a shame, because, except for one former colleague of mine in teaching, I never met a Mormon I didn’t like. (I disagree with their theology 100%, and I believe they worship a false conception of Jesus Christ.)

Steven, It is sad…however, I think you are 100% correct about Beck. He seems to have gone further and further down a little at a time THEN BOOM! He seemed to hit the bottom after he was let go by Fox. I think that had a great deal of an effect on him. He is NOT the sme man he was before.
In the past, he was so clear headed; and one of the few people who could explain complex issues in simple terms so anyone could understand.

Would like to thank Dr. Eowyn for excellent, well-researched articles about current events, especially appreciate the work you’ve done to tell the real story about Sandy Hook. I stumbled on this site years ago and have been a daily reader ever since. I haven’t made a habit of listening to Glenn Beck, but if I happen to hear something he’s said it may be 50/50 that I disagree with him on it. Although his melodramatic style puts me off I think he is sincere. He was giving it as his opinion as a private citizen that Ted Cruz is the… Read more »

I have not a lot of respect for Glenn Beck. He kind of reminds me of Miss Piggy in his histrionics.
And I see that Trump will lose in Mormon Utah b/c of his ownership of casinos. Gambling is forbidden in the Mormon religion.

I’m sipping on a coffee this morning, which is also forbidden by the Mormon faith.
