Fox's 'Family Guy' portrays Jesus as sex-crazed adulterer

Hal G. P. Colebatch, in Return of the Heroes, observed that “the arts not only mirror social and cultural values, but are powerful forces to shape lives and behaviour.”
When Barack Obama was elected president in 2008, he vowed to “transform” America. And indeed he did. Like their man Obama, the Left have been “transforming” America by perverting, polluting, degrading pop culture, pop entertainment, and pop music, among which are cartoons, now called “animation.”
Gone are the days of truly inventive and funny cartoons like Bugs Bunny and Wile E. Coyote of Warner Brothers’ Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. In their place are unfunny “adult animation,” the most puerile of which is Fox Broadcasting Company’s Family Guy — an animation sitcom created by the vile Seth MacFarlane, about the Griffins, a family consisting of a mom, an obese dad named Peter, 3 children, and their pet dog Brian who talks and spews obscenities.
Family Guy has opened a new vicious front on the War on Christmas and on Christianity in America with a Christmas-themed episode last Sunday night titled “The 2,000-Year-Old Virgin” that portrays Jesus Christ as a sex-crazed adulterer.
Family Guy
Billy Halloway reports for The Blaze, Dec. 8, 2014, that “The 2,000-Year-Old Virgin” is about Peter Griffin and his friends trying to help Christ lose his virginity, according to Christian Today.
“After running into Jesus at the Quahog Mall, Peter is stunned to discover that the Son of God is still a virgin,” reads the episode’s synopsis. “So, he enlists Quagmire and Cleveland to help him throw Jesus the best birthday ever by finding a way to help him become a man.”
At one point during the episode, Jesus told Peter he wants to lose his virginity to Peter’s wife, Lois — a request that Peter agrees to in exchange for a massage chair.
“Look Peter, I know it’s a lot to ask, but if it wasn’t okay I wouldn’t suggest it,” Jesus said while trying to convince Peter to agree.
Later, while speaking with her husband and considering Jesus’ request, Lois said, “The son of God’s first time should be special.”
In the end, Peter and Lois change their mind and decide against the plan after it is revealed that Jesus tricks husbands every year into allowing him to sleep with their wives.
Clearly, the episode was intentionally filled with themes and comments that many Christians would find offensive — a fact that was openly admitted in one scene, as the shows creators poked fun at those they knew would be uncomfortable with the subject matter.
And if there’s any question about the episode’s intention to spark controversy during the holiday season, consider the single line that accompanies its description on the “Family Guy” website. It reads: “Happy Birthday, Jesus.”

  1. Would this not be up there with blaspheming the Holy Spirit?

  2. Robert McElhaney

Expected from Hollywood Trash,Scum of the Earth.

  3. Perhaps in fairness to Islam they should portray Mohammed searching for several wives at various daycares around Peter’s town! Or maybe some of his buddies and their sons could dress up for the “holiday” Bacha Bazi party to honor the practice of pedophilia in Muslim countries. Oh Heaven’s no! We wouldn’t want to offend our Muslim brethren now would we? Only Christians and Jews are fair game. I never watch this show (or TV at all) and this sort of garbage is why. I am saddened and disgusted after reading this story. But at least I won’t be the one answering to our Father in Heaven for this offense. Woe be to them.

  4. “Don’t watch anymore television, you must pray without ceasing each day. I request that you also fast & offer many sacrifices every day. Tell my children to pray, fast, & be reconciled with GOD.” Most Holy Mary 9/27

  5. Thank you for this information. I have not watched this show for a while, but I am not surprised. President BHO does not want to hear anything derogatory said about the Apostle; what does he (or any other Muslim or other people, especially politicians and media minions) have to say about the insults of God/Messiah?

  6. I’m wondering where is the outrage from the Christian community who are the majority of this country? That show and the network should be pulled off the air. If it were the pedophile mohammed insulted on tv, muslims would be in the streets demanding the heads of the writers, producers, etc. But because we are Christians…..they get away with it? Boycott fox network…..demand an apology!!! Blaspheming the Son of God. These satanists are truly pathetic….they will answer to God for their despicable acts.

  7. When Family Guy first aired I watched a few of the first season episodes but could not take any more, like a sewage holding tank overflowing, nonstop blasphemy and *&(&^& language plus they always took a joke and beat it to death in an endless loop. Today’s young seem to view vile lowlife shows as quality entertainment.
I use my TV now as a large screen monitor for watching old reruns of the original Twilight Zone, Outer Limits some science shows
It does still seem strange that the only religious figure that is fair game for very sort of defaming and blaspheming is Jesus Christ, and it just keeps getting worse.
How far away from the end can we be? It seems to be speeding toward us like a runaway train

  8. Television lately… check out “reality” shows, too.

  9. This is the reason I never watch that show. When the pilot first aired it was devastatingly funny, but as the episodes began to play it was obvious this humor was going downhill. Hideous.

  10. Can’t say that I’m surprised about this, given earlier family guy aired an episode wherein the vile obese jerk remarked that he could “have any 3 year old girl he wanted”, I quit watching the show after that, and there is no excuse for even trying for that kind of “joke”. You might notice the show was not canceled after that, either, which is telling of the networks that air it.

  11. I knew a woman years ago from a Scandinavian country who was a very nice lady. She was very recollected, self-possessed and self-contained. She was intelligent and articulate, and she cared about and helped other people. Yet for all of her good qualities, the lady was a PAGAN (albeit an honest one). Never ONCE did I ever hear her mention the idea of God, let alone the name of Jesus. I would hate to see her, or others like her, to be lost. So I will pray for her.
This is what galls me about atheists: Why do they hate a God they do not believe exists so much? And they’re adamant as all-get-out about it. Their atheism can’t “stay in its own backyard,” No: They insist on spreading their poison to others.
And so it comes to this: Mocking Jesus Christ, the Very One who challenged the Pharisees to convict Him of sin. The producers of these programs are VERMIN!
Congratulations, America. You had a Christian culture. ….AND IT’S GONE.

    • “This is what galls me about atheists: Why do they hate a God they do not believe exists so much?”
That’s a very good and very logical question, Steven.
Because those hateful atheists are atheists in name only, but satanists in actuality? — Like Madalyn O’Hair whose motto was the satanists’ creed “Do what thou wilt shall be the only law.”

    • Hi Steven, did the woman actually tell you that she was an atheist or it is just the lack of talking about God that gave you that impression?
I live in Denmark and one funny thing about the Scandinavian culture is that you are not supposed to talk about your religious belief… so many people are indeed christian, go to church and pray, but they would never share that with other people, because it’s a rather personal thing… Have no idea why it is like that…

  12. Thank you Dr. Eowyn for this informative post. We never watch this show. But clearly, it is blasphemous and horrible. I pray that they fail and go off the air inasmuch as they have chosen to insult Our Lord.

  13. Notice that none of these shows ever show Mohammed in a demeaning way,
which they should. They are willing to offend Christians but fear Muslim
    reaction.

  14. I think SM is portraying what’s out there in certain quarters. I also think Jesus was open to criticism. If they’re daring us to judge them, don’t take the bait unless you actually can sway him. Surely, at some point we recognize the bad and reasons people vent, spew, and assert wacko stuff to some degree. But all things have a limit, all but God. SM has seemed to me to delve into how ppl reallly tick as a regular Joe, and I base my judgement upon that basis first, because it is a generous quality given him or cultivated. Whether he has pride issue growing or not, I don’t rightly know.

    • Evangelizing (IMHO) isn’t about “swaying” someone to become Christian…it is about the Holy Spirit working through Christians to allow non-believers to see the light about truth, which is Jesus, the Son Of God….like a spiritual epiphany. I think what seth macfarlane, family guy et all, portrayed was sickness and willingness of certain people to let the devil lead them. That “cartoon” was not critical of Jesus, it was blasphemous. It called Jesus, who is the Son Of God, a LIAR (because the character they called “jesus” was a serial sexual manipulator of married women and came to be so because he convinced each one she was his first), a COVETER (because the character they called “jesus” had sex with married women and those acts made the character break one of The Lord’s own commandments, “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife”)….it called Jesus a “2000 year old virgin” (He is the Son Of God, He IS God and above all things earthly, including human desires and strangleholds to the flesh…even virginity, because when someone is a virgin they still desire sex). Jesus came to earth to sacrifice himself to defeat the devil and save our souls, both male and female, not to covet females which is being led by satan AND Jesus was never led by satan). family guy and crew will have to stand and answer to Our Lord for their lies about Jesus. I wonder how many people treat what those satanic people put in their cartoon show about Jesus as gospel because they lie and we all know the devil is a liar.

  15. you ppl who say bad things about islam in the comments should be ashamed of yourself your the most horrible and low life there are in the world. why not talk about the jews who made this tv show or the christians who help put this show on the air when you cant do anything about it you insult others. they don’t fear muslims they don’t gain anything from degrading islam but if they degrade Christianity they can spread there hate quicker and turn ppl away from Christianity and from god. we muslims believe in jesus too and he means a lot to us we are offended by this too so please don’t think you are alone in this matter.

    • What, early in your post, you tell us that we are the most horrible and low life people there are in the world. That is written in the Koran, too, but we don’t accept that. Jesus said, “No man is good.” That includes you and me. “Only God is good.” It is helpful to be told of our faults, but the faults increasing so much today are not common to good Christians and Jews; in fact, those of us who accept the teachings of the Old and New Testament disapprove of those corrupting our society. Pray to God for understanding and knowledge in the matter, then, for a start, read Psalms, Proverbs, and the Gospel starting with that of John, although they all are good.
Unfortunately, activity of many Muslims, such as showing belief in violent jihad, is ordered in the Koran and results in horrible massacres (including that of children) and slavery (including sexual slavery). That is just referring to the Koran. Add the Hadith and other material, and there is a source for much criticism. Jews are not apes and pigs, and Christians who follow the teachings of Messiah, Jesus, are not horrible, and Islamic writings declaring such can not be accepted by practicing Cristians and Jews.
Thank you for wisely pointing out the failings of those who are not living according to Judeo Christian values.
