Let's move and eat some ancho-chile short ribs!

So much for the diet: Anti-obesity crusader Michelle Obama feasts on ribs during pricey family vacation
Michelle Obama feasted on ribs while on her skiing holiday, it has emerged. The First Lady, who has spearheaded a campaign to change American eating habits, ate ancho-chile short ribs from a restaurant next to her luxury ski hotel in Vail, Colorado.
The first lady went to Restaurant Kelly Liken in Vail Village on Saturday night, dining on a braised ancho-chile short rib with hominy wild mushrooms, the Vail Daily reported.  Chef and owner Kelly Liken said: ‘Yes, it’s true, the first lady dined at our restaurant tonight and seemed to really enjoy it.’
Speaking on his radio show Rush Limbaugh said: ‘The problem is, and dare I say this, it doesn’t look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritional, dietary advice. And then we hear that she’s out eating ribs at 1,500 calories a serving with 141 grams of fat per serving (assuming she had 4 to 6 pieces)… I’m trying to say that our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She’s a hypocrite. Leaders are supposed to be leaders. If we’re supposed to go out and eat nothing, if we’re supposed to eat roots and berries and tree bark, show us how.”
The Let’s Move! campaign states, “But in today’s busy world, this isn’t always easy. So Let’s Move! offers parents and caregivers the tools, support and information they need to make healthier choices while instilling healthy eating habits in children that will last a lifetime.”
Ah yes, short ribs for dinner. And remember that Super Bowl Party Menu? Wouldn’t a salad have been more responsible? I understand that it’s really not our business what she eats and that occasional exception can be made. Yet if you chose to be a champion for healthy eating, I suggest you lead by example for the children, and cut back on the cheeseburgers and Obama cut back on the junk food.

  1. WHAT?
NO bowl of caviar on the side?
    NO ice cream?
    NO champagne?

  2. Moochelle is a porcine Libtard with a double standard and triple appetite.
She should follow her own advice and stay away from the spandex.

  3. Gee, I almost feel sorry for Big Mama Michelle on this one. It sucks to take such a stand, to be the “personification of healthy choices” and to be the public face of such a position. Wiser first ladies have promoted literacy and beautification of highways. In this internet age of a 24/7 news cycle, every morsel she puts in her mouth will be scrutinized and editorialized until Obama is out of office.
Oprah could have warned her that food issues could come back and bite you in the butt. I wonder why she didn’t?

Oprah has a love/hate relationship with the Obama’s. I believe she would gladly throw them under the bus based on her mood of the moment.
Americans need to go back to basics and use their brains; not their computers.

  5. I can’t argue with that, Zorro!

  6. Hey, she did her part… they owe her. 🙂

  7. Hypocrisy thy name is Michelle Obama.

  8. Dave, long time no see, yeah I know it’s been awhile…again 🙂 sometimes I’m gone other times I turn up like a bad penny or that really annoying relative that shows up during the Superbowl or in my case the Daytona 500 😉

    • Greetings heavy…I believe I remember you.

    • Heavy,
Yeah, Daytona was a mixed bag. 15 yellow hankies was a little tiresome, but the finish was pretty cool – when it finally came around.
Not sure about the whole ethanol thing, though.
Phoenix is a much shorter track, so we’ll see how it all works out there.
Atlanta will be interesting, too. 🙂

      • I hear you Dave but it was nice to see the new kid take it (Heck I can’t even remember his name) but I’m glad for him. I think the Wood brothers own his car, if so I’m glad for them as well they’ve been have a real bad streak for the past few years if I remember correctly.

  9. Oh for those of you who don’t know It’s just plain old “Will” it’s just that I decided to use my log on so my moniker from NB’s is in place of my name.
I know, what your thinking “Duh we could have figured it out with that big honking Chevy avatar in place! :-)”

  10. I am so sick of these people.

  11. I don’t begrudge Michelle having ribs.
    I love ribs.
What I don’t like is Michelle telling me to eat tofu and steamed vegetables while she is chowing down on said ribs.
