The once-beautiful, demorat-run city of Seattle has turned into a nightmare.
You’ve got a serious homeless problem. Even a BILLION taxpayer dollars isn’t enough to solve that problem.
You’ve got a serious problem with repeat criminal offenders. Due to the progressive “criminal justice reform” agenda, there are many, many repeat offenders who are never properly punished.
Then you’ve got ANTIFA/BLM/demorat thugs taking over the city streets and rioting, looting and burning the city down. And the elected politicians cave to their demands.
So why would any reasonable, taxpaying-citizen want to remain in this liberal utopia? It appears that many residents have had enough and are heading out.
KOMO News reports that more Seattle-area residents selling their homes and fleeing the city. This is based on a Redfin report which states that the number of home sellers looking to leave the Seattle metro area has jumped to 13.7%, compared with 11.2% at the same time last year.
Also notable? The net outflow of homeowners from Seattle has soared from 363 in the second quarter of last year to 6,007 in the second quarter of this year – a jump of more than 1,500%.
Redfin claims that the reasons people are leaving are because of the Wuhan virus, to move closer to family, flexible remote work which means people don’t “have to live in this area,” and low mortgage rates.
Gee, ‘ya think the crazy violence and lack of law and order might have something to do with it?
When leadership, such as that seen under Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, allows and encourages lawlessness then you can expect the mob rage to act.
Solely based on this perp’s skin color, agitators attempted to block his arrest. Bet they didn’t even know he attempted to harm two women with a handsaw. That doesn’t matter. The narrative must be followed. Watch:
Graphic: Shane V. Green, who is black, walked inside a NE Portland laundromat & used a sharp handsaw to attack two women. Responding police located him on a nearby street but the arrest was interrupted by Portlanders who screamed at & taunted officers, accusing them of racism. pic.twitter.com/qfi2NJEen9
Someone started a petition on Change.org to demand that Trader Joe’s remove racist branding and packaging from its stores. Apparently the brand packaging belies “a narrative of exoticism” and “exoticizes other cultures — it presents ‘Joe’ as the default ‘normal.”
“The grocery chain labels some of its ethnic foods with modifications of “Joe” that belies a narrative of exoticism that perpetuates harmful stereotypes. For example, “Trader Ming’s” is used to brand the chain’s Chinese food, “Arabian Joe” brands Middle Eastern foods, “Trader José” brands Mexican foods, “Trader Giotto’s” is for Italian food, and “Trader Joe San” brands their Japanese cuisine. Furthermore, the Trader Joe’s company takes pride in the fact that the founder, Joe Coulombe, took inspiration in building the Trader Joe’s brand from a racist book and a controversial theme park attraction, both of which have received criticism for romanticizing Western Imperialism and fetishizing non-Western peoples.
We learn directly from the Trader Joe’s website that the first Trader Joe’s store: “had a nautical theme and it was run by people who were described as “traders on the high seas.” At the time, Joe had been reading a book called “White Shadows in the South Seas,” and he’d been to the Disneyland Jungle Trip ride, and it all just…coalesced. To this day, Trader Joe’s Crew Members consider themselves “traders on the culinary seas” and are known for their bright, tropical-patterned shirts…”
I’m sure EVERYONE who walks into Trader Joe’s is really, really upset about the history of this brand.
And the company is complying because Cancel Culture is a very real thing:
“While this approach to product naming may have been rooted in a lighthearted attempt at inclusiveness, we recognize that it may now have the opposite effect— one that is contrary to the welcoming, rewarding customer experience we strive to create every day,” said Kenya Friend-Daniel, national director of public relations for Trader Joe’s. “With this in mind, we made the decision several years ago to use only the Trader Joe’s name on our products moving forward. Since then, we have been in the process of updating older labels and replacing any variations with the name Trader Joe’s, and we will continue do so until we complete this important work.”

The city of Portland is on day 50-something of daily riots by ANTIFA/thugs/demorats. You may not be aware of this violence though as the mainstream media is not reporting the truth.
If you want to know what is happening there, follow Andy Ngo on Twitter. Here’s what is happening in the streets of Portland:
The 50th day of violent protests in Portland.
Antifa & BLM attack the front of the boarded-up federal courthouse. Whenever law enforcement responds, mayor, senators & gov calls it incitement to violence against “peaceful protesters.” Video by @FromKalen: pic.twitter.com/xaP5Vk2tko
Sucks to be living in Portland right now. Fox News reports that local businesses have reported $23 million in losses due to looting and rioting that have gripped its downtown area since the end of May.
Yet you guys knew that elections would have consequences. Enjoy your liberal utopia!
The day after the above scene, the police union is asking President Trump for help because the mayor won’t stop the rioters and violent thugs. From MyFoxChicago: “Chicago police union wants Trump to intervene as video seems to shows protesters rioters throwing things at cops.”
And while Mayor Lightfoot IS being derelict in her duty to provide law and order in her city, she’s got her priorities straight:
“Leaders in the black community are calling on the New York Police Department to bring back the plainclothes Anti-Crime Unit that was eliminated last month as shootings and murders spike across the city.
About 600 undercover officers from the unit were set to be transferred to other assignments including detective work and policing neighborhoods, NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said a month ago. The anti-crime unit, which was responsible for getting guns off the streets, had been criticized as stoking distrust in law enforcement in minority communities.
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, one of the African-American voices calling for action on gun violence, criticized the police force’s decision to completely disband the unit. He deplored the recent deadly shooting of a one-year-old, one of the victims of New York City’s recent spike in gun violence.
“I think that a total elimination is something we need to reevaluate,” Adams said, CBS New York reported. “Right now, bad guys are saying if you don’t see a blue and white you can do whatever you want.”
Tony Herbert, an activist in New York’s black community, agreed and lamented the rise in violence, criticizing New York officials for their failure to address the situation.
“The guns keep going off and now we have a 1-year-old and the blood is on the hands of the mayor and the state Legislature,” Herbert said.
The decision to disband the anti-crime unit was also panned by Police Benevolent Association President Pat Lynch, who warned that consequences would follow if city leaders refused to deal with increased gun violence.
“Anti-Crime’s mission was to protect New Yorkers by proactively preventing crime, especially gun violence,” Lynch said in a statement. “Shooting and murders are both climbing steadily upward, but our city leaders have decided that proactive policing isn’t a priority anymore. They chose this strategy. They will have to reckon with the consequences.”
The city’s murder rate for the month ending June 7 has more than doubled from the same period last year, and shooting victims have increased by 45 percent. Meanwhile, arrests for illegal gun possession have dropped dramatically, with only 29 people arrested during the week that ended July 5, down from 70 during the same week last year, according to NYPD data.
In recent weeks, the NYPD has experienced a surge of over 400 percent in retirement applications from officers amid tensions with city officials and after the city’s police budget was slashed by $1 billion.”
