Boycott Cosmopolitan Magazine for peddling porn to minors

Rate this post

The so-called women’s magazine, Cosmopolitan, no longer confines itself to beauty tips but aggressively peddles outright pornographic “advice” to young women and minors.

Nicole Weider of Project Inspired is asking you and me to sign a petition to the U.S. Senate to designate the #1 best-selling “women’s magazine” Cosmopolitan as an adult-only publication, which means the magazine can only be sold on news-stands in a non-transparent wrapper, just like the porno magazine it really is.
Here’s Weider’s appeal to us:

Why This Is Important

If Cosmo is for adults, and not minors; then it should be sold ONLY to adults. I understand they have a right to free speech and to print what they want, however it is a crime to market graphic sex tips to underage kids.

Because it’s the #1 best-selling women’s magazine, it’s easily available to young boys and girls at any age. Through my website, www.projectinspired.com, I have received hundreds of supportive comments and emails from girls as young as 11. They write me letters detailing how they’ve tried the sexual tips written about in Cosmo, only to get their hearts broken, or worse — getting pregnant or catching an STD.

This publication has steadily declined into a full-on pornographic “how to” guide for teens and vulnerable young girls. Every issue dares girls and encourages them to try new sex moves (including anal sex), engage in threesomes, experient with lesbianism, have public sex, watch porn, (with specific URLS listed- October 2011 issue.) and using sex toys such as dildos, shower heads, and vibrating tongue rings to “please your man and stimulate your clitoris.”This readily available magazine has become one of the media’s worst influences on girls.

Join me in my fight to get Cosmopolitan sold in a nontransparent plastic bag where it’s made available to adults 18 and older and our youth won’t be subjected to this vulgar material. Let me reiterate my goal: That no one under the age of 18 sees the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine on newsstands or at their grocery stores, and that no one under 18 can legally buy Cosmopolitan magazine.

I have contacted the Chairman of the FTC, John Leibowitz and received a letter from his office stating they will look into the issue and start an investigation ONLY when they feel it’s a ‘threat’ to society. This means they need more COMPLAINTS — that is, signers of this petition.

I have also contacted Kate White, the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine and I didn’t get a reply. No surprise there!

I recently mailed a letter to the Senator of California alerting her of the obscene sexual material in this magazine.

Now, we’re going to hit them in the pocketbook. Maybe she’ll pay attention to us if her advertisers recognize that it’s not very cool to have your ad next to an article urging women to engage in threesomes and anal sex.

Please join me in my fight to get Cosmopolitan put in a nontransparent plastic bag and sold ONLY to those who are 18 and over by signing this petition. Together we can contact the magazine’s biggest advertisers and the FTC chairman.

More voices mean faster action to protect our young girls from this obscene magazine!

Sincerely,

Nicole Weider of Project Inspired

  1. I can honestly say I have never bought one of these. I signed the petition, because it is despicable.

  2. They don’t call Cosmo the “breakup mag” for nothing, you know… “sex-positive feminism” in action.

  3. Terry, I signed the petition last night. At first it didn’t go through because it wanted my address. I put that it, and the petition went through.

  4. I signed with no problem. Thanks for posting Dr Eowyn, I had no idea that cosmo had sunk so low (not being someone who reads that junk). Its just another piece of the puzzle that is perverting our young people…

  5. I have never purchasaed ever, Cosmopolitan, or any magazine similar to it, in my life, and I never will. I have signed the Petition. Thank you, Dr. Eowyn, for bringing this serious matter to our attention!

  6. Destroying the moral fabric of any Society incrementally is a known strategy that has worked like a charm for those who wish to subvert nations. By promoting issues that degrade a culture, and removal of all forms of Spirituality by substituting Lust for Love and Pride for Humility it easy to set the stage for a Nation to simply rot from within. When that process has done it’s assigned task, a new Leader will be enthroned and all will be humble groveling servants to their new Task Master. Be very careful what you ask for or seek.

  7. The petition is closed 🙁 I definitely would sign. This magazine highlights Rihanna for sticking with an abusive partner and drug-using social embarrassments like Miley and Paris as role models. It’s bad when grown women idolize such people, but teenagers shouldn’t have their ignorance and reliance towards “cool” superiors taken advantage of.
I subscribed from August 2013 to June 2014, canceled their renewal, unfollowed their fan page, and formally asked by phone and in writing to the webmaster to be removed from their online site. I am receiving harassment from their readers in regards to a comment to an article I posted in September 2013 about hair and makeup. The writer pompously addressed to me that she worked very hard doing VIP interviews and I apologized to her, but the harrassment towards me continues from other readers.
You can read that article here:

I feel personally attacked by their readers since September 2013 even though I’ve repeatedly apologized for my disapproval of the article. This isn’t youtube; its a nationally published magazine for adults. However, it doesn’t look like there are that many adults reading it.

cosmopolitan should be banned full stop. regardless of age.
Being in possession of it should deem you guilty of being in possession of indecent material, you should get a flogging with a rattan (10x lashes at least) and a 10 year jail term. as for the peddlers and publishers of this pornography they should be hanged on meat hooks with piano wire for corrupting our most vulnerable encouraging them to dress like and mimic prostitutes – I fell so sorry for the children of the women who read this filth, no doubt these slutbags (aged 21-52) want to hit an exit button on the men who love them for who they are on a prefabricated pretext just to grab there home and gold, kids and dog while this filth encourages them to fuck any random bloke they meet at the local bar. Publishing and selling this kind of indecent filth MUST be made illegal and is no different than a drug dealer peddling his product to anybody yet where are the raids on the offices and newsagents who peddle this filth??? western jewish propped-up governments are fucking hypocrites.
