Secret Service agent who refused to protect Trump is a rabid feminist

No surprise there.

Secret Service agents are supposed to guard and protect (“take the bullet”) the President of the United States with their life.

Kerry O’Grady is a senior Secret Service agent at the Denver, CO office.

In 2016, O’Grady wrote on her personal Facebook page that, if Trump was elected POTUS, she would rather face “jail time” than take “a bullet” for him because she considered him a “disaster” for America, especially as it relates to women and children.

After the media reported her anti-Trump comments, she said in an interview and written statement that the Facebook post should not be taken literally and that she would in no way shirk her duties to protect the president because of her opposition to his presidency and her support for Hillary Clinton’s candidacy. An internal Secret Service misconduct investigation led to her forced departure from the Denver office, where she hasn’t been seen since, although she remains on the payroll.

Now we know what O’Grady has been doing with her free time.

Susan Crabtree reports for The Washington Free Beacon, Jan. 10, 2019, that for a second year, O’Grady is helping organize a “Womxn’s” March on Denver on January 19 as a member of the event’s executive leadership team, according to the march’s website.

The website says organizers included an “x” in the word “woman,” “because we believe in equity and we act with purpose to make space for trans, non-binary and genderqueer persons in our name.”

O’Grady bio on the march’s website says:

Kerry O’Grady spent 25 years as a special agent in the mostly white, male-dominated field of federal law enforcement. She is a witness to the fact that institutionalized disparities and unconscious biases continue to prevent women and minorities from obtaining equality in the workplace and in the criminal justice system. She is determined to use her privilege and energy to mobilize around a movement that uplifts women and strives to dismantle systems of oppressions.

Although the premier group for retired agents, the Former Agents U.S. Secret Service, expelled her from the ranks of associate members, O’Grady appears to remain on the Secret Service payroll and continues to live in Denver. Multiple sources close to the Secret Service told the Washington Free Beacon that although she has been sidelined from her previous role as the head of the Denver office, her name still appears on an internal agency “locator” of all active Secret Service agents and their contact information without any type of restriction or qualifier.

In recent months, she crowed to other agents that she “beat” the Secret Service’s misconduct charges for her anti-Trump Facebook posts and that she plans to retire within the next 60 to 90 days. According to Truthfinder, Kerry O’Grady is only 48 years old.

Congressional leaders have recently faulted other Department of Homeland Security agencies for the use of paid and unpaid leave to allow favored employees facing substantiated claims of misconduct to remain long enough to attain full retirement benefits.

Outgoing Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) last week released the results of a nearly four-year investigation into the U.S. Marshals Service, an agency where a flood of Secret Service agents have transferred in recent years. The new report specifically criticized the U.S. Marshals Service for allowing employees with substantiated misconduct to remain on paid or unpaid leave long enough to reach key retirement dates. Grassley said the probe uncovered a culture of misconduct that echoed similar problems his committee and others have uncovered at the Secret Service.

The Hatch Act is a federal law that restricts certain federal employees from engaging in partisan political activity. But according to Sean Bigley, a partner at Bigley Ranish, a firm specializing in federal employment cases and security-clearance denials, O’Grady’s involvement in the Womxn’s March would probably pass legal muster. He said: “A government employee speaking in their capacity as a private citizen on a matter of public concern generally retains their First Amendment rights. But if she were speaking about matters that were of direct bearing on her employment and her job duties—speech that was disruptive in the workplace, for example—her agency would have more latitude to restrict that speech or prevent it and discipline her for that.”

Bigley also said O’Grady’s paid administrative leave is rare because all of his Secret Service clients facing misconduct charges were placed on unpaid administrative leave.

Echoing Bigley, Cheri Cannon, a partner at the law firm Tully Rickey, said Secret Service managers often impose unpaid leave and revoke security clearances in misconduct cases in order to force a person to quit rather than go through the lengthy appeals process to try to get their security clearance reinstated.

The Secret Service declined to comment about O’Grady’s employment status or any other matter related to her, nor did O’Grady respond to an email to her Secret Service email address seeking comment.

Washington state governor proposes state-run healthcare system

Seems the proggies received the same memo (see my previous two posts).

Residents in Washington state already have “access to affordable health care” via free and low cost clinics. In my search of seven counties throughout Washington (out of 39 total counties) I came across 159 clinics. That fact won’t stop the TDS-infected governor from implementing another bureaucratic/big government program.

As reported by MyNorthwest.com: Governor Jay Inslee introduced Cascade Care Tuesday morning, a plan to provide a state-run healthcare system akin to “Medicare for all.”

“We believe it is a just thing to do for all of our citizens to have access to affordable health care,” Inslee said at a press conference Tuesday. “…Today I am pleased to announce that we will be proposing a public option in the State of Washington, to take yet another significant step in the goal of universal coverage in the State of Washington.”

Inslee announced his proposal flanked by a variety of lawmakers at the King County Downtown Seattle Public Health Clinic Tuesday morning. He was joined by King County Executive Dow Constantine, State Rep. Eileen Cody, State Sen. David Frockt, State Senator Karen Keiser, and the state’s Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler.

According to Inslee, the proposed Cascade Care bill will direct the state’s healthcare authority to provide coverage across Washington by contracting with one or more healthcare carriers. That coverage will begin in 2021.

That coverage will be available to anyone in the individual market. It will also set reimbursement rates consistent with Medicare. Using the service will be voluntary and patients will spend no more than 10 percent of their income on premiums.

Officials said Tuesday that it will cost the state $500,000 to set up the new system and accept bids from carriers. Costs beyond that weren’t specified.

Sen. Keiser noted that Washington once had an “incredibly popular” basic healthcare program between the late 1980s until the Great Recession. Implementing the Affordable Care Act eventually became a priority instead of restarting that program. “We have done this before, and we can do it again,” she said. “….Now it’s time to come back to the public option and include it in our array of healthcare services.”

Inslee, and other lawmakers present, pointed a finger of blame at the Trump administration, saying that it has worked to remove healthcare protections provided by the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. Inslee said that there are 14 counties in the state that are on the verge of losing healthcare coverage altogether.

“We are on the knife’s edge,” Inslee said. “And we need to give a solid foundation of support to every county and every citizen in the State of Washington because that is a moral imperative.”

The governor also noted the work that has already been done to provide healthcare in Washington over the past few years, primarily through the state’s exchange: More than 800,000 Washingtonians have gained access to healthcare; Provided coverage to 30,000 cancer survivors in the state; and Provided 90,000 people with substance abuse treatment.

“But we need to take the next step,” Inslee said. “That’s why I’m glad we have put the dollars in my proposed budget that will allow us to set up this public option in the State of Washington.”

CA Gov. Newsom pushes new health care plan to help illegal aliens

Elections have con$equences.

From Fox News: Shortly after he took office on Monday, California’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom unearthed an unprecedented new health care agenda for his state, aimed at offering dramatically more benefits to illegal immigrants and protecting the embattled Affordable Care Act, which a federal judge recently struck down as unconstitutional.

The sweeping proposal appeared destined to push California — already one of the nation’s most liberal states — even further to the left, as progressive Democrats there won a veto-proof supermajority in the state legislature in November and control all statewide offices.

“People’s lives, freedom, security, the water we drink, the air we breathe — they all hang in the balance,” Newsom, 51, told supporters Monday in a tent outside the state Capitol building, as he discussed his plans to address issues from homelessness to criminal justice and the environment. “The country is watching us, the world is watching us. The future depends on us, and we will seize this moment.”

Newsom unveiled his new health-care plan hours after a protester interrupted his swearing-in ceremony to protest the murder of police Cpl. Ronil Singh shortly after Christmas Day. The suspect in Singh’s killing is an illegal immigrant with several prior arrests, and Republicans have charged that so-called “sanctuary state” policies, like the ones Newsom has championed, contributed to the murder by prohibiting state police from cooperating with federal immigration officials.

As one of his first orders of business, Newsom — who also on Monday requested that the Trump administration cooperate in the state’s efforts to convert to a single-payer system, even as he bashed the White House as corrupt and immoral — declared his intent to reinstate the ObamaCare individual mandate at the state level.

The mandate forces individuals to purchase health care coverage or pay a fee that the Supreme Court described in 2012 as a “tax,” rather than a “penalty” that would have run afoul of Congress’ authority under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. Last month, though, a federal judge in Texas ruled the individual mandate no longer was a constitutional exercise of Congress’ taxing power because Republicans had passed legislation eliminating the tax entirely — a move, the judge said, that rendered the entire health-care law unworkable.

As that ruling works its way to what analysts say will be an inevitable Supreme Court showdown, Newsom said he would reimpose it in order to subsidize state health care.

Medi-Cal, the state’s health insurance program, now will let illegal immigrants remain on the rolls until they are 26, according to Newsom’s new agenda. The previous age cutoff was 19, as The Sacramento Bee reported.

Additionally, Newsom announced he would sign an executive order dramatically expanding the state’s Department of Health Care Services authority to negotiate drug prices, in the hopes of lowering prescription drug costs.
In his inaugural remarks, Newsom hinted that he intended to abandon the relative fiscal restraint that marked the most recent tenure of his predecessor, Jerry Brown, from 2011 to 2019. Brown sometimes rebuked progressive efforts to spend big on various social programs.

“For eight years, California has built a foundation of rock,” Newsom said. “Our job now is not to rest on that foundation. It is to build our house upon it.”

Newsom added that California will not have “one house for the rich and one for the poor, or one for the native-born and one for the rest.”

In a statement, the California Immigrant Policy Center backed Newsom’s agenda.

“Making sure healthcare is affordable and accessible for every Californian, including undocumented community members whom the federal government has unjustly shut out of care, is essential to reaching that vision for our future,” the organization said. “Today’s announcement is an historic step on the road toward health justice (First time I’ve heard of “health justice.” Liberals always love to distort language.) for all.”

Former editor says New York Times has lost its credibility because of anti-Trump bias

In July 2018, New York Times’ editorial board actually called on Democrats to go to war against President Trump using mafia Godfather tactics.

Now, former NYT editor Jill Abramson — the paper’s first female executive editor — says the NYT has a financial incentive to bash Trump, which is eroding the paper’s credibility.

Howard Kurtz reports for Fox News, Jan. 2, 2019, that in a soon-to-be published book, Merchants of Truth: The Business of News and the Fight for Facts, Abramson points to a “Trump bump” that saw digital subscriptions to the NYT during President Trump’s first six months in office jump by 600,000 to more than 2 million. Abramson writes:

Given its mostly liberal audience, there was an implicit financial reward for the Times in running lots of Trump stories, almost all of them negative: they drove big traffic numbers and, despite the blip of cancellations after the election, inflated subscription orders to levels no one anticipated.

The former NYT editor (2011-2014) has some harsh words for her successor, Dean Baquet. Abramson writes that “Though Baquet said publicly he didn’t want the Times to be the opposition party, his news pages were unmistakably anti-Trump.” Abramson believes the same is true of the Washington Post: “Some headlines contained raw opinion, as did some of the stories that were labeled as news analysis.”

Citing legendary 20th century publisher Adolph Ochs, Abramson writes that “the more anti-Trump the Times was perceived to be, the more it was mistrusted for being biased. Ochs’s vow to cover the news without fear or favor sounded like an impossible promise in such a polarized environment.”

Abramson attributes to the New York Times‘ anti-Trump bias also to a generational split at the newspaper, with younger staffers, many of them in digital jobs, favoring an unrestrained assault on the presidency. She writes: “The more ‘woke’ staff thought that urgent times called for urgent measures; the dangers of Trump’s presidency obviated the old standards.”

Try to be a little kinder: The hypocrisy of the left on display on Ivanka’s Instagram

I was looking through Ivanka’s Instagram account the other day and found a little bit of leftist hypocrisy (shocker, I know).

Ivanka posted a picture of her son watching a band play amongst holiday decorations with the following description: “Holiday cheer at the White House.”

A proggie by the name of @juliekimhoffman (whose account is private) replied in the following manner: “@ivankatrump hey hope you’re enjoying this holiday season with your lovely children. I can think of a couple parents who will NOT be…because their children died in the custody of CBP as a result of your dad’s ONGOING mistreatment of migrants. You and your family are a complete disgrace. #specialplaceinhellforyou”

Never mind the fact that the responsibility of the deaths of these two illegal children could be placed on their parents who dragged them through harsh traveling conditions without providing them proper sustenance and medical care.

Let’s take a look at @juliekimhoffman’s Instagram account description, shall we:

“Shall we make a new rule of life – always try to be a little kinder than is necessary.”

I’m guessing when Julie tells Ivanka that there’s a #specialplaceinhellforyou she suspended her “little kinder” rule.

Typical progressive: Do as I say, not as I do.

Big heap no surprise: Elizabeth Warren plans to run for president in 2020

Her odds of winning: 1/1024.

From NY Post: Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Monday announced her intention to run for president in 2020 as a champion of middle-class Americans and a foe of big banks and Wall Street fat cats.

Warren, who said she was creating an exploratory committee that will allow her to raise funds and hire staffers, will be among a crowded field of Democrats taking a shot at the White House.

“America’s middle class is under attack,” Warren said in a four-minute, 30-second video posted to YouTube. “How did we get here? Billionaires and big corporations decided they wanted more of the pie. And they enlisted politicians to cut them a bigger slice.”

In the video, the 69-year-old former law professor lays out her vision of the future, while setting herself up as a foil to President Trump and members of his administration.

“I’ve spent my career getting to the bottom of why America’s promise works for some families, but others who work just as hard slip through the cracks into disaster,” she says. “What I’ve found is terrifying. These aren’t cracks that families are falling into, they’re traps.”

The Republican National Committee dismissed Warren’s candidacy, saying her “out of touch” agenda poses no threat to Trump. “With her lack of support from voters – including in her home state – on top of her phony claim to minority status, now that she is formally running Americans will see her for what she is: another extreme far-left obstructionist and a total fraud,” Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement.

The president, who has announced that he will seek re-election in 2020, has trashed Warren in the past for her claims that she is partly Native American, referring to her as “Pocahontas.”

Warren in October released DNA testing results that showed there was “strong evidence” that she has Native American blood. The release was intended to quell questions about her heritage but prompted criticism from Native American leaders and left some supported puzzled why she would rekindle the controversy.

A number of Democrats are expected to announce presidential campaigns in the next few months, including former Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Kamala Harris of California, Cory Booker of New Jersey and Kirsten Gillibrand of New York.

Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke, who lost a Senate bid in November to GOP Sen. Ted Cruz, are also weighing getting in the race.

Women’s March event cancelled because organizers concerned of event being “overwhelmingly white”

This is what happens when identity politics drives your agenda.

From Fox News: Organizers of a Women’s March rally slated for Northern California next month have canceled the event, saying they were concerned that participants would have been “overwhelmingly white.”

In a news release, organizers for the march in Eureka – about 270 miles north of San Francisco – said Friday the “decision was made after many conversations between local social-change organizers and supporters of the march.”

“Up to this point, the participants have been overwhelmingly white, lacking representation from several perspectives in our community,” the news release continued.

According to Census Bureau data from July, Humboldt County, where Eureka is the county seat, is 74 percent non-Hispanic white.

“I was appalled to be honest,” Amy Sawyer Long told the Washington Times. “I understand wanting a diverse group. However, we live in a predominantly white area … not to mention how is it beneficial to cancel? No matter the race people still want their voices heard.”

The rally, which had been planned for Jan. 19, would have commemorated the third anniversary of the original Women’s March, which was held Jan. 21, 2017, the day after President Trump took office. The group said it is exploring shifting the rally to March to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The Women’s March movement has been marred by complaints from some black and Latina women, who’ve raised concerns that their input is often disregarded or overlooked, the New York Times reported.

The cancellation of the march in California follows a previous one in Chicago.

Women’s March organizers in that city cited high costs and limited volunteer hours as reasons for nixing the annual rally, the Chicago Tribune reported. “There’s no march, there’s no rally,” said Sara Kurensky, Women’s March Chicago board member. “We’re going to provide ways for people to organize and take action in their local communities.”

Meanwhile, the Women’s March national leadership has faced accusations of anti-Semitism because of ties to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. In a speech in February, Farrakhan praised a Women’s March co-President Tamika Mallory and declared “the powerful Jews are my enemy.”

Leaders of Women’s March Inc. have come under scrutiny for not condemning Farrakhan’s rhetoric fast enough. The Nation of Islam is considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Earlier this month, a Washington state chapter of the Women’s March disbanded in protest because of the national group’s links to anti-Semitism.

Marches and rallies are still planned for Jan. 19 in Washington, D.C., and dozens of other cities nationwide and internationally.

Libtard Will Ferrell’s “Holmes & Watson” movie slammed by critics; full of Trump-related humor

Don’t waste your money on these two morons…

TDS-infected Will Ferrell’s new movie is a BOMB on Rotten Tomatoes: It has a score of 2.8 out of 10. The critics’ consensus: “The lowest and vilest alleys in London do not present a more dreadful record of the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson than does Holmes and Watson.”

That’s what happens when you focus an entertainment experience on hating President Trump instead of true comedy.

From Fox News: Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s “Holmes & Watson” has been absolutely crushed by critics, with some pointing out failed attempts to mock President Trump sprinkled throughout the film.

The “Stepbrothers” duo, along with director Etan Cohen, attempted to parody Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic stories about Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick, Dr. Watson. But the film has earned “rotten status” on Rotten Tomatoes, with a stunningly low 4 percent of reviews being considered positive. The site also indicated that only 24 percent of viewers have liked the movie so far.

One of the harshest takedowns of the film was written by The Hollywood Reporter’s Frank Scheck, who noticed “a strange amount of anachronistic Donald Trump-related humor” in the film.

Scheck wrote that “Holmes & Watsonincludes “bit about fake news and red MAGA hats (here reading “Make England Great Again”) that fall utterly flat in this context,” but the lame attempts to bash Trump aren’t even the worst part of the project in the eyes of this critic.

“Numerous talented British thespians are wasted in supporting roles in this Christmas turkey that, not surprisingly, wasn’t screened in advance for critics. Although making them troop out to theaters Christmas morning is something of which even Ebenezer Scrooge wouldn’t have approved,” Scheck wrote.

The Los Angeles Times said the movie is “like a cross between a raunchy ’80s comedy and a Daffy Duck cartoon,” that messes with the classic Holmes mythology.

“One of the more zingy recurring gags has Sherlock and Watson casually offering each other heroin and cocaine, riffing on Holmes’ frequent drug use in Doyle’s stories,” LA. Times’ Noel Murray wrote before adding, “An extended dig at President Trump comes off as smug.”

While some critics didn’t appreciate the political humor and botched mythology, others simply didn’t think the movie was funny. Variety’s Peter Debruge asked, “Is it funny, for instance, to spend an entire movie watching Ferrell’s Holmes try on various hats, knowing that eventually Reilly, as Watson, is bound to steer him toward his trademark deerstalker?”

“The target audience for this movie is someone who knows that masturbation was seen as the cause of numerous physical maladies in the Victorian era, and also thinks Will Ferrell peeing his pants is hilarious,” Entertainment Weekly’s Dana Schwartz wrote.

“It’s an unexpected low point from two great actors,” Newsday’s Rafer Guzman wrote. “’Holmes & Watson’ is one of those movies that goes beyond unfunny and into a comedy-cubist zone, where jokes are no longer recognizable and laughter is philosophically impossible.”
