For a Lazy Sunday Afternoon…

This show was at the Kiel Opera House in St Louis, June 1965, when Johnny Carson hosted the Tonight Show.
The Rat Pack were playing Vegas, but came to visit.
This was the ONLY time Carson sang in public! Quincy Jones was conducting the Count Basie band.
Now they’re all gone: Sinatra, Martin, Davis, Carson….
H/t my dear friend Lisa, the Bunny Lady.

Aren’t we lucky to have seen them? Music in the sixties was phenomenal.
You’re maybe from CA, and the music scene was a little different from NYC.
But we were were blessed to live through this era.
TV was wonderful! Western heroes, private eyes, The Show of Shows…Ernie Kovacs….on and on and on….

Oh Gaaawd! I loved those guys! I am so proud Quincy Jones is from Seattle and I know he is missing his rat pack buddies… a stage full of legends! Those were golden years and we didn’t know it!
