Pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was an informant for Robert Mueller’s FBI

Jeffrey Epstein, 66, is a billionaire and notorious pedophile who owns a private island (Little Saint James) in the Caribbean, to which he’d flown Bill Clinton (Hillary, too), Prince Andrew, and homosexual pederast actor Kevin Spacey many times, as shown by flight logs of Epstein’s private Boeing 727. The plane is nicknamed the Lolita Express, and reportedly is outfitted with a bed where passengers had group sex with young girls.

See “Flight logs show Bill Clinton flew on sex offender’s jet much more than previously known” and “Source: FBI has evidence Hillary visited ‘Orgy Island’

In the case of Bill Clinton, flight records show he’d flown on Epstein’s plane at least 26 times.

Donald Trump also has ties to Epstein. As reported by The Daily Wire:

  • Trump called Epstein a “terrific guy” and “a lot of fun to be with” who “likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.” (New York Magazine)
  • Trump was in Epstein’s “little black book,” which was stolen by a former employee in 2004. The book listed “14 phone numbers including emergency numbers, car numbers, and numbers to Trump’s security guard and houseman.”
  • Jeffrey Epstein’s brother, Mark, testified in 2009 that Trump flew on Jeffrey’s private jet at least once. Message pads seized from Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion indicate that Trump called Epstein twice in November of 2004. (Vice)
  • In 2010, while under oath, Epstein admitted to “socializing” with Trump, but pled the fifth to Trump attending sex parties with underage girls. (Vice)
  • In April 2016, a woman in California, “Katie Johnson”, filed a $100 million lawsuit against Trump, accusing him of raping her more than 20 years ago when she was just 13 years old and threatening to harm her and her family.” The lawsuit also names Epstein for alleged sexual misconduct and threats. (Independent) The lawsuit was dismissed over technical filing errors (the address listed in court documents was a foreclosed home that has been vacant since its owner died), with the plaintiff failing in her attempt to avoid incurring the cost of the litigation. (Radar Online) “Johnson” filed a second lawsuit, which she also dropped after failing to show up at a press conference, claiming threats to her life.

For his part, through his attorney Alan Garten, Trump said he has “no relationship” with Epstein other than Epstein having frequented Trump’s Mar-A-Lago in Miami. Garten said: “A lot of people hung out there, including Jeffrey Epstein. That is the only connection.” (Daily Wire)

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to a middle class Jewish family, Epstein somehow managed to become a billionaire. He worked as an options trader at Bear Stearns early in his career and then formed his own financial management firm, J. Epstein & Co., managing the assets of clients with more than $1 billion in net worth.

The FBI received accounts from about 40 under age girls who said they had been molested by Epstein. Despite this, in June 2008, the government agreed to allow Epstein to plead guilty to just one count of soliciting prostitution from an underage girl under Florida state law, for which he served 13 months in prison. He is a registered sex offender.

While in jail, Epstein received liberal work release privileges that required him to spend little time in a cell. Six days a week, he was picked up at the jail by his private driver and driven to an office in downtown West Palm Beach, where he spent up to 12 hours a day greeting friends, lawyers and several young women who were named by federal prosecutors as participants in his sex trafficking scheme.

Julie K. Brown reports for The Miami Herald, Feb. 7, 2019, that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has reportedly opened an investigation into the conduct of DOJ attorneys in the case, and whether they committed “professional misconduct” in their working relationship with Epstein’s attorneys.

The probe was opened in response to a request lodged by Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who raised questions about the case after reading the Miami Herald‘s 3-part series on how then-US attorney for the Southern District of Florida Alexander Acosta, 50, whom President Trump appointed secretary of labor, and other DOJ attorneys worked with defense attorneys to cut a lenient plea deal for Epstein back in 2008.

Reporting for The Miami Herald, Julie Brown writes:

Epstein, 66, could have faced a possible life sentence for sex trafficking, but instead was secretly granted federal immunity, along with others who were part of the conspiracy, some of whom were named, others not.

Epstein was suspected by the FBI of running an international sex trafficking operation involving minors, and federal prosecutors had drafted a 53-page indictment that was shelved after Acosta signed off on a non-prosecution agreement in September 2007.

The reason for Jeffrey Epstein being secretly granted federal immunity? — He was an informant for the FBI, the director of which at the time is none other than Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller. Mueller, 74, was Director of the FBI from September 2001 to September 2013.

As Julie Brown reported on November 28, 2018:

The Herald learned that, as part of the plea deal, Epstein provided what the government called “valuable consideration” for unspecified information he supplied to federal investigators. While the documents obtained by the Herald don’t detail what the information was, Epstein’s sex crime case happened just as the country’s subprime mortgage market collapsed, ushering in the 2008 global financial crisis.

Records show that Epstein was a key federal witness in the criminal prosecution of two prominent executives with Bear Stearns, the global investment brokerage that failed in 2008, who were accused of corporate securities fraud. Epstein was one of the largest investors in the hedge fund managed by the executives, who were later acquitted. It is not known what role, if any, the case played in Epstein’s plea negotiations.

Trafficker of child sex-slaves admits to killing hundreds of children

Ross Kemp, 54, is an English actor, author and investigative journalist who has received international recognition as a journalist for the BAFTA Award-winning documentary series Ross Kemp on Gangs on modern gang culture in the UK and around the world. He followed this up with the documentaries Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, Ross Kemp in Search of Pirates, Ross Kemp: Battle for the Amazon and Ross Kemp: Extreme World.

In this video from his Extreme World documentary, Kemp tracked down and interviewed Mr. Kahn, a child trafficker in India who is being investigated for over 25 different offenses.

Kahn says he has been trafficking for 7 years, and that he has “trafficked” 3,000 or 4,000 young girls, “maybe more”. He goes to poor communities, often in Muslim or “tribal” areas, and looks for “real beauties”. The girls are auctioned and go to the highest bidder. The most Kahn got for a sale was a million taka, the currency of Bangladesh — the equivalent of £8,500 or US$10,935.

Kemp asks if it’s true that Kahn has sold girls as young as nine for sex, to which the man replies, “I’ve sold girls who are 12.”

Kemp then asks if Kahn had ever returned any of the children to their communities, to which Kahn replies, “No”.

Kemp asks a follow-up question if it’s true that Kahn kills the children that he can’t sell. Kahn replies:

If they try to run away, or if there’s any trouble selling them, they are killed and buried. If our bribed police can’t handle it, it goes to the CID, then we kill the girls. We don’t count them. About four or five hundred. I’m telling you the truth.”

Speaking about the encounter afterward, Kemp said he had to fight back the tears and was “shocked” and “horrified” by what Kahn told him: “Interviewing a guy who admits to killing 400 to 500 kids but doesn’t know exactly how many – that did make me cry.”

Anti-Trump video-gamer Thomas Cheung arrested in Super Bowl pedophile sting

It. Never. Fails

The loudest anti-Trumpers have foul deeds to conceal that must not see the light of day.

The latest example is Thomas Cheung, 32, a Twitch partner and Hi-Rez Studios community manager.

Note: Twitch.tv is a live streaming video platform owned by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary of Amazon. Hi-Rez Studios is a privately-held video game developer based in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Cheung (@Elvinelol) is notable for spewing anti-Trump tweets:

“Can we just put a muzzle on Trump when it’s not his turn to speak please? Maybe a shock collar?”

“He’s such an idiot.”

“Absolutely disgusted with our country/government.” — on Supreme Court’s Jan. 22, 2019 ruling to allow Trump administration to bar transgenders from the military. (Arhived here)

“This is disgusting! Absolutely no respect.” — on the (fake) story of the Covington Catholic school boys.

Variety reports that on January 31, 2019, Hi-Rez Studios community manager and Twitch Partner Thomas Cheung was arrested during a Super Bowl sex trafficking sting near Atlanta that targeted men traveling to the area to have sex with a child, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.

Cheung was arrested and charged with using a computer service to seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child to commit an illegal act, according to Dekalb County Jail records. Additional charges may be forthcoming.

Cheung was one of 21 people arrested over a five-day period beginning Jan. 30 as a result of an undercover investigation, Operation Intercept, coordinated by the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit, Brookhaven Police Department, DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office, and United States Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

“Operation Interception” was centered in Brookhaven, Georgia and took place over several months. Most of those arrested, men ranging in age from 20 to 55, traveled from other areas to Brookhaven to meet with a child to have sex.  Those arrested were charged with Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act of 2007 and/or Trafficking of Persons for Labor or Sexual Servitude.

During Operation Intercept, the ICAC task force went undercover online using sites that the sex industry advertises in. Over the course of the sting, some of those arrested had sexually explicit conversations with people they believed to be a child and most of those arrested traveled to meet a child for sex. Investigators had close to 200 exchanges with subjects on various social media or internet platforms. Many of those were exchanges in which the subject initiated contact and even after discovering they were conversing with a minor, directed the conversation towards sex. In some of those cases, the subject introduced obscene or lude content, often exposing the minor — who was actually a law enforcement officer — to pornography or requesting the child take nude or pornographic images for them.

Stew Chisam, CEO and president of Hi-Rez Studios, told Variety in a statement:

On Monday, February 4th, we learned through local news that Thomas Cheung was arrested in an operation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. At this point, we know only what has been reported in the local news and by local law enforcement, and cannot comment on specifics of Mr. Cheung’s case, other than to say that, as of today, Mr. Cheung is no longer employed by Hi-Rez Studios. As a parent, it is difficult to imagine more disturbing allegations than those laid out in the news reports. We commend the efforts of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations and other law enforcement to protect our state’s children and to send a strong message that the behavior targeted in their Operation Interception will not be tolerated in Georgia.

For the names and identities of the other 20 pedophiles who were arrested in Operation Intercept, go to Variety.

Americans’ regard for religious clergy’s honesty and ethics at all-time low

No surprise there, given the recent and ongoing news about pedophile priests (even cardinals), and their enabling superiors.

Gallup has measured the public’s views of the honesty and ethical standards of a variety of occupations since 1976.

Before 1999, clergy members were frequently the most-highly rated professions for their ethics, but no more.

Megan Brenan writes for Gallup, Dec. 20, 2018, that Gallup has measured Americans’ views of the clergy’s honesty and ethics 34 times beginning in 1977. The high point was in 1985 when 67% of Americans rated the clergy very highly or highly.

This year, however, only 37% gave very high/high ratings on the clergy’s honesty and ethical standards — the lowest to date.

Positive views of the honesty and ethics of the clergy dropped in 2002 amid the first sexual abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic Church. Although positive ratings rebounded somewhat in the next few years, they fell to 50% in 2009 and have been steadily declining since 2012.

The latest low ratings of the clergy come on the heels of more investigations into child sex abuse by Catholic priests in the U.S. Currently, only 31% of Catholics and 48% of Protestants rate the clergy positively.

Here’s how other professions are regarded in Gallup’s recent poll (Dec. 3-12, 2018):

  • Nurses are the most well-regarded: More than 4 in 5 Americans (84%) rate the honesty and ethical standards of nurses as “very high” or “high,” earning them the top spot for the 17th consecutive year.
  • Four other professions are also rated as having “high” or “very high” honesty and ethical standards: medical doctors (67%), pharmacists (66%), high school teachers (60%) and police officers (54%).
  • 12 occupations receive “average” ratings of 42% to 54% for their honesty and ethical standards. Among them are real estate agents (54%) and lawyers (51%).
  • Members of Congress are again held in the lowest esteem, worse than car salespeople and telemarketers. Nearly 58% of Americans rate their representatives in Congress as having “low” or “very low” ethical standards.
  • Incredibly, journalists are doing better: their 33% very high/high rating matches their record high in 1977 and is a 10 percentage point increase from two years ago in December 2016, when 41% of Americans held a negative opinion of their ethics. The rebounding of journalists is largely due to Democrats — yet another example of how Democrats and Republicans view reality very differently:
    • 54% of Democrats gave very high/high ratings on journalists’ honesty, a 21-point increase since 2016.
    • Among political independents, roughly one-third each say journalists have high, average and low ethics.
    • Republicans‘ views are unchanged, with 61% giving journalists low ethics ratings.

84 y.o. Berkeley pediatrician sexually preyed on young boys

The Mayo Clinic says “It’s natural for men to notice a gradual decrease in sex drive (libido) as they age.”

But not for pedophiles and pederasts, like 84-year-old Berkeley pediatrician Bayard Allmond, M.D.

http://berkeleyheritage.com/gallery/benvenue_tour2008.8.html

California News Wire Services reports that on November 8, 2018, Dr. Bayard Allmond, an 84-year-old Berkeley pediatrician with 54 years of experience, pleaded no contest ahead of a scheduled January 2 sentencing for his conviction on a felony count of sending harmful matter to a teenage boy with sexual intent.

In exchange, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office agreed to:

  • Dismiss three other counts involving the boy: misdemeanor child molestation, felony sexual battery for false professional purposes, and misdemeanor sexual exploitation of a patient.
  • Three years’ probation for Allmond, and the surrender of his medical license and abandoning his practice.

Allmond was arrested on Dec. 14, 2017, at his Berkeley home on Hillcrest Drive where he also has his medical practice.

Three of the charges against Allmond stem from alleged actions in 2016, when Allmond was 82 years old. Berkeley police Officer Darren Kacalek wrote in a probable cause statement that the boy told police that, beginning when he was 16, he made visits to Allmond to receive therapy for anxiety and panic. The boy told investigators that three or four months into the therapy sessions, Allmond began showing him explicit photos of men masturbating and later used images and pornographic videos to show him how sex is performed between men.

Officer Kacalek wrote that when Allmond was arrested on Dec. 14, 2017, he “admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the victim inside his office,” that “what he did was wrong,” that he showed poor judgment, and that “he regretted the incident.”

Allmond’s lawyer, Paul Wolf, says the criminal complaint against Allmond contains “provocative allegations,” many of which “cannot be proven and are not true.” Wolf calls Allmond “an 84-year-old man who has an extraordinary reputation and is generally loved and admired professionally,” who “has worked well with hundreds of patients,” and whose behavior with the teenage boy was “aberrant.”

Court records indicate that the victim’s family isn’t happy with the way Allmond’s case was resolved.

I hope the boy’s family bring a civil suit against Bayard Allmond.

Update (Jan. 4, 2019)

The victim, now a 20-year-old college student, had agreed to Allmond’s plea deal because he didn’t want his parents and the public to find out about what happened.

Recently, however, his parents found out about the case because the victim and his father share the same name and the father inadvertently opened a letter about the case that probation officials sent to the family’s home.

The upshot: A family discussion took place and the victim is now free from shame and wants jail time for Allmond. The victim, who is suffering from PTSD, asks to postpone Allmond’s sentencing until Feb. 15, at which time the victim will come to court to make his case. (Source)

Woody Allen, 41, raped 16-year-old girl

I stopped watching Woody Allen movies years ago, after his girlfriend of 12 years, Mia Farrow — with whom he had a biological child, Ronan, and adopted two others — discovered evidence of Allen (then 56) screwing her 22-year-old adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn. Allen never expressed regret or remorse about his conduct, which a judge called “grossly inappropriate.”

Ronan Farrow said about Allen, 83: “He’s my father married to my sister. That makes me his son and his brother-in-law. That is such a moral transgression.”

In 2010, Allen told the Spanish-language magazine La Vanguardia: It would be good…if (Obama) could be dictator for a few years because he could do a lot of good things quickly. I am pleased with Obama. I think he is brilliant. The Republican Party should get out of his way and stop trying to hurt him.”

In 1992, Mia accused Allen of sexually molesting 7-year-old Dylan Farrow, Mia’s adopted daughter whom Allen had legally adopted as his own. In retaliation, Allen sued for full custody of Ronan and two of Farrow’s adopted children, Dylan and Moses, with whom Allen had assumed a parental role.

Dr. John Leventhal, the lead doctor of Yale–New Haven Hospital Child Sexual Abuse Clinic’s investigation into the sex-abuse allegations who did not meet with Dylan but used only interviews conducted by others, testified in a sworn deposition that, in his opinion, Dylan “either invented the story under the stress of living in a volatile and unhealthy home or that it was planted in her mind by her mother”.

In June 1993, the presiding judge, Elliott Wilk, rejected Allen’s bid for full custody and denied him visitation rights with Dylan because Allen’s behavior toward Dylan was “grossly inappropriate” and “measures must be taken to protect her”. (Wikipedia)

Dylan Farrow has consistently and persistently maintained that Allen indeed sexually molested her.

On February 1, 2014, in an open letter in the New York Times, Dylan, who is now married and living in Florida under a different name, wrote:

For as long as I could remember, my father had been doing things to me that I didn’t like. I didn’t like how often he would take me away from my mom, siblings and friends to be alone with him. I didn’t like it when he would stick his thumb in my mouth. I didn’t like it when I had to get in bed with him under the sheets when he was in his underwear. I didn’t like it when he would place his head in my naked lap and breathe in and breathe out. I would hide under beds or lock myself in the bathroom to avoid these encounters, but he always found me….

Woody Allen was never convicted of any crime. That he got away with what he did to me haunted me as I grew up. I was stricken with guilt that I had allowed him to be near other little girls. I was terrified of being touched by men. I developed an eating disorder. I began cutting myself. That torment was made worse by Hollywood. All but a precious few (my heroes) turned a blind eye. Most found it easier to…pretend that nothing was wrong. Actors praised him at awards shows. Networks put him on TV. Critics put him in magazines.

Now, Dylan is corroborated by another underage victim of Woody Allen, Babi Christina Engelhardt.

Gary Baum reports for The Hollywood Reporter, Dec. 17, 2018, that in October 1976, blonde, emerald-eyed aspiring model Engelhardt, 16, caught 41-year-old Woody Allen’s eye at New York City power restaurant Elaine’s.

Allen invited Engelhardt to his Fifth Avenue penthouse. He never asked her age, but she told him she was still in high school, living with her family in rural New Jersey. Within weeks, they’d become physically intimate at his place. She wouldn’t turn 17, legal in New York, until that December.

Sex with an underage girl is statutory rape.

Two of Engelhardt’s close friends from the period affirm they were aware of Engelhardt’s relationship with Allen at the time — one would even drop her off at his penthouse. Photographer Andrew Unangst, who was dining with her at Elaine’s the night she made her move on Allen, also says he knew about the long-running tryst. Engelhardt’s younger brother Mike remembers Allen calling their parents’ home: “I’d holler out, ‘Babi, it’s Woody!’ My brain didn’t think something romantic; I was 11 or 12 and a huge fan.”

Engelhardt has written an unpublished memoir of her time with Allen, in which she portrays a relationship of unequals. From their first rendezvous, terms were decreed by Allen. They could only meet at his place. By her count, on more than 100 subsequent occasions, she’d visit him at his apartment at 930 Fifth Ave., where she’d invariably make her way to an upstairs bedroom facing Central Park.

About a year into the relationship, Allen occasionally began bringing in two other “beautiful young ladies” for threesomes. After they’d been “sleeping together” for four years, Allen beamingly announced that he wanted to introduce her to his new “girlfriend” — Mia Farrow. What followed was a “handful” of three-way sex sessions at Allen’s penthouse, where the three smoked joints and bonded over a shared fondness for animals. Engelhardt writes in her memoir:

There were times the three of us were together, and it was actually great fun…. It wasn’t until after it was done when I really had time to think of how twisted it was when we were together … and how I was little more than a plaything. While we were together, the whole thing was a game that was being operated solely by Woody so we never quite knew where we stood…. I used to think this was a form of mother-father with the two of them. To me, that whole relationship was very Freudian: how I admired them, how he’d already broken me in, how I let that be all right.

Engelhardt last heard from Allen in January 2001, when he sent her a letter thanking her for sending him a copy of a documentary she’d appeared in about the making of The Voice of the Moon, Fellini’s final film. Below is the letter:

Even with hindsight, though, Engelhardt is unwilling to indict Allen, who declined to comment for this story. She considered him then, and still considers him now, a Great Man. She said: “I’m not attacking Woody. This is not ‘bring down this man.’ I’m talking about my love story. This made me who I am. I have no regrets.”

Engelhardt and Dylan Farrow are not Woody Allen’s only victims.

On September 25 2018, Crazy Days and Nights published this blind item revealed:

If you are ever thinking of taking the child molester’s side because you want him to be able to work steadily or something, or don’t believe the victims, take a look at this from a mom who had a daughter working on one of his films. She enclosed a picture of how he had her dress on set from the actual set, but it is creepy and I don’t want her recognized.

I let my daughter work on ____________. She had done Broadway but this was her first feature, and it was literally just a feature background role. Non speaking. The child molester invited my daughter to eat lunch with him. She was 7 at the time. I’ve been on MANY sets. I have NEVER seen a director ask a background actor to lunch, let alone a child.

Cafe Society/Woody Allen

After years of looking the other way, it appears Hollywood is finally ostracizing Woody Allen:

  • In October 2017, the red carpet premiere for Allen’s Amazon Studios release Wonder Wheel was canceled. Amazon has also cut off financing for Allen’s next movie.
  • n January 2018, the entertainment section of Canada’s largest newspaper, The (Toronto) Star, ran an AP article detailing how many in the movie business regret having worked with Woody Allen, and having given him a pass.
  • In January 2018, two stars of Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York — Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Hall (who previously had appeared in Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona) — apologized for working on it and donated their salaries to anti-harassment organizations.
  • A Rainy Day in New York, originally expected to debut this year, is still without a release date.

Boy Scouts of America is bankrupt

Another longtime American institution lost to pedophiles and the Left’s political correctness.

Founded in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is one of the largest Scouting organizations and youth organizations in the United States. Boys are trained in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and, at older age levels, career-oriented programs in partnership with community organizations. More than 110 million Americans have been participants in BSA programs at some time.

In recent years, BSA has been mired in controversy over the admission of LGBTs as scouts or adult leaders. On January 1, 2014, after major businesses like Intel, UPS and Merch severed their financial ties with the BSA over its decision to retain its policy prohibiting LGBT scouts and adults, BSA changed its policy. Henceforth, LGBTs are allowed, but any sexual conduct, whether heterosexual or homosexual, is not allowed. That, in turn, alienated some churches and conservative members who left the BSA for a new Christian scouting group, Trail Life USA.

Max Jaeger reports for the New York Post that sources told The Wall Street Journal that the Boy Scouts of America has hired Chicago law firm Sidley Austin for help in a potential Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.

On December 12, 2018, BSA sent a letter to its employees that it plans to “explore all options available to ensure that the local and national programming of the Boy Scouts of America continues uninterrupted.”

BSA is overcome by an avalanche of problems, including:

  1. A precipitous drop in membership of as many as two-thirds of its members — some 4 million boys — since the 1970s. In the last two years alone, the Mormon Church — BSA’s first partner — where scout membership had long been considered a rite of passage, pulled 610,000 scouts.
  2. Dozens of sex abuse lawsuits, stemming from hundreds of claims of abuse in the ‘70s and ‘80s, including one filed by four former scouts who claim they were molested by scoutmaster Waldron Ackerman between 1974 and 1976. The plaintiffs claim that BSA was aware that scouting had become a “pedophile magnet” but didn’t take appropriate action to prevent abuse from occurring. Last year alone, BSA paid $7.6 million to an outside law firm to help fight its legal battles.
  3. A lawsuit by the Girl Scouts this November for trademark infringement and dilution after the Boy Scouts of America dropped “Boy” from its name to rebrand as just “Scouts” in its quest expand recruitment to girls and “transgenders”.

Iowa diocese protects priest who stripped naked in a mall and threatened to rape female parishioner

On November 28, 2018, five years after one of its priests was arrested for stripping naked in a mall and threatening to rape a female parishioner, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sioux City, Iowa finally acknowledged the incident in a statement.

More than that, Ryan J. Foley reports for the AP that the diocese defended its decision to continue employing the priest, Rev. Jeremy Wind, calling the 2013 “incident” a “mental health episode” from which he’d recovered with the help of medication and treatment. The diocese gave no details about what occurred and told parishioners the scrutiny was unfortunate and unnecessary because “there is nothing newsworthy to report.”

The diocese’s acknowledgment of the incident came in response to inquiries from The Associated Press, which used the state’s open records law to shed light on Wind’s criminal case that was recently erased from public court files. All records related to the case disappeared from the Iowa courts online database this year, after Wind was transferred to the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City.

According to police reports, in December 2013, Wind, 39, was meeting with a female parishioner at a bakery when he began behaving erratically. He had just celebrated Mass at Christ the King church in Sioux Center, a town of 7,000 people in northwest Iowa.

According to the woman’s statement to the police, Wind told her he was going to masturbate, and took off his pants. She ran and lock herself in her car. But Wind chased her to her car, yelled about raping her, and pounded on the vehicle’s window.

The woman said: “I was so horrified, I thought what am I going to do? I sat for awhile because I didn’t want to hurt him. When he started banging so hard that I thought he was going to break the window, I drove away.”

A Sioux Center police officer found Wind at the nearby Centre Mall. Wind said he had no pants on because he “wanted to rape her” and said he also wanted to rape the officer. Wind ripped off the officer’s name tag, punched the officer, and was handcuffed on the ground as a deputy pointed a Taser at him.

Wind was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct in a criminal complaint that didn’t mention the woman or his statements about rape. Under a September 2014 plea bargain that said Wind was “experiencing mania along with psychosis which prevented him from understanding his conduct at that time” of the incident, he received a deferred judgment, paid a $200 fine and was put on “informal probation” for one year.

The diocese said in its statement that Wind received counseling and medical treatment for mental illness, is on medication, follows “a lifestyle regimen that enables him to function without problems,” and “has since provided exemplary spiritual and priestly care to his parishioners.”

Wind’s assault and arrest is not the first time that the Sioux City diocese has come under public scrutiny.

A month ago, on October 31, 2018, only after The Associated Press made inquiries, the diocese acknowledged it had kept quiet a priest’s admission 32 years ago to sexually abusing some 50 boys — a silence that may have put other boys in danger.

According to a private letter written in February by the diocese vicar general and obtained by the AP, in 1986, Rev. Jerome Coyle reported to Sioux City’s bishop that he had victimized approximately 50 boys over a 20-year period while serving in several Iowa parishes.

Coyle, now 85, was stripped of his parish assignments in the 1980s but never defrocked. The diocese recently helped him move into a retirement home in Fort Dodge, Iowa, without informing administrators at the Catholic school across the street.
