No doubt the gang member purchased the weapon in Indiana

From MyFoxChicago: A gang member from Chicago is facing charges after being found with an assault rifle Wednesday in northwest suburban Rosemont.

Julio C. Perez, 30, was charged with felony counts of possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor counts of possession of a weapon and ammunition without a FOID card, according to Rosemont police.

On Wednesday, detectives surveilling Perez saw him place a “long narrow object wrapped in a towel” into the trunk of a vehicle, police said. Based on information from sources, investigators believed it was a rifle.

Detectives then followed the vehicle into Rosemont before pulling Perez over in the 10400 block of Carol Court, where he was taken into custody, police said. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators found an AK-47 rifle and 71 rounds of ammunition in the vehicle’s trunk.

Perez, who is a documented and self-identified gang member, is being held at Cook County Jail on $750,000 bail, police said. His next court date was set for Dec. 6.

  1. Since Demonrats themselves are lawless, that’s why they refuse to acknowledge that it’s colossally stupid to expect criminals to abide by gun-control laws.

  2. When people have no fear of the law they will be inclined to ignore it.

I am constantly disgusted by such reports of individuals being prosecuted for the simple possession of a firearm alone. That is a complete violation of the intent of our Constitution.

It can, or a least should, only be the criminal use of a firearm that should be regulated. Yet, I have lost count of the times it is reported a person being charged with “possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime”, as if the crime itself can not carry enough penalty. Baffles me how any legal mind can conceive such juvenile concepts.

This s where our new age law and government is headed. To be judged and even prosecuted for opportunity rather than actions.

  4. You didn’t expect Julio to be smart, did You? Julio, hahaha, is a dumb a@@. Now, what was on his mind when he got caught? Hope he sits in jail for a long time, maybe he will pickup some “smarts” from the brotherhood.

  5. I have a feeling Julio has been in jail before…. He must love that fine Holiday fare…. Nothing says Thanksgiving like a slice of turkey roll with bland instant mashed potatoes, dried out dressing, squash gruel and watery cranberry sauce… He is going to be locked up until December 6th…

  6. No doubt a member of that Enarray gang!

  7. Rosemont is a small suburb just outside of Chicago, next to O’hare Airport, a casino, and where this gangbanger was picked up, a couple blocks from the Allstate Arena. There’s a gated part of Rosemont, and the other part is predominately Latino, which is where Julio was pulled over.

Who knows if this guy wanted to shoot up any of the above places?

Kudos to the detectives following him. Even though this happened last week, it avoided an incident like this happening today in Shitcago, where 4, including a cop, were killed:

  8. There are also numerous conventions held in Rosemont throughout the year.
