CAIR Loses Non-Profit Status! Finally

Ben Smith of Politico reports, June 23, 2011, that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and sister organization CAIR Foundation have lost their nonprofit status, according to the Internal Revenue Service.

The American Muslim so-called “civil rights” group, long accused of ties to radical Islam, is on a list of 275,000 organizations who have not filed the requisite paperwork with the IRS to maintain nonprofit status. Tax law requires annual disclosure of assets, expenditures and salaries for 501(c) nonprofits.

A CAIR attorney initially told POLITICO that its appearance on the IRS list referred to a defunct arm of the nonprofit, and that CAIR and CAIR foundation were unaffected — a claim that a review of the IRS documents did not support. CAIR then told POLITICO the IRS was to blame, citing a number of other errors that have occurred on the IRS list. However, CAIR could not produce their IRS disclosure forms for 2007 through 2010 — which are required to be open for public inspection.

“We are looking into all of these issues and are working with the IRS to clear things up,” CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper told POLITICO. “CAIR was clearly not targeted or singled in any way by the IRS.”

The FBI named CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in a landmark terrorism financing trial in Texas. Some Islamic charities facing federal investigations have been advised by attorneys not to file IRS paperwork for legal reasons, but there is no evidence that CAIR is currently the target of a federal probe.

According to Wikipedia, CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties advocacy group, headquartered on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., with regional branches nationwide.

“In 2007 the organization was named by U.S. Federal prosecutors, along with 245 others, as an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas funding case involving the Holy Land Foundation, which caused the FBI to cease working with CAIR outside of criminal investigations due to its designation…. In June of 2011, CAIR lost its tax-exempt status for failure to file the appropriate 990 forms for the previous three years.”

  1. At the moment a bunch of anti-Semites are leaving Ireland on a flotilla of ships to bring aid to Hamas. They are going to breach the Israeli blockade. Personally I hope the Israeli Navy sends them to the bottom. It’s OK to be Anti Semite but it is not acceptable to be anti “the religion of peace”. Finally we have got a conservative radio station here with two conservative show hosts. No wetbacks or liberals ring in because they get attacked on air by the hosts and by most of the population. The day of the bleeding heart is coming to an end. We have had enough of these types here. Just imagine Sharia Law been introduced into Ireland and the rag heads telling the Irish we can’t DRINK. Prepare for world war III! They would be shipped out so fast they’re sandals wouldn’t hit the ground! We didn’t die for our Faith here for nothing!

  2. And if you look carefully at the picture above Mustapha Jihad’s sister you’ll see the evil and hatred in her eyes. Ya’ll take care now. God bless.

  3. Satan hates dogs too. The dog is the closest friend man has in the animal world. yes, I love bacon and eggs for breakfast on Saturday morning. I’d just love to see Mustapha Jihad come in and try and take it away. He’d leave the house with a pipe buried somewhere the sun never shines. I’ve had some lovely dogs myself for years. yes, we do love our dogs, bacon, beer and everything else that’s bad for you. They’ll have to prise my Guiness glass from my cold dead hands. LOL

  4. Fortnight for Freedom is an ecumenical citizens’ movement to defend Americans’ First Amendment rights to freedom of religion, in the home, in the churches, and in the public square.

F4F was constituted in response to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ April 12 call for using “all the energies the Catholic community can muster” for a national program of rallies, classes, and prayer between June 22, 2012, the feast day of Saint Thomas More, and the 4th of July.

The bishops called for all Americans of good will to join them in this campaign.
