Dolly Parton says Americans have lost our morals

At the Hollywood premiere of her new movie, Joyful Noise, on Jan. 11, 2012, this woman bleated that Americans “just seem to have lost all our morals and principles and values these days”:

Since Parton has loyal admirers among FOTM’s writers, all I’ll say is:

God looks not on the outward appearance but the heart. Dolly Parton’s heart is quite beautiful.

Who has a problem with this?? (I actually read the article.) At least she wasn’t disobeying scripture to place faith in an army rather than GOD. (Which God says in the BIBLE is an incredible SIN.) “Parton said working on the faith-based film brought her closer to God. “I always ask God to work through me, and let me be a light of some kind and help in this world, so I always pray for that and I always want to do good,” she continued. “We’re all just a bunch of sinners, but we do the best we can. He… Read more »

I am a little confused about the whole army thing. Joshua had an army, David had an army, Samuel had an army, and these are just a few. How can we say that God has not done miraculous things through our army? I believe our army is what it is because of our Lord and Savior! I do have faith in our Army because I have faith that our Lord is with them. IMO having faith in something is not a sin, but having other gods is a sin. I am very THANKFUL for our men and women who give… Read more »

I’m sorry but someone who starred in a cheesy movie called “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” cannot teach me anything about morals.

No, God does not look on the outward appearance. …which means whether we are beautiful, ugly tall, short, fat or thin, expensive clothes cheap clothes but HE above ANYONE said to clothe ourselves in modesty. We are not to be concerned with the paint and pliating the hair and to dress so that we don’t call attention to ourselves. (not quoted, just interpreted). But if one reads up and is honest…it is IN THERE!!

Let me just say, I got mine b/c I wanted to rebel, which I think is part of growing up. I couldn’t drink yet, I was underage and that would be breaking the law, and I have never felt the need to mess with drugs, so I got a tattoo. It’s a butterfly on my hip. Well….2 kids later…that butterfly looks like it HIT a WALL and is just trying to survive! Everyone gets older, things begin to sag here or fall there, I do not know why I thought a tattoo would be any different! But at least I… Read more »

Just for the record, Dave is not a fan of big boobs, and especially not fake ones.
I like them natural.
And that is all I am going to say. 🙂

Dave’s remark made me feel even more depressed about the top heaviness with old-man-butts that runs in my family. 🙁

As a kid I remember watching a cheesy movie where she played a character who died and went to heaven, and everyone else in heaven was wearing normal robes, but she had on a white low-cut outfit to push-up and accentuate her old wrinkled watermelons. So “Christian”!

I think the problem with Dolly might be that God has given her a platform yet she tends to ignore that and instead lives in the grey colored areas in life. You cannot ride the fence in this day and age. I feel that you need to age gracefully, with dignity. It gets to a point you began to look like Joan Rivers, but at least she will admit it. It isn’t the makeup.

As Christians we are to take a stand for right and wrong even if we were to risk losing money. I have friends who I found out were oblivious enough to vote for Obama because they were so utterly clueless about facts. You have Obama supporters who are evil and those who are clueless. If people like Dolly Parton would speak up and not care what evil people thought, then clueless people like my friends might have known better than to vote for Obama.

I believe God alone has provided Dolly a platform, now what she does with it, is up to her.  Who knows, maybe she has been strategically placed in her position for such a time as this?  “….And who knows but that you have come to your royal  position for such a time as this?”   ❤(Esther 4:14 NIV)❤ The difference is that Queen Esther was placed into a LIFE or DEATH situation (coming before the king uninvited meant death).  She also had to choose whether or not she should speak up against her husband’s order (His ring was used by Haman,… Read more »
