Feds paid $1 BILLION in Social Security benefits to individuals without a SSN

serious
Drain the over-bloated, incompetent swamp.
From Fox NewsThe Social Security Administration paid $1 billion in benefits to individuals who did not have a Social Security Number (SSN), according to a new audit.
The agency’s inspector general found errors in the government’s documentation for representative payees, otherwise known as individuals who receive retirement or disability payments on behalf of another person who is incapable of managing the benefits themselves.
The audit released Friday found thousands of cases where there was no SSN on file.
Over the last decade, the agency paid $1 billion to 22,426 representative payees who “did not have an SSN, and SSA had not followed its policy to retain the paper application.”
“Furthermore, unless it takes corrective action, we estimate SSA will pay about $182.5 million in benefits, annually, to representative payees who do not have an SSN or paper application supporting their selection,” the inspector general said.
The inspector general also found the agency paid $853.1 million in benefits since 2004 to individuals who had been terminated as representative payees by the agency.

Simply outrageous. I just sent a tweet to President Trump, asking him to please do something about this.

Reblogged this on necltr and commented:
The hat trick! (Ice hockey term.) People are bribed to come here, money is borrowed for the funds (debt now above $19 trillion), and NWO takes over our country because of lack of ability to pay that debt. What is not to like? Unless you are a Globalist and an enemy, foreign or domestic.

DCG . . . fabulous article, although I nearly had heart failure upon reading it! This is so outrageous, I certainly hope that monies were cut off immediately under these circumstances. I would also say that if it is traceable, any SS employees who have authorized funds when full authentication has not been offered, and they are still working for the SS Administration, there should be a “warning citation” for failure to discharge their duties in a competent manner attached to their employment record. Upon earning two “warning citation’s” there employment with the SS Administration should be terminated! There should… Read more »

How about this? Once we get rid of the corruption, the career politicians, and the illegal/unconstitutional Government policies,we use some of the savings to reimburse the Social Security System in full for the money stolen by the Government to fund “busywork” and pork-barrrel programs and funds given to illegals, correct the membership rolls to reflect ONLY those who HAVE paid in,adjust the payments to those who have EARNED it to a FAIR rate, and throw the rest into paying down our National Debt.

The report notes that “Illegal aliens without SSNs are allowed to receive benefits from the government when acting as representatives for their minor children.” It is unclear how many recipients of the $1 billion in improper Social Security benefits were in this country illegally.

It is a sad day when those we elected to protect us, let this happen.
They don’t worry about our funds, since they get a huge cash cow retirement for very little work or time served.
Before the 2012 election, they took massive amounts of people out of unemployment and put them into SSDI to make their numbers look better for the election.
Again, the people that worked hard for decades were betrayed.

Oyee, Oyee, listen up: Nothing changes except the weather! I have government records to document that, after 1866, when government /legislature voted into law a pension to Union “orphans” of soldiers/sailors who’d been killed in the Civil War (mothers might have still been alive, but if FATHER was dead, they were “orphans.”—-Consider the opportunities of the day for a widowed mother to participate in the economy in almost any way in order to support her children)—-there was a hoard of Northern “carpet-bagger” welfare-suckers who fed off these “orphans.” And—the Federal government did NOTHING to stop them……….NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED IN… Read more »

Auntie…so sorry about your brother’s experiences….but more people than me and you have noticed that today’s employees at the personnel level—cashiers, info intake receptionists…etc…the ones on the FRONT LINE of customer intake….have the intellect/responsibility level of a moth fluttering around a light source: unfocused on the customer…only centered upon their own “light source” and so—disinterested, distracted, uninterested. And, to boot, so many of them have a limited vocabulary/understanding of anything beyond a 4th-grade level…..even IF they apply 100% of their capabilities. Everyone today seems to have an “IEP” (Individual Education Plan), from public school, follow them out of middle and… Read more »

I have a sixty year old friend who got on disability because she basically could not get a job, so she exaggerated her mental illness, which existed but had never prevented her from working and she got disability. Since then she can work part time earning up to 800 a month plus she gets 1500 in disability. She’s done that for 15 years now. She often has more money than I do, pays no tax and gets VA benefits even though she was in the military for a total of three weeks. Sometimes I think the system is really broken.… Read more »
