Your Monday funny…

OK, even I laughed at this. And I’m facing a similar situation as my military boyfriend (finally stateside!) is in self-quarantine. We are communicating by phone while he sits in the car on the street and me on the front porch. At least we can see each other 🙂

A tweet joke from The General:

“A week into isolation it’s upsetting for me to see my wife at the living room window staring aimlessly into space w/tears running down her cheeks. It breaks my heart to see her this way. I’ve thought of how I can cheer her up so I’ve considered letting her in but rules are rules.”

Suicides outpacing Wuhan virus deaths in Knox County, Tennessee

This will come as no surprise, except maybe to the bureaucrats and “experts.”

Shutting down one’s livelihood and the economic machine that drives EVERYTHING for EVERYONE has consequences. A severe economic depression is about to hit this country due to governments shutting everything down to try and “save” all of us.

The reality of a “shelter in place” has already started in Tennessee. 10News reports the following: “Knox Co. seeing an increase in suspected suicides during coronavirus pandemic.”

The byline: “Mayor Glenn Jacobs said he was shocked and it made him wonder if they were handling this the right way.”

Some details from the article:

Knox County is seeing a disturbing trend in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Mayor Glenn Jacobs said on Friday that the Regional Forensic Center examined nine suspected suicide cases – eight of which are from within Knox County – in the past 48 hours alone.

That’s 10 percent of the total number of suicides from all of last year, when there were 199 confirmed or suspected suicides from across the region and 83 in Knox County.

“That number is completely shocking and makes me wonder if what we are doing now is really the best approach,” Mayor Jacobs said. “We have to determine how we can respond to COVID-19 in a way that keeps our economy intact, keeps people employed and empowers them with a feeling of hope and optimism – not desperation and despair.”

The director of the Knox County Health Department was visually emotional at the daily press conference Friday as she spoke about these sobering numbers.

“Now, more than ever, we need to be kinder and gentler with ourselves and with each other,” Dr. Martha Buchanan said. “If you are struggling, I encourage you to reach out. Reach out to your pastor, a friend, call the hotlines.”

She said she knows the decisions Knox County leaders have made to stop the spread of the coronavirus are hard, and the people who have made the decisions are struggling with that. But she emphasized these are the decisions that will keep people safe and stop the spread of coronavirus.

I’m no economic genius, unlike Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, yet anyone with a functioning brain could have told you that shutting down our economic machine would and WILL have a major impact on the health of millions of Americans.

Yet we are to assume that this shutdown, according to the bureaucrats, will “keep people safe.”

“Safe” while unemployed, broke and unable to pay your mortgage/rent and bills or feed your family is not a way to go through life.

I leave you with the words from this tweet I read:

Everyone making decisions about every American’s earning power, job and business has a fat, full-time, guaranteed, salaried paycheck and they’ll get paid no matter what. They are CLUELESS about the consequences of a shut-down for average Americans. Worse, they don’t give a damn.”

WHO is incompetent by design?

As you know, the World Health Organization (WHO) is an agency of the useless United Nations. Completely useless, both of them in my opinion.

China has LIED to WHO and they, in turn, have LIED to the world:

I’ve seen many theories online as to how China controls WHO. See an example on Twitchy here.

Make no doubt about it: China OWNS this worldwide pandemic. Yet they are given a pass by WHO and the demorat-run U.S. media. All because OrangeManBad.

Shameful and tragic. And SHAME ON WHO.

If there’s any justice, China MUST PAY for lying to all of us, by design.

Is Covid-19 man made and released from a Wuhan lab? Evidence of genome editing

I’ve been seeing a lot of the same story being told by various media outlets.  All  pushing the same  narrative, “scientists confirm Covid19 is not a manmade bioweapon”.  It’s only fair that I show the other side of the argument.

There is a scientist that says covid-19 is man made and was released from Wuhan lab.  The story was first published on March 2. 2020.

A Taiwanese scientist has claimed Chinese microbiologists probably created coronavirus in Wuhan, China.

Based on the virus unusual structure it is most likely “man made” and there is a theory coronavirus was somehow leaked or released from the Institute of Virology in Wuhan China, said Professor Fang Chi-tai from the National Taiwan University (NTU).

Professor Fang said China’s track record with safety standards and laboratory management has been questioned in the past.

The Professor claims it was very possible that the Wuhan Chinese scientists created the deadly virus by simply adding four amino acids to an existing bat virus, which therefore makes it much easier to transmit to people.

Professor Fang added, “The mutations found in the novel coronavirus are unusual in an academic sense.

“It is indeed possible that it is a man-made product.

“From an academic point of view, it is indeed possible that the amino acids were added to COVID-19 in the lab by humans.”

I should point out that Wuhan has the Wuhan Institute of Virology. It’s a level 4 laboratory that was used to store, handle and research samples of SARS, Ebola and other deadly infectious viruses. Fang mentioned the possibility of the virus being leaked from there due to gross mismanagement.  Fang also said,

Analyses of the Covid-19 virus have shown that it had a 96% genetic similarity with an RaTG13 bat virus also stored at the institute, and that the Covid-19 could be “manufactured” by modifying the RaTG13 virus.

French researchers had discovered four more amino acids in the gene sequence of Covid-19 than other known coronaviruses, which could be added artificially to make the viral transmission easier.

The following was also mentioned,

In February Chinese scientist announced the true cause of the spread of coronavirus, who broke cover and said the oubreak started in a science laboratory in Wuhan yards away from a wet market.

A scientist told how a sick bat attacked the researchers and bled on them and urinated on another, they were then forced to quarantine themselves for 14 days.

Biologists Botao Xiao and Lei Xiao published a pre-print entitled “The possible origins of 2019-nCoV coronavirus.”

The report describes how “the killer coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory in Wuhan.

“We noted two laboratories conducting research on bat coronavirus in Wuhan, one of which was only 280 metres from the seafood market.

“We briefly examined the histories of the laboratories and proposed that the coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory.

Evidence for RNA editing in the transcriptome of 2019 Novel Coronavirus

For additional evidence of human influence in  the Coronavirus, I’ve provided a link to a PDF file titled  “Evidence for RNA editing in the transcriptome of 2019 Novel Coronavirus”.

It comes from bioRxiv.  You won’t hear anything about this in main stream news.  I’ve seen 1 article and it was an attempt to debunk the discovery by accusing the scientists of running a “shabby operation”.   Still, the critic never said the discovery was inaccurate.

The 2019-nCoV outbreak has become a global health risk. Editing by host deaminases is an innate
15 restriction process to counter viruses, and it is not yet known whether it operates against
coronaviruses. Here we analyze RNA sequences from bronchoalveolar lavage fluids derived from
two Wuhan patients. We identify nucleotide changes that may be signatures of RNA editing:
Adenosine-to-Inosine changes from ADAR deaminases and Cytosine-to-Uracil changes from
APOBEC ones. A mutational analysis of genomes from different strains of human-hosted
Coronaviridae reveals patterns similar to the RNA editing pattern observed in the 2019-nCoV
transcriptomes. Our results suggest that both APOBECs and ADARs are involved in Coronavirus
genome editing, a process that may shape the fate of both virus and patient.

The scientist behind this discovery are Salvatore Di Giorgio, Filippo Martignano, Maria Gabriella Torcia, Giorgio Mattiuz, Silvestro G. Conticello.

WTF? – New 2020 U.S. quarter (coin) has a bat on it

We are told that the Wuhan coronavirus, aka SARS-CoV-2, which causes the COVID-19 respiratory disease originated from bats that were sold (and consumed) in live-animal markets in Wuhan, China.

Note: COVID-19 is the abbreviation for corona virus disease 2019.

So it is most curious that, just by coincidence, a new 2020 quarter issued by the U.S. Mint has a bat on the coin’s reverse side.

Sarah Brookbank reports for the Cincinnati Enquirer, Jan. 10, 2020:

The quarter is part of the United States Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters Program, which honors national parks and other national sites across the United States….

So why a bat?

This quarter honors the National Park of American Samoa. The park is the only one in the U.S. that is home to the Samoan fruit bat, according to the U.S. Mint.

“The reverse (tails) design depicts a Samoan fruit bat mother hanging in a tree with her pup. The image evokes the remarkable care and energy that this species puts into their offspring,” the U.S. Mint said. “The design is intended to promote awareness to the species’ threatened status due to habitat loss and commercial hunting.”

According to a new study, however, snakes instead of bats might be the origin of the Wuhan virus.

According to the study, “New coronavirus may have ‘jumped’ to humans from snakes, study finds,” which was published on Jan. 22, 2020, in the Journal of Medical Virology, the genetic sequence of 2019-nCoV was analyzed to look for patterns in the genetic code that may reveal the host that the virus infects. Based on this analysis, the researchers concluded that 2019-nCoV may have come from snakes. Snakes, like bats, were among the animals sold at the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan, where many initial cases of COVID-19 worked or visited before they became ill.

The U.S. Wuhan virus models have been way off target

Sean Davis from The Federalist tweeted some very interesting stuff yesterday morning about the Wuhan virus models and the expected impact on our country. And what do you know, the models were not that accurate. But the panic WAS real.

Here’s his tweet thread of actual statistics:

State and local governments are being panicked into horrific decision-making by garbage models that have already been proven to be wildly wrong. Here’s what Covid Act Now predicted for TN by March 19: 190 hospitalizations. There were actually 15.

“Covid Act Now claimed nearly 5,400 New Yorkers would’ve been hospitalized by March 19. The real number? Approximately 750. They claimed nearly 13,000 hospitalizations by March 23. The actual number was around 2,500.

“Covid Act Now predicted that Georgia would have 688 hospitalizations by March 23. The state only had 800 total confirmed cases.

“In Florida, Covid Act Now predicted over 400 hospitalizations as of March 19. According to the governor, that number was 90.

“Covid Act Now predicted that 127 people in Oklahoma would be hospitalized by March 23 because of the Wuhan virus. As of yesterday, the entire state only had 81 confirmed cases.

“According to Covid Act Now, Virginia was supposed to have hospitalized 342 Wuhan virus sufferers by March 23. As of an hour ago, there were 290 confirmed cases in the entire state, of which 45 were hospitalized. Starting to discern a pattern yet with these apocalyptic models?”

Here in our small town in Oklahoma, one of the hospitals has a drive-through testing set up for those who have symptoms of a high fever and cough. The first day there was a line of cars, from the picture I saw in the news. Since then, I’ve driven by it several times and have not seen ONE car in line.

Great job, “experts.”

Backdoor gun grab/control via “emergency orders”

Every gun-grabber’s dream: Use the Wuhan virus as an excuse to suspend your Second Amendment rights. See the following examples:

Los Angeles: “LA County Sheriff tells me he is beginning to close county gun stores immediately. Deputies are currently going to the stores one by one to order them shut down. Sheriff to utilize scofflaw violations for any gun store still open after he deemed them nonessential.

The Sheriff told me he is a gun owner himself, supports 2nd amendment, but believes too many first time buyers are panicking and bringing guns into homes where people are locked down, which he believes is recipe for disaster with potential accidental shootings.”

(The stores in Burbank are going to remain open because they facilitate security needs. They were ordered to close on Saturday, but the city revised it today.)

Pennsylvania: “Big news: PA Governor Tom Wolf has issued new guidelines that will allow gun stores to remain open across the state, as long as they follow specific social distancing mandates.

The governor’s order is very close to the ideas offered up by three state Supreme Court justices in their dissenting opinion in a suit challenging the governor’s original declaration about “essential” businesses.

Stores will be allowed to operate by appointment only, with undefined “limited” hours, so it’s not perfect. It’s better, and I hope it can be continued to be improved to ensure Pennsylvanians access to their rights.”

North Carolina: “Wake County Sheriff’s Office just suspended ALL pistol permit applications due to “unprecedented demand for weapons.” They will not reopen applications in Wake county until APRIL 30th. They say they’ve seen a 250% increase in demand.”

New Jersey: “New Jersey governor Phil Murphy has ordered all gun stores in the state to remain closed during the declared state of emergency over the coronavirus.”

Apparently gun-grabbers believe gun stores are “non essential” businesses and that an “increase in demand” means they can suspend your rights. Figures.

And this is WHY we need the Second Amendment to protect ourselves (posted at 9:19 last night): “Police in Yakima, Washington now say they DO NOT KNOW how many inmates have escaped local jail, witnesses report at least 20.”

All but eight are “unaccounted for.”

Watch the video of the inmates (obviously not yet fully processed as they are still in civilian clothing?) escaping here.

Some random thoughts about the rush to shutdown so many businesses in this country

Today at work since I had nothing to do, I started thinking about this pandemic and how quick it has been for local and state governments to shut down our economy and our freedoms.

(Side note: Our city building is closed to the public so it’s just employees. My boss is doing the AM shift and I’m working my regular afternoon shift so we aren’t in the office together. We are practicing that “social distancing.”)

Why is it NOW that we have had such a dramatic reaction to the Wuhan virus? Is it really going to be much worse than SARS, MERS or any other virus we’ve faced throughout the world? Are we going to end up with thousands of deaths like Italy? Has the media hysteria frightened people to panic?

I guess the “experts” know best by ordering “shelter in place” and the shutdown of thousands and thousands of businesses. Why can’t we just quarantine the most vulnerable (except the homeless and inmates, of course), postpone large public gatherings, and recommend some higher level of hygiene?

It is understandable that we need to be aware of the public’s safety and control this virus yet are we not a country with inherent freedoms such as economic pursuit and that of movement?

There’s risk and reward for living a life of freedom and I’m wondering if the risk of shutting down our economy is worth more than the anticipated reward (“flattening the curve”).

In America, you are free to pursue the job of your dreams or start your own business. Imagine the government comes in and demands to shut down your employer or business for public safety. You are now forcibly being robbed of your economic freedoms. Does that not make you some form of an economic slave of the government?

You can’t shut down businesses and expect them to re-open with their regular customers. Those customers have now lost their jobs and will not have any disposable income to spend once the economy is back open for business. That “social distancing” will be long gone when unemployment has reached massive levels.

The “shelter in place” order also has an effect on our freedom to move throughout this country. What will be the psychological and future effects on our interpretation of “freedom of movement” when this finally comes to an end? How many people will suffer depression during their self quarantine and end up costing thousands in the medical field or commit suicide?

I also believe this reaction sets a bad example for our enemies who want to inflict some form of bioterrorism upon us. They now know how easy it would be to cause a panic and economic shutdown of this country. Just. Like. That.

Just some of my random thoughts. There are many differing opinions as to how best to handle this and I am no expert on this, by any means. I just have a terrible feeling that the coming economic result of this is going to be devastating for many, many Americans. Only time will tell if the reaction offered more reward than risk.

Wuhan Coronavirus Pandemic (updated daily)

Dear friends:

There is so much news and information on this demon Wuhan virus, I decided the best thing to do is this page with links to sources, instead of writing individual posts.

This page contains two groups of news/information:

  1. A list of already-published FOTM posts on the virus.
  2. A list of other news, research and information on the virus from outside (non-FOTM) sources.

Links will continuously be added to both groups, with the newest links added to the bottom of each list. Just click the blue-colored embedded links and you’ll be brought to the source. I invite my fellow FOTM writers to add links to this page as well, including links to your virus-related posts.

This page will have a “sticky,” which means it will be the first post you see when you access FOTM‘s home page. I suggest you bookmark this page.

Please pray for President Trump, for America, and for each other,

~Eowyn
